I have loved George Strait's music for years for one reason - it is country music. I think it is very appropriate that he and Alan Jackson came out with this song. I get tired of watching all these so-called country music awards shows when musicians like these two don't get any awards. NO ONE has ever had more than 50 number 1 songs. That says something. Quit trying to reinvent country music, people.
I love seeing these 2 together, especially singing together because their duets are always AWESOME! These 2 are definitely country music legends and should be considered as such.
Great tune with a lot of truth to the words. I listen to country classics early every Sunday morning. Its a shame that's the only time they play real country. Thank you George and Alan.
this song really does a good job of bringing to light the pop bubble gum crap that is not country music like rascal flatts, kieth urban, sugarland, bon jovi, ect. this song here is performed by two REAL COUNTRY legends which slaps "todays radio" in the face with a powereful message of heart and tribute.
Y’all I was raised on old country music all the Olies my dad and grandma and my great grandma raised me on all the oldies of the country legends and I’m very grateful for it I listen to them still to this day
This is such a great & true song, I love the fiddles and steel guitqrs..I rarely listen to the majority of new stuff. Thank goodness I hung on to all my old albumrs and tapes. And wow..does George not look incredible in a grey tie? Be still my heart!!
Good for you.I hope there will be others like you. There is a big demand for real country music if it was out there to be heard.Darryl Singletary, Lane Turner and other younger artists will keep true counry music alive if they can get the air time. Thanks for your efforts.
You know its funny , when this song came out I was a DJ on the number 1 station in our market . It was a country station here in central Florida . All the jocks got a memo not to play this song more than 1 time during day parts and once overnight . Plus we couldn't talk about the song at all . These orders didn't come from the Program director either .... There is a reason that the label never released officially as a single .
WOW. I forgot bout this song.....But how true it is!! Country music today is either too pop or too rock. I wish we could go back to how it used to be!!
Why was this song not a number one hit???? Perhaps the most classic message in country music history....great lyrics......Strait is the man.....AJ was sliding in his career...and these collaboration songs almost never hit....perhaps that is the reason...
A lot of our old favorites took a lot of criticism back in the day too. Country music has to evolve. The "good days will always be with us, but there is a place for the newbies also. Too much bitterness! I say give them all a chance. Some of them are quite good.
I miss the steel guitars, and banjos. Country music died long before 2000. It died the day, they quit playing the steel guitar, and was replaced by the likes of Garth, Rascal Flats, and musicians like them.
I didn't mind country-rock as a teenager I grew up on george jones the highwaymen and hank william jr kenny rogers conway and likes of Dolly , the Judds and.alabama .
Great singers .Wish there were more like George S, Alan J, Randy T & Josh T. Way to much ROCK -N- CRAP getting control of this GOOD OLE COUNTRY MUSIC >
I have a few antique radios from the 30s & 40s. A few of them still work fine, but I don't turn them on. The reason is I like Country Music, and there is none on the air. If I wanted to hear bang bang....,bang bang Bang and the cat meows of Carrie Underwood, then I could find it. The radio in my van doesn't work either. It hasn't for over 2 years, and I don't plan on getting it fixed either. I bring a portable CD player and listen to my own music. Garth & Carrie? What a laugh!!.
I love tradional country (alan, george, hank, garth) but I also love many new country artists who have taken a more pop sound. I don;t know why George and Alan are complaining these two guys are 2 of the most successful musicians in history of music of any genre.
@TheJfrosty93 hey frosty, your words 'bout country are music to my ears ;-) just this time I heard this 'murdersong' from Larry Cordle - with fiddle and banjo, that's great
Wish they never killed country music this stuff today just sucks but i'll say alan jackson is still country ty for this great video ty justin keep them coming
You can always count on a few country music artists to stay with tradition Country & Western music. But remember that you can still find good music on cd's. So if you can't find it on the radio turn it off and throw in a cd. I seldom listen to our crappy country stations in Phoenix, AZ. Actually crappy is a nice word for them.
I LOVE this song!!!!!! I always sing it at the top of my lungs when Im driving.. haha my dad got me into this song since he knows I hate country now...Country music is total garbage now.... George n Alan are the only artists who keep it country.. bring back 90s country!!!!!!!!!!
Now this is what i call country music not like that half breed stuff they try to pass off as country today.Sing on George and Allen, you are about the only country music artist left today. CARL
Thank you finally some one on youtube that likes country music, i dont know how people listen to all that crap like screamo and death metal you cant even tell what they are saying if all the screamo and death metal people would listen to this song they woukd feel really bad probably
RIP Music Row... these boys had the balls to sing it and few today can bring it. Yeah, we all wondered who would fill them shoes. I guess it's smoke rings in the dark singing whisky lullabyes but some of us took the grand tour. Yep, he stopped lovin her today. I guess that's the way love goes these days. It was a good year for the roses I guess. Now I feel a thousand miles from no where.
and most of the traditional country songs went out the window in the mid 80's/90's with Tim, Faith, Shaina, and Kenny. So uh it was long gone before Carrie even came around.
Real country song. Two great singers and two hunks. What a combinatioin. Too bad we don't see or hear songs like that anymore.
That says something. now thats real music comming from real musicians, awesome !
this song makes me grateful for Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, and all those other guys that actually make real country music
This song is even more relevant today than when it was originally performed. And that goes for all genres of music but especially country.
Agreed.
THERE IS NO MUSIC TODAY ITS ALL AUTO TUNE AND COMPUTER GENERATED NO REAL TALENT OF VOICE OR INSTRAMENTS
This song say's it all! I wish today's country music had heart and soul like this! Thank god for George and Alan!
Wonderful song by two wonderful singers. The type of country music that I enjoy to the fullest.
Real, true, toe-tapping, heartfelt country music. Hard to find these days.
this song really does a good job of bringing to light the pop bubble gum crap that is not country music like rascal flatts, kieth urban, sugarland, bon jovi, ect. this song here is performed by two REAL COUNTRY legends which slaps "todays radio" in the face with a powereful message of heart and tribute.
The good ones are dying out leaving only these new people left. There's very few of the good singers left.
charley pride gene Watson willie don Williams ricky van Shelton Loretta lynn
Y’all I was raised on old country music all the Olies my dad and grandma and my great grandma raised me on all the oldies of the country legends and I’m very grateful for it I listen to them still to this day
That's exactly how I feel! We need to bring back the fiddle and banjo with some more of the REAL country music!
very beautiful song my friend my favotite
This is such a great & true song, I love the fiddles and steel guitqrs..I rarely listen to the majority of new stuff. Thank goodness I hung on to all my old albumrs and tapes. And wow..does George not look incredible in a grey tie? Be still my heart!!
This iis what country music should sound like...great stuff!!!
Great to here this I wish all country station would do this. I love REAL country music.
Aman to this song.....NONE of the I will not say old, but the classic country would not be had today.
THIS is country music...please...keep this music going....
I listened to this song the second I heard "1994" for the first time.....
countrys still alive, as long as we still have the two great georges, strait and jones
I love this Video hope it never is removed.
Good for you.I hope there will be others like you. There is a big demand for real country music if it was out there to be heard.Darryl Singletary, Lane Turner and other younger artists will keep true counry music alive if they can get the air time. Thanks for your efforts.

These orders didn't come from the Program director either .... There is a reason that the label never released officially as a single .
So true there is no country music today it is rock and roll
Country music isn't what it used to be!!! You speak the truth, George and Alan!!!!
WOW. I forgot bout this song.....But how true it is!! Country music today is either too pop or too rock.
I wish we could go back to how it used to be!!
This is the most important country&western song ever written!
Why was this song not a number one hit???? Perhaps the most classic message in country music history....great lyrics......Strait is the man.....AJ was sliding in his career...and these collaboration songs almost never hit....perhaps that is the reason...
What a true song. A great pair of singers to Classic . George S & Alan J. Wow.
I just love this song so much got to be my all time fave country song
After watching the CMAs last night I had to hear this again!!!
I remember the first time I saw these two perform this song....if it ain't the TRUTH!!
A lot of our old favorites took a lot of criticism back in the day too. Country music has to evolve. The "good days will always be with us, but there is a place for the newbies also. Too much bitterness! I say give them all a chance. Some of them are quite good.
You look amazing George u always look brilliant love you ❤❤
I miss the steel guitars, and banjos. Country music died long before 2000. It died the day, they quit playing the steel guitar, and was replaced by the likes of Garth, Rascal Flats, and musicians like them.
One of my favorite songs of all time dude, thanks!
I didn't mind country-rock as a teenager I grew up on george jones the highwaymen and hank william jr kenny rogers conway and likes of Dolly , the Judds and.alabama .

Great song - tells it like it is!
I have a few antique radios from the 30s & 40s. A few of them still work fine, but I don't turn them on. The reason is I like Country Music, and there is none on the air. If I wanted to hear bang bang....,bang bang Bang and the cat meows of Carrie Underwood, then I could find it.

This needs to be re released and it needs to play LOUD! Every day. These words mean more now than they did then
George strait is number one and.AJ is number two. It's a sad state in what we have today. Thank you King George and AJ for singing this!
Alabama was 80's country and was filled with rock and roll drums and guitar. I do agree through that country after about 1995 went to shit.
George strait may have more #1's but I have a hard time choosing who I like more... Alan or George. Both are the kings of country to me!
Old time country music still lives. It's hanging out with bluegrass now.
I love tradional country (alan, george, hank, garth) but I also love many new country artists who have taken a more pop sound. I don;t know why George and Alan are complaining these two guys are 2 of the most successful musicians in history of music of any genre.
They are great together ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

They first played it at one of the award shows.

closest thing we have today called country music!!!!!!!!!!!!
George & Allen are great together!
Some of the new stuff today is fine, but a lot of it kind of went off the path. So this song has a valid point.
❤.❤. Oh my it's my guys and they are loved❤.❤.
