2000 Johnson 150 HP outboard lower unit removal

I removed the lower unit of my 2000 Johnson Ocean Pro 150 outboard.
Don't forget to remove the Shift Retention bracket prior to remove the lower bolts, otherwise you will not be able to drop the lower unit.

You did not need to remove that part. If you look along that round rod, you'll find a cotter pin. Once that pin is pulled, the entire round shaft can slide to the right, and this disengages that linkage.
