- When it comes to famous writing routines, I have always personally wanted to try Dan Brown's 4 am writing routine.

Dan Brown is the author of numerous #1 bestselling novels, including The Da Vinci Code, which has become one of the best-selling novels of all time. His novels are published in 56 languages around the world with over 200 million copies in print. He’s had his books adapted to films starring A-List talent such as Tom Hanks, and you could even find a season of The Lost Symbol that was based on his best-selling thriller on Peacock.
I completed Dan Brown’s MasterClass in 2019 while my husband and I were working on a farm. There were takeaways from the course that I have applied to my writing, but I have always wanted to challenge myself to attempt his writing process.
So this is Dan’s routine:
He wakes up at 4 am and after every hour he does a few push-ups and sit-ups.

I think it may just be the perfect technique to apply to my first day back writing after receiving some notes. I find that because I have to start at 4am, it’s too early to procrastinate or self-sabotage, and therefore it’s less intimidating to face notes and changes.
As I mentioned in the video, I got so much done, and even though it’s a few days since I did the challenge, I am so proud of myself for giving my writing that much attention. That’s very cool and when my writing career takes off, I’m excited to fully dedicate my working hours to it.

@ilmahjavanmardi7369 I have so much respect for anyone who can finish writing a book that I don't think it's my place to look for flaws. Nothing is perfect, although Dan's work is pretty close, haha😃. There is already so much negativity on the internet that I only like to add positive contributions 🌻🌻🤗

I have a hard time believing this is really Dan Browns daily, meticulously respected, routine. Dan Brown publishes a new book every 3 years on average, his last books took 4 years and one even 6 years. So that's 3x365 daysx7 hours, that is 7665 hours to write 500 or 600 pages, that's more than 100 hours per page, or 2 weeks of that regime to write a single page. Of course much of this time is spent searching for ideas, researching, plotting and outlining, but still, it seems rather excessive.
He doesn't have kids and does not regret it. He chose a life of creativity.
I write when i can, i've took a few of the masterclasses, i also enjoyed James Pattersons and David Baldacci's. As of now Dan Brown doesn't have any kids, i think he said previously he and his ex wife decided against it. Bbc maestro one with Harlen Coben is a good one to do.
Dan Brown probably went to bed early and only worked those hours.
