    Just drove a 2022 ES300h as a loaner the past day while my 2016 GS350 F-Sport was being serviced. This was the first hybrid I've driven & I liked it better than I thought I would & I would gladly buy one over the ES350. It felt much better balanced than the ES350 which I drove a few months ago as my previous loaner as it had too much power going to the front wheels & could really use AWD. Fuel economy is phenomenal while still having good power & didn't feel much slower than my GS despite having about 100 less HP.

      While I agree with u ok the hybrid being good is rather have the Es. The hybrids engine and HP is wayyy too slow and while the ES ain’t the greatest it’s still a bit better. AWD is nice but FWD is still Manageable

    Hi, Ben... I just discovered your channel today which caught my eye because I've been a Lexus champion for many years. My current model is like this one, except mine is a 2020 ES300h in Nebula Gray Pearl with the bamboo interior trim. This is the best Lexus model I've ever owned and I'll keep it for the life of the vehicle. Excellent review on your part for this model, too. 👍

    Was that the Ultra Luxury you keep saying Luxury but seems like it was the Ultra Luxury. The Mark Levinson system is what I need. I have a great 2020 ES 300h premium I just can't stand the horrible Lexus 10 speaker audio system. I'm thinking about upgrading my audio system but also thinking about changing cars to the Ultra luxury or Luxury model would have to have the Mark Levinson system. Just bought my Lexus 4 months ago. I'm waiting until all the dust has settled with the inventory problem. If I change cars I will not buy another Lexus if it doesn't have the Mark Levinson system.

    We recently purchased a 2022 Lexus ES 300h. The front seats give my wife and I low back pain - the longer the trip the worse it is. We’ve tried adjusting the seats in all different positions with no help. I think it has something to do with the way the seats were made to accommodate the seating ventilation. We are not happy at all with a car that potentially can give us long term back problems. I’ve already gone to the chiropractor multiple times because of these seats. We are average size folks so it’s not us - it’s the car seats!

    This guy sounds like a cheesy carnival barker. I can hardly make out most of his jabberwocky. Sounds like he's trying to read a Lexus brochure as fast as possible. All hype and little or no value added. BTW, I think the interior looks like every other black plastic Asian video game unit, and the fact that he loves the gauche Lexus "plastic grill with a car attached" look pretty much says it all. It was an awful look when Audi invented it in 2006, and when the Asians mindlessly copied it, they made it even worse.

      No, but it's very well built anyway. It's built in Kentucky, but on a dedicated Lexus assembly line and paint shop, by workers hand-picked and then trained in Japanese methods. Standards are higher than US Toyotas for fit and finish, parts quality, panel gaps and paint specs.

    Rip off of a vehicle. Toyota Avalon is essentially the same car for less money. The company saw profits and decided not to market the Avalon so they could discontinue it due to low sales, and charge a premium for the "L" label.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc Год назад

      You're not correct. The Avalon was marketed for 20 years. Its role was always to provide a move-up option in the Toyota showroom for empty-nester Camry loyalists, and more of them get SUVs now. As a result, the Avalon wasn't eliminated for the ES, it was replaced by the tall SUV-like Crown sedan.

    • @texan903
      @texan903 Год назад

      @tonysterbenc since you're saying the Avalon was marketed for 20 years, that means it started in 1994 and tapered off around 2014-15. This leaves a roughly seven year gap of insufficient advertising, thus helping sales to plummet. This would be right, as the Avalon sold in respectable numbers until around 2015. The death knell came in 2013 when Lexus essentially sized the ES the same as the Avalon. People began seeing $5k as an insignificant difference and decided to simply go with an ES.
      As I remember it, the rear wheel drive Cressida was pulled from sale after 1992, largely because of the inception of Lexus, and the Cressida was so similar to those cars, particularly the LS. In the run-up to the Avalon being introduced, domestic automakers, particularly Buick, were concerned that the Avalon would chip away at their market share, which it ultimately did because it perfected a formula set by other manufacturers. The Avalon was also positioned as a Lexus without the "L" emblem, so professionals could have an upscale vehicle without appearing flashy or like they were doing extremely well.
      The Crown is a much different vehicle than the Avalon, and Toyota is saying it's an entirely new car here and not a direct replacement for the Avalon.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc Год назад

      @@texan903 My "20 years" comment was meant to be an underestimate, not an assertion that they stopped marketing the car in 2014. In fact, that did not happen; much the contrary, in 2013 they added a new livery-specific version of the Avalon upon the death of the Town Car specifically in an attempt to widen its market. I was just looking at year-by-year sales numbers for the Avalon. Contrary to your inaccurate assertion, sales jumped in 2013 with the attractively styled new model to over 70,000, its highest total in six years. The real "death knell" was that the new-for-2019 car was ugly. Proof: most new cars see a sales jump with a restyle, but Avalon sales actually slumped more than 15% that year (similar to, e.g., the newly uglified '09 Acura RL). The ES's move to a longer wheelbase in 2013? Implying that the ES size upgrade was motivated by a desire to kill off another Toyota division's product is bizarre to the point of bordering on flat-out paranoia. Beyond that, the Avalon's death was inevitable because of trends bigger than any one automaker. Every single car in the Avalon's class of full-size FWD sedans from non-luxury nameplates is dying or has died. Go down the line: Impala, LaCrosse, 300, Charger, Taurus, Maxima, Cadenza. The fact that the Avalon was one of the last survivors should, if anything, reflect credit in your mind on Toyota for holding out as long as they did. And as for whether the Crown is replacing the Avalon? Any automaker bringing out a new nameplate is going to say it's "all new." Everything from the Crown's chassis to its price point to its target audience of empty nesters says otherwise.

    • @texan903
      @texan903 Год назад

      @tonysterbenc you did not read what I said accurately. When the 2013 ES and Avalon bowed, despite the sales increase for the Avalon, its new similarities meant the beginning of the end of the Avalon, as reflected in the sales totals every year after 2013, until it was canceled just nine years later.
      Before the 2019 Avalon ever debuted, Toyota acknowledged that the car would face an uphill battle in terms of sales. With the ES competing directly against the Avalon, naturally, Toyota would better promote the ES because it would net greater profits. So, no, it is not paranoia. You are simply incorrect. Maybe that wasn't the goal, but anyone can see the natural consequence of how the Avalon and ES competing would play out.
      With the Crown overlapping ES in price, its only advantages are the higher seating position, improved fuel efficiency, and technology. I don't believe that Toyota has resolved the sagging sales problem it faced with the Avalon. It's only a temporary fix that both the Cressida and Avalon faced towards the end of their life cycles.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc Год назад

      @@texan903 Texan, I read your comment more accurately than you said it, in multiple respects, and I backed it up with facts and figures to prove it. Your confident assertion here that "you are incorrect" is backed by nothing but just that, your peculiar mix of chip on the shoulder and excessive self-confidence. In fact, the Avalon and ES are supported by entirely separate advertising budgets, because the company runs the two divisions as completely autonomous marketing units. The ES competes internally with the RX for ad dollars, and the Avalon with the Camry and Highlander. Their ad budgets were not set in a steel cage match against each other. So, yet again, your confidence is backed by basic wrongness in your underlying assumptions about the company's decision making process. As for the sales prospects of the Crown, I personally think they're dismal, but I never commented on that so you're simply changing the subject. I only commented, accurately, on what Toyota HOPES to accomplish with it-which, again, differs from your inaccurate assertion.
