    In my opinion, you are the best chess channel on RUclips right now. Your videos are fun and educational, and I really love that you remain positive throughout the entire video, even though I know it must be frustrating to lose over and over again. I agree. I started out watching Gotham, but even though he’s funny and witty with his tangents, there’s not much opportunity to learn. Recaps and more recaps.

    Hey bro I'm already 1:09:06 into the video and I can tell you need a break. I just want to say that you don't need to force yourself to finish the challenge in one go. I wouldn't mind having a two or three part challenge, since maybe you could have beaten Magnus earlier if it weren't for how tired you are. What I'm trying to tell you is that I'm pretty sure most if not all of your subscribers wouldn't want to see you not enjoying the content you're making. I know pretty much we asked for longer videos but it doesn't need to be at expenses of your own enjoyment. I hope my coment isn't rude. Anyways, awesome video as always.

    Again, this random challenge has helped me solidify different areas of my fundamentals.
    I always struggled with deciding which pawns to use for various tactics.
    But now having the mantra, "Take towards the center" or "Take towards the king" will help alot!

    • @ichVII
      @ichVII 19 дней назад +1

      I am pretty sure that taking towards the center was a huge mistake in this video. His flanks are weak and they get even more weak if you take towards the center and thus thin out your b or g file, which leaves the rook files just 1-2 sacrifices away from letting a queen in.

    you acknowledge that the key to protecting your layers of pawns is to have them reinforcing a diagonal but still try to push your pawns forward as a horizontal line... i wonder if a different approach focusing on maintaining the V pawn structure would have been better. i am likely very wrong though :D edit: i see around the 35 minute mark you start embracing the V shape and the bot works around it. very interesting how the engine works around these tactics

    • @iwantcheckmate

    And at that moment... you've succesfully shoved the entire battlefield one whole row over to Magnus' side!
    I honestly never expected that to happen. It should make sense with enough extra pawns making it harder for Magnus to slaughter his way through, but still I think it's an impressive moment where the 5th row, on Magnus' side is the new middle. You're totally cramping him and it's going to make things hard for Magnus. Pawns can't move very far so cramped is fine for your side. I'm actually getting excited about the pawns 🤣Go pawns! 🤣Up until that moment I was still wondering how the limited movement was going to stop being boring, but this is actually getting very interesting and fun!

    so in chess if you're skilled enough it doesn't matter how many worthless pawns the other guy has if you have a reasonable number of GOOD pieces then? I do wanna see if magnus could beat itself w/ less pawns

    100% should reverse this and spot Magnus (playing white) 35 pawns.

    Does the software allow you to do this but in reverse? You play black and give Magnus more and more pawns while you have a regular set of pieces
