Absurdly detailed and so musical, it seems so relaxed and easy for him, I love Kavakos!

"tara ta ta,taa rarara ta ra ra ra ta rarara..." and so on. So beautifull. I am singing it sometimes over the day. Thank you Maestro Leonidas.

Great artists don't have to be commented on. Very interesting is the violin he plays here. The violin has a strange sound in some places very shrill and a broken sound. With great respect but this violin in some places sounds like a beginner's violin :)

Can you mention in the video when his violin doesn't sound that good. Out of curiosity

This is a very brave comment and completely on point. Nobody doubts this guy is a virtuoso. But yeah, his octaves are slightly out of tune and there are a number of scratches here I wouldn’t expect from a professional of this caliber. Such is live playing though. Everybody has an off night now and again.

Well ! I might be controversial here - and I know how much Leonidas loves his violins - but while his playing is outstanding the violin sounds like an Amazon $100 deal. Honestly- all it wants to do is scratch 😱

Love and respect Kavakos immensely, but his added "fripperies" did not improve upon the original.

    • @aufbrechen

In older times the improvisation, the "fripperies" were elements of a great artist. It has to do with freedom of the genius -and so i think, this IS the true original...

He adds too many flurries of notes that has no place in Bach, even in interpretation
