Stern deserves credit for revolutionizing the radio medium. Before howard radio was a snoozefest. He made it fun and interesting. The envelope needs to be pushed sometimes and kudos to him for doing it. Radio needed to evolve.

The Howard Stern TV show (someone may have mentioned it already) was on KCOP Los Angeles (I'm pretty sure it was on channel 13 (KCOP, now UPN) in the Los Angeles area) was so funny, it was in the lates 90's. I wish it was still on the air, I think it was just for TV, not the filming of the radio program like it is now (or was in the 2000's) it was an awesome show, I remember a line of people in the studio ready to eat glass and do weird crap just to get to talk to Howard.

My guess is that he liked his 'current' look too much to give it up just for the sake of 'accuracy' in the biopic. Much of it was true, such as the portrait of his marriage, and his various jobs in radio.
Love him or hate him, he's been a very loyal friend / has always kept his word to Fred, and that is so rare in the industry. That's the definition of a real friend, either that, or Fred has some MAJOR dirt about Howard that he's managed to keep secret still to this day! lol
