I was an extra in this movie. I worked a lot of the baseball game scenes. A few of them were filmed in Macon Georgia.
There was this one day we worked and it was very hot. We were all wearing heavy suits made of wool and they had the black extras separated from the white extras as it was true to the times.
This one day and all the main cast was there including Boseman, Ford, Bernthal and many more and this one black lady in the black area out from the shade in the blistering heat during a canera change started singing the Star Spangled Banner. Her voice was very loud and beautiful. Once everyone realized she was singing everyone even Ford and Boseman put their hands over their heart and she finished that song. When she got done everyone stood up to give her a standing ovation.
It was one of the most inspirational films I worked on. Thanks for letting me share this story. Rest in peace Chadwick Boseman. He was an amazing man.

I'm a 50 something white Australian guy and I have to say I agree. It's not always the case, but it seems that we often loose the ones who can, and do make the most difference way too soon. From what I have seen of Chadwick, he was special in that way, where everyone just stops and listens to what he had to say. I know I will miss him, both because he is gone, and for what he could have done if he were still here with us.

I get sick of how these movies show characters as infallible and often show certain ethnicities as underdog angels and show white Americans as ignorant corrupt racist thieves.
But Hollywood simplifies and generalizes and sensationalizes that's just how it is .
Not to mention that Jackie Robinson was - by all accounts - a one in a billion human. He had not only superhuman abilities in sports but in his ability to turn haters into friends. To deescalate. To win over hostile crowds. To open the minds of closed minded people set in their ways. For once, here's a biopic that really didn't need to exaggerate. He's been a hero of mine since i was a little kid

Not sure many of us who grew up in Africa really appreciate how hard it was to be black in America during these times. Slavery was very long ago and we got to rule ourselves somewhat thereafter (albeit with a large dose of colonialism). Segregation was not really something we got to know. Films like this help to educate Africans today on what our brothers over in the States had to face for such a long time.

Great recap. Here in the Caribbean where I grew up and still reside, Jack Robinson was admired and highly respected by people of colour, of whom I one. As a matter of fact he was a household name that was synonymous with lightning speed. I would often hear grown-ups, my parents included, say things like, "before I could say Jack Robinson, the man was finished washing my car." I myself used the expression 'before you can say Jack Robinson ' a couple days ago.
I saw his movie years ago where Debbie Morgan played his wife and it increased my admiration for him.

It's isn't just about the skin color, but about the superiority, low inferiority or jealous/evil mindset.
Same skin color, same continent, same country, only difference is the name and region/tribe, and all hell is let loose. All because of corrupt leaders whose watch word is divide and rule, yet the populace are so gullible that they can't see through their gimmicks, lies and propaganda.

This video gave so many chills at the end and such a proud feeling - But on the other hand giving me much heartache for the way that a lot of our people are today. Remembering ALL the people before us and the suffering they went through to hopefully make a better life for us in the future. A lot of our people could give 2 shits about what they went through. We are still the low race on the totem pole - as a whole, we haven't learned a damn thing through all of these years. A lot of us can't keep a business running - too busy dipping your hands in the money, and trying to get over one someone - we are killing each other seems like faster that the white man did/is - we are cheapening our selves with the young women almost naked and so much paint on their face you can hardly tell what they really look like - and the young guys with their pants almost to the knees - which is a symbol of saying my ass is available. It seems to me that ALL those people in the early years went through their hardship in vain - My heart breaks because we haven't learned - ALL of these drugs out here - back in the day, they were put out here for the black people - And a lot of us STILL use the *N* word like it's a proud badge - when it was the white man that put that label on us - I sure hope ... somewhere down the line I pray, we finally wake up and STOP TEARING OURSELVES UP!

StrongholdLTD, many of you whites are still racist, just hiding it better than decades ago. I still get nasty looks from whites, and I am not black, I am a brown latino

The fact is that BTC symbolises the future of
cryptocurrency, and traders are wondering if now is the best moment to trade, I feel you should examine the situation more closely before jumping to any conclusion. BTC's price has been fluctuating over the previous days, signaling that the market has become unstable and that is it impossible to
anticipate whether it will go bearish or bullish.
    Others are patient, while others continue to trade with no risk. It all depends on the pattern you're trading and the source of your signal;

A lot of investors has restrained from the
market because of the volatile and sudden
crashed in the market.but l've learnt to
understand that trading is quite different from
just holding. There are short sell for bearish
      and long sell for bullish.

There are a lot of strategies to make tongue
wetting profits especially in a down market but
such sophisticated trades can only be carried
      out by proper market experts.

The world is really a messed up place. The same African Americans who's fathers went through all these racial abuses have also degenerated to acts of racial superiority to visiting Africans of same skin colour like them.
It even gets worse; here in Africa and my own country Nigeria, we the Igbos of ethnic descents have in the past, been visited with genocide by our own 'brothers' and have in recent years been treated as foreigners in our own country. All these hate because of our God-given ingenuity and hardwork which leads to our success story regardless. Humanity indeed needs to do better.

Olisa Nwizu, Sad but don't expect it to get better. This world is inevitably wrapped up in sin and nothing will change until Jesus comes to rescue the very few who will be left, the very few who will receive the Holy Spirit and be spared from utter destruction!
