Finally Mercedes has taken the embarrassment out of owning their entry level car line. This thing looks like big fun, and it's gorgeous inside and out. What an improvement over the original.

When I was younger I was into Subaru STI, now I have an IS350, however I wish it had more power and a DCT. This car feels like a luxury STI so that's where the appeal to me comes from. Obviously a C63 AMG would be killer, but we're talking what, another 20k?

Steve, I think I would rather have the AMG Performance package than paying extra for the sport Recaro's. Are they as comfortable as the regular seats in every day use? I built one out to $74,540 on the Mercedes website, and that did not include the seat upgrade. Adding those would have been approx another $3,700.
On my Island, the CLA45 S (only model available here for this generation) is $400 _more_ than the BMW M2 Comp. Yes, they are very different cars, but I honestly think I'd have the BMW. While I love what Mercedes/AMG have done with the new CLA, a 4 cylinder at that price point just doesn't seem right IMO.

Yup, the M2Comp a no-brainer. And If you need four doors and AWD, BMW will also sell you an M340i for similar money.

Steve is this price tag real? 74k and it’s missing the dynamic package for 4500 that 82k with taxes in nys.. there crazy u can get a M2 comp for that price and hellcat Charger redeye with 800hp I mean I know it’s apples and oranges. But let’s be honest here merc benz is starting to price themselves a little beyond what there really worth too many choices today out here!!! But great review as always Steve.. gotta support my boy from Albany I live in Troy so I’m one of your number one fans keep up the good work

Its a merc. People buy it for the brand name aswell. Its the same system Apple uses. People will always pay the extra for the brand name.

Tim C. Didn’t say its not stiff but compared to the front wheel drive lower platform of the cla that crashes over every bump its more compliment.

For the price, you could get something much better. You're paying for performance here, not quality. The interior is cheaply made like an entry-level A-class and for £50 k + that's not acceptable. I would rather spend that £50 k on something higher in quality, more reliable, that rides better and is more well made such as an e class coupe amg or a BMW m440i, etc. Seriously, Mercedes should give this model a much-improved interior for that price with a deficiency of plastic materials. Smart people would not buy this car.
What are you taking about? The interior looks like the new G wagon interior
