- Zamalek (Egypt) is the winner of the first ever BAL season after defeating US Monastir (Tunisia), 76-63.
The inaugural season of the NBA-sponsored, VOA-affiliated Basketball Africa League was played in Kigali, Rwanda where 12 teams competed for the top spot in a two-week-long tournament.

It was meant to be as any team who possessed a very talented point guard as Walter Hodge will have the edge on his opponents..
Zamalek suffered in the first half but managed to find his tempo & rhytm in the second half, which allowed him to grab the supreme title in Africa, led by the mighty " Hodge" who is by far the best foreigner player in the Arab leagues & in mama Africa, that's a total fact..
Hodge played in the Lebanese league & shined with Homentmen & Sagesse, and led Homentmen with his exelency and huge talent to grab soo many titles in 2018 ..
Lebanese league, Lebanese cup, Arab championship for teams, also lost by narrow deficit in the final of Dubai's tournament..
For me, Hodge is the best foreigner ever who shined in all arab leagues, as this mighty point guard who came from central Africa ( Dominican republic as I do remember), gave much much joy & happiness with his huge talent 🌹👍👌
