I about rage quit because I got shot to death at the lighthouse by the guy hiding behind the crates. Then when I went to restart the mission it took me to a "checkpoint" at the boat chase and I about shit myself because it was a miracle. Then the second time when I got to the lighthouse Salvatore immediately drowned in the water :(
Third time: I used a rocket launcher to kill the guy behind the crates but accidentally killed Salvatore. Fourth time: Helicopter doesn't get destroyed by rocket launchers. Fifth time: used M4 to destroy helicopter, mission passed :)
I picked up a PS2 from Goodwill for $15 a couple of years ago and bought this game for like $8 from Best Buy and didn't start playing it until last week. Played GTA:SA, GTA: Vice City and the GTA III and I can't get over how good Liberty Series Stories is. I am about to finish the game and already thinking about playing it again once I'm done. Ending is kinda depressing. It shows The Leones on top and as the winners here, but you know if you played III how they end up: with hardly any territory and Salvatore killed (also LCS was good overall, but what an awful final boss and mission. Blow up boats like toys, kill a couple guys at a lighthouse. And we see the supposed main villain Torrini like what TWICE? This being the second? Barely even remembered him existing :|
Kitteh well in GTA 3 the Leone is the most powerfull mafia in the city because Toni is the new boss after Salvatore death and Catalina is dead that means the colombian cartel dissapear

Another leader would come up like this fat guy after Cisco was killed in Advance and there's tons of rival mafias and gangs and cartels out there wanting the Leones dead apart from the cartel.

I personally think it's Toni) are actually way more powerful than before. Saint Mark's and the Red Light District in Portland are certified danger zones with the mafia going from pistols to wielding shotguns. I've lost count how many times I've died in that area.
I agree bout the main villain, but as for the mission itself, it wasn't bad for GTA. I mean, if you break down the last mission of each 3D GTA, only San Andreas' was over-the-top compared to this.
I couldn't imagine if all of the sudden, Vincenzo Cilli shows up revealing that he had actually worn a body armor, that's why he's not yet dead🔥🔥🔥 I don't mind about its graphics, I like this game!

Anyone notice that the antagonists in the entire storyline were all underwritten? Vincenzo makes the most appearances out of all of them, yet he's written as a tertiary antagonist who is killed off extremely early in the game and hardly does a lot to qualify as the game's Big Bad. Paulie Sindacco only appears in two missions and doesn't even do anything other than get killed in his second appearance. Torini not only appears much less despite being the Big Bad of the game, he barely even interacts with Toni and hardly does much in the entire plot. And Franco Forelli? That guy doesn't even appear at all in the game. Yeah the antagonists in this game were either almost nonexistent or do very little for the plot.
The focus of the storyline was on the relationship of Sal and Toni as they deal with the other gangs in the cities. For that aspect I like the story but this was definitely a weaker entry in terms of antagonists. Being able to play Liberty City with some more refined Vice City-esque gameplay was appreciated.
I agree. If anything, Vinnie should have been the main antagonist of the game, and Torini should have been taken out entirely since he does absolutely nothing in the entire storyline. He never even interacts with Toni, and there's no feeling to want to kill him since he doesn't do anything in the story. Whereas Vinnie was disrespectful towards Toni since the very beginning and had plenty of motives to take down Toni, thus giving the player a tempted reason to want to put him to sleep permanently. The entire story is just a mess.
The final mission when destroying Massimo's helicopter I used an M60 instead of the M4 because the M60 can take down the helicopter with a large amount of damage. This mission is a lot similar to The Exchange in GTA III as one we rescue a damsel in distress from a remote location of Liberty City and two we kill the main antagonist by destroying the helicopter they're in.
Because Liberty city stories is actully before gta 3, You see in gta 3 you do mission for T" Aka. Toni Cipirani. He's older and he lives in his ma's house.
I never played GTA Advance and never got far in Chinatown Wars but I remember the story in LCS being fairly nice. At least I liked Toni Cipriani. As far as being a better prequel goes Vice City Stories was better. The game utilized its characters better with improved gameplay mechanics.
This is my least favorite 3D GTA. Massimo Torrini was shoehorned into the storyline and doesn't appear in more than two missions. He doesn't feel like antagonist. A better storyline would have been Vincenzo Cilli as final boss betraying Salvatore with Toni saving him and earning his trust back into Mafia family.
@veke94 Yeah, I was pretty let down by it too. It didn't help that Massimo, the big villain of the game, barely had any screentime. Blasting away the villain that's plagued you since the beginning is satisfying. Blasting away some guy you barely get to know isn't.

GTA III - Destroy a Chopper to kill your worst enemy. GTA LCS - Destroy a Chopper to kill your boss's worst enemy. GTA IV (Deal) - Destroy a Chopper to kill your worst enemy, altough he survives the crash. GTA O TDC&R - Destroy a Chopper to kill your boss's worst enemy.
Taking out the Siddaco's in the city hall was piece of cake, and i had really fun in the boat either :D, I had done it the 1st time without armor :3, the 2nd time my health was low without armor, and the 3rd time i came with armor. the heli knocked out my first armor, i got the other one and i cleared the mission.
LCS was pretty much more of a "proof of concept " to test the waters for a full GTA game on a portable device. Once they saw it can be done and there's a market for it, they released VCS, their true labor of love
This is the worst final mission in the GTA series. Terrible final boss, and the boat bit goes on way too long. Totally unfair amount of boats, they should have stopped after the helicopter. Then even when Sal mentions the lighthouse and there's boats guarding they still send more. Absolutely ridiculous. Great game, disgrace of a final mission.
Massimo Torini could have been head of his family. I believe Sal's uncle is possibly the head of a different family. The GTA wiki says Massimo Torin was under boss why Sal's unnamed Uncle was the Don. But the game never outright tells you this. All of the Sicilian families could have wanted to take over LC in a shared interest. Or maybe it was just one lead by Sal's unnamed uncle. I guess both angles make sense.
This mission ass, it just like GTA III's ending. This antagonist is ass, he don't even have a relationship with Toni to make Cipriani hate him. He just some dumb muscle following orders. Not to mention the antagonist only appears twice in this game and ik Sonny Forelli barely appeared in Vice City, but he added that level of intensity in his phone calls to Tommy. I think The Truth Revealed from GTA Advance is a better mission with Protagonist vs Antagonist...

I prefer LCS over GTA III for the improvements since Vice City. Also Toni Cipriani being able to talk made cutscenes more interesting.

Yeah, I was pretty let down by it too. It didn't help that Massimo, the big villain of the game, barely had any screentime.
Blasting away the villain that's plagued you since the beginning is satisfying. Blasting away some guy you barely get to know isn't.
True, for example killing Dimitri and Tenpenny felt good, because, one they are troubling you since the beginning, and second they betray you.

He had TWO mission appearances, four lines, and never directly spoke to Toni.
GTA III - Destroy a Chopper to kill your worst enemy.
GTA LCS - Destroy a Chopper to kill your boss's worst enemy.
GTA IV (Deal) - Destroy a Chopper to kill your worst enemy, altough he survives the crash.
GTA O TDC&R - Destroy a Chopper to kill your boss's worst enemy.

Taking out the Siddaco's in the city hall was piece of cake, and i had really fun in the boat either :D, I had done it the 1st time without armor :3, the 2nd time my health was low without armor, and the 3rd time i came with armor. the heli knocked out my first armor, i got the other one and i cleared the mission.

LCS was pretty much more of a "proof of concept " to test the waters for a full GTA game on a portable device. Once they saw it can be done and there's a market for it, they released VCS, their true labor of love
This is the worst final mission in the GTA series. Terrible final boss, and the boat bit goes on way too long. Totally unfair amount of boats, they should have stopped after the helicopter. Then even when Sal mentions the lighthouse and there's boats guarding they still send more. Absolutely ridiculous. Great game, disgrace of a final mission.

Massimo Torini could have been head of his family. I believe Sal's uncle is possibly the head of a different family. The GTA wiki says Massimo Torin was under boss why Sal's unnamed Uncle was the Don. But the game never outright tells you this. All of the Sicilian families could have wanted to take over LC in a shared interest. Or maybe it was just one lead by Sal's unnamed uncle. I guess both angles make sense.

This mission ass, it just like GTA III's ending. This antagonist is ass, he don't even have a relationship with Toni to make Cipriani hate him. He just some dumb muscle following orders. Not to mention the antagonist only appears twice in this game and ik Sonny Forelli barely appeared in Vice City, but he added that level of intensity in his phone calls to Tommy. I think The Truth Revealed from GTA Advance is a better mission with Protagonist vs Antagonist...

look, the game itself was released in 2005.....the game is SET in 1998, 3 years before the happenings of GTA3, which happened in 2001. What, you think Salvatore Leone is gonna come back to life? come on now
