Thats true based on historical facts......but a new set of trend is about to emerge.....jail the corrupt & dismantle the influence that corrupt money gives......
look its not that. The people of Tamil Nadu and general the people of South India are politically smart. Certainly much smarter than people of North India. Which is why you always see a complete swing in results from election to election in every Southern state.
By that logic this was AIADMK's election to win. However AIADMK has been struggling to find stability post Jayalalitha's demise. There was the whole succession issue but now it seems EPS has been got the command of the party. And it will AIADMK's performance that will ultimately decide the outcome. How well can it perform ? The media like usual has been focusing on DMK and BJP because those parties as you mentioned control the media. But its advantage DMK given a 3 way fight will help split anti-incumbency votes. Which is why DMK spokesperson are so confident on TV. And that alliance with INC and Left is a far more stable alliance because they have been fighting together for some time.
As far as BJP is concerned you have to hand it to BJP. They have run the best election campaign I have seen in long time. They got Annamalai a local leader to attack the Dravidian parties plus they of course they got PM Modi to push the national appeal of BJP. But unlike DMK BJP's alliance is weak. I mean PMK, AMMK. and Tamil Manila Congress are hardly allies BJP would have liked. Only PMK has some vote.
Same for AIADMK but at least they have a better ally in DMDK which may swing some sympathy votes given Vijaykanth's death. Had he been alive it could have been far different case. But DMDK is certainly a better ally than PMK and Tamil Manila Congress, at least on paper.
Overall the Tamil Nadu election outcome will depend on how well AIADMK performs. BJP is in running. They must fancy their chances in Coimbatore and a few other seats but my opinion tells me BJP should get 3-4 seats. Simply on their smart and spirited campaign.
Rest is a fight between DMK and AIADMK with DMK having the edge but still people of Tamil Nadu are politically aware and hence and an overwhelming victory for DMK seems unlikely to me.
INDIA alliance would sweep all 40 seats, and BJP would loose deposits in all but 5 constituencies. Bjp is a mirage in TN and they cannot even come to winning or come close to second. Annamalai will get third place. SOUTH would see off bjp with 30 plus whereas non Bjp would amass 100 plus... As the tide against bjp in North too grows furious because of GST related ramifications, price hike in oil and gas apart from ruing unemployment. Bjp will not cross a majic figure of 272 this time and its overweening attitude and cavalirt attitude towards states would be nipped and devastated.

he is good friend of Rahul Gandhi but I must agree with you here. Even if Mr. Raman was pro-Congress he still presented very rational arguments. But in all the discussions on the Tamil Nadu general elections of 2024 his only argument is that BJP will increase vote share but not get any seats. Seemed quite biased to me. Very unlike him.

No chance for BJP to grow if allied with AIADMK. BJP would have been given junk constituencies to compete in. AIDMK will claim it is responsible for victories and blame BJP for failures.
Even if takes longer, a third party like BJP in TN should make the effort independently and not with a coalition.

Why discussion about a party which is not in scene.
Everyone is underestimating BJP's potential. The brands of Annamalai and Modi have been firmly established into every Tamil voter in the last 2 years, irrespective of their party preference and whether they will vote for BJP or not.
Breaking up the alliance with ADMK is very strategic in the long run as Annamalai can be projected as the CM face in 2026 (not have to stand behind EPS).
If BJP can win 5 seats (which I think they can), they will have 2 years before 2026 to permanently change the Tamil Nadu politics.

😂😂😂normally Sanghis behave like this. I don't know whether they are fools or purposefully acting like fools. You shouldn't lie out of limits. Last time BJP was in coalition with major opposition party AIADMK. This time they are standing with PMK which has no votes based where BJP is contesting. Also you have two major opposition parties having vote banks - AIADMK with 30-35% and NTK with 8-9%. PMK is having vote share of only 4-5% and BJP- 0.02%. DMK alliance with - 35-40% votes share. Only Arithmetic works in Elections. DMK alliance will winall the 40 seats including Pondicherry without any fight.
If BJP holded the old NDA alliance with AIADMK and DMDK it would have been a tougher fight for DMK and narrow range prevail in deciding the fight.
I presume Annamalai got a lump sum money from DMK to disintegrate AIADMK with his unprofessional, immoral speech against them, which proved them to get out of alliance. Only Fools are in BJP who don't know how to satisfy and convince the TN people are running the show in BJP. TN is well developed state where you third rated filthy politics will not work.
BJP failed to do any good for TN, atleast 10%what they did in UP, they might have chance to win without any support as TN people are looking for change.
No new trains, no new railway project allocation 130 crore for Southern railway against 1300 crores for northern railways, allocation of only one crore for Tamil classical language development against 100crore for Sanskrit development, like wise we can add n number of visible betrayal by BJP to TN. Modi pm never visited one time toTN to meet the people in his two tenure and visited 7-8 times for votes in one month is laughable . Even a person who don't follow news also can reject his speech.
One more thing is BJP leaders are not following what earlier national parties followed i.e. speaking in English in meetings and was translated in Tamil. But nowadays we hear Hindi which is allergic forost of them and you can never win speaking Hindi in TN with common people.even these things were not told by the BJP leaders in TN to their high command in Delhi is pitiable. The current inflation rate of 5.1% is low by historic Indian standards. Whenever I've visited India in the last couple of years from Australia I noticed the prices of goods and services been fairly stable unlike here in Sydney where all basic grocery items and essentials have nearly doubled since Covid times.
