Ok, anyone that's actually managed to get a kill with the grapple or threat sensor, you have permission to brag about it here.
What if I’ve gotten “Auto Pilot Medals and Killtrocity” ? no cheats hacks glitching or boosting.
I got a kill with the grapple hook in fiesta. I think the reason they were so low on health is because of the weird clashing behaviour between energy swords and melee, the melee can sometimes still do damage against the energy sword but even if it takes down the rest of their health it can never seem to kill them.
Next time I see an AFK player I know how I'm taking them out.
Done it against another sword user.
Two sword users clashing against each other can’t kill because of the parry mechanic but it will take them down to no health. Then you just ping them with equipment and they die. That’s how I’ve done it at least.
When I grappled someone and got a kill for it, I went through the footage and found it was actually one of their own explosions that killed them, but because my grapple was the last enemy projectile to hit them, I got credited the kill. I think it's plausible that this is what's happening to other people, too.
I got a grapple hit kill before, and believe me I was wholeheartedly surprised. I stood still for like 3 seconds and immediately looked at the kill feed just to see what it said I killed the person with. I was disappointed it showed nothing. Really wanted it to be a hook symbol or something of that nature.
Even 343 didn’t expect anyone to do that lol
I wonder if getting bumped by a vehicle and almost dying might contribute
Same but mine said I killed them with "the actual grapple" could've been recently added this last updated cuz I did it the other day
@@atomicspartan131 its funny because the grapple hook is designed to deal damage, it actually has unlocked increased impact damage for campaign. But I bet they never considered anyone ever killing a player with it since it does sooo little damage and its not even that consistent in dmg dealing.
Myth: There is a secret, hidden game mode in the game called Big Team Battle.
BUSTED
Is this a joke lol?
@@lonerider5315 it's because it never works its a running meme in the Halo community
@@jsspidermonkey Works fine for me.
@@lonerider5315 I think the joke went over your head man. Lol
I imagine for the end screen deaths that the player models are non-solid and do not have gameplay animations assigned to them. This way the shields are still affected by blast radii from grenades etc., as that is an explosion damage type rather than physical/kinetic type from the impact of the wasp. It's possible that the characters are 'dying' from the explosions, i.e. health has reached nothing (if the model has any health assigned to it), but the model lacks the animation to fall and ragdoll as expected from the death.
I believe it is the same as at the beginning of a match when you have the black screen where you can move around but won't die if you fall off a ledge.
The secret with the equipment kills from when I’ve seen it happens has been like… two sword users clash against each other. It doesn’t seem like you can kill somebody if you two keep parrying but I assume it takes people down to absolutely minimal levels of health so the equipment can then kill in one shot.
It actually happens ALL OF THE TIME. It’s weird. I assume it has to be a situation that occurs because of swords.
I’ve never died this way in a real ranked match. Only in fiesta.
😳 dude I hit a grapple kill in fiesta and the guy I killed had a…sword
I've had a lot of situations where two sword wielders keep clashing and they kill each other
Another situation is if two people melee let's say one guy has almost no health left and the other guy has some shield left and they both melee, in previous games they would both die but in halo infinite the person with more health than the other is wins the duel and survives with no visible health and so any damage will kill them.
Maybe it’s because halo is the only game I’m currently playing but infinite mythbusters is my favorite of the series right now. I just feel like the sandbox has so much to offer. Like I learned you can get kills by redirecting spiker explosions, or you can stick an object or body then launch it at people to get a kill. Fusion coils are endless fun, grav lifts and man canons, and all the projectiles and their interactions are so awesome to explore. I wish we could enable unlimited equipment in customs so we could do how long you could reflect certain things between several players.
Solution for equipment kill: There is a hidden melee duel trick in halo infinite. If a player has significant more shield/hp then the other person and they trade punches, the one with more hp/shield will not die even if they where suppose to. Example: if 1 has received 2 br burst, and the other 4, the one with 4 will die and the one with 2 burst will survive(even though he should be dead). This will however leave him with 0 perceivable hp. (As shown in the killcap for the dead player) Making him the perfect target for a grapple to just push him over death's line.
Never seen that. Most punches tend to trade kill for kill I have seen
So that’s why it happens so often
@@TheDeathMare The difference needs to be big, if you land 1 more br burst you will probably both die, the precise numbers aren't figured out yet I think.
This feature was driving me insane, thank you for telling me why it happens I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
2brs and a melee doesn't kill tho
This was a great .5 episode!
Thanks! :)
That equipment portion made it look like you were trying to challenge him to rock paper scissor, and instead he died of aggravation because he reeeeeeally didn’t feel like playing.
If I get killed with a threat sensor or a grapple hook this week, I'm blaming you guys. Great video as always ✌️
First, this could be a great technique to keep someone's shields down. Second, do they do bonus headshot damage?
As soon as I finished the last video, I watch some Single Halo Clips and there were like 3 clips of equipment kills and my first thought was “Can’t wait for episode 4.5” lol
Imagine if luck was something we slowly accumulate over time and you spent it all on a grappling hook kill in a video game...
2:43 this Spartan secondary weapon is a box tissues 🤣
Really appreciate how you guys will take second or third looks at myths with these .5 videos. Must take an insane amount of time for your normal videos and scripts so to go back and revisit myths you’ve covered deserves the recognition
Regarding the grapple mystery.
Was thinking, maybe there's a weapon in the game that does just the right damage to get players down to that health, allowing the grapple to kill them. Would still be really rare, but then there would at least be a slightly more common chance for players to be at that low of health.
You look like a lotus blossoming. I agree, Jamison did look like that. Great description Joe.
I've definitely killed someone with a grapple in Halo Infinite! I was mostly surprised that there was no medal or icon in the kill feed 😳
Myth: Shooting During the Black Load Screen still affects your match accuracy
Equipment kills usually seem to happen with a third party and come from the trade rule. If one player has done significantly more damage but the melee would result in a trade the game leaves that player on 1hp as a 'reward' of sorts. Then the tiny equipment damage would kill'
Myth: A skewer shot hitting an repulsor equipped by a spartan will do no damage.
I once got a kill using the threat sensor on Bazaar. Was standing on one of the second story walkways, and shot down towards the opposite side's big door, and scored a kill. I was so surprised lol
They should add a medal for getting an impact kill like that. You even gave it a name in this video: "Lottery Shot"
Myth: if you grapple in a loop of players it will go forever and if not what if an immovable object is in the middle
Yes that would be really interesting to see!
Yeah that would be cool to test out
5:48 Mr. Incredible getting caught and hit with those suction balloon things.
The tiny amount of damage is probably intentional so that you can delay an enemy's shield recharge while keeping it from being a reliable way to kill someone.
0:50 New pose unlocked:
"Plasma Firework"
Maybe there is a certain combination of weapons / shots that bring you down exactly to the amount of health where any single point of damage can kill you.
one of them is probably sword clashing, though there's probably others like maybe grenades
You guiding those birds at 2 minutes is the closest I seen to any fun custom games since this game came out
Getting an equipment kill through impact is...incredibly rare, and I didn't appreciate how rare it was. Wow.
I belive the being killed in the endscene screen is people leaving at the perfect time when a grenade or vehicle hits making it look like they got killed
I’ve been thinking over in my head and this needs a metal like something called “multi-purpose tool” or like “field manual” or possibility “Product liability”
The grapple hook kill makes kinda sense. I mean campaign you can unlock impact damage of it, so makes sense if theres some sort of impact damage from it in multiplayer. Id expect its very minimal however as what was shown
Grapple kills are possible when a person that has a higher amount of health melee’s the other person, but has lower than half of your shield health ( usually meaning 1 shot melee) . This results in a craaaaxy low health. Explosions from rockets and bases also cause this occasionally
So for the equipment bit: Most games require anything with collision to have some sort of damage value, because the unit 0 tends to cause programming issues. As result the equipment has a damage value of 1. Keep in mind the average Spartan has
~2000hp, so doing 1 damage per hit makes it very unlikely to nab a kill.
Myth: there is the scorpion tank in multiplayer
You're obviously joking right?
Myth: You can punch thrown frag grenades back at the enemies.
(I'll say it until I see it)
Need to check out that the equipment can block shots. I swear i had a stalker shot stopped by my flying sensor and also had a spiker stopped by a flag on the pad saving the guy as he went to grab it.
If a player sticks your gun, you can drop it quickly to avoid being killed. May only work with larger weapons that poke out more
Already been confirmed.
Can you put two drop walls on top of a wasp to make a full coverage circle and have a sniper/rocket Spartan ride on it way out of bounds to get a crazy vantage point??
There was a clip in Single Halo Clips of a Warthog gunner "falling" during the post-game screen.
There is quite a few scenarios where you can lose a 1v1 to someone and they will have no health (and might be killable by equipment) Mangler+melee on a person swinging a sword for example. Likely netcode related
I think it's theoretically easier to kill someone with a grapple hit in real games due to two factors: 1. they not always taking the same amount of damage from one enemy, and 2. they may not always be getting into fights from full health
My day wuz goin kinda shit, thanks for the upload today🙂, y'all have a good day or night
Have a great day! 😀
@@defendthehouse I will try, your video cheered me up so hopefully I won't get down again, again thanks for the upload 🙂👍🏽
Defend the house is one of the best channels on RUclips! And I love halo myth busters it makes me laugh so much 😁
thanks for watching :)
I’ve also heard you can survive any damage when your shield is recharging including grenade blasts and sniper shots
2:42 STANDING THERE, I REALISED
Ive gotten equipment kills twice, first was a simple grapple from behind which kinda just left me hanging since I actually wanted to escape two enemies but I hit him which gave me the kill and didn't take me forward
Number 2 was a total wtf shot where I lobbed a threat sensor towards where I was sniping with my BR and domed someone as they exited cover
My theory for equipment kills is that if there's a suicide or betrayal then the last person on the enemy team may get credit for the kill, even if it's just the small amount of damage from equipment.
The equipment kill isn’t as rare as you think. If you look into the damages of all the guns and grenades in the game, there’s got to be some combination of shots/hits that result in depleting all but 1 HP from the enemy. At that point, it just takes one shot of the grapple to kill. With as many clips as we have of this, it’s got to be pretty common to get a player that weak.
Never thought I'd see a threat sensor firing squad lol
For the first myth, I thought it was pretty obvious last vid that people’s characters are forced into a specific animation at the end of games. Pretty obvious that you can’t kill someone if they can take unlimited damage.
The best thing about the equipment thing isn’t really that it can kill its that it delays the shield recharge, so if you run outta ammo and need to stop them from shielding, a quick grapple smack will do em good
To answer the question of how people get kills with equipment, there is a point where you can take just enough damage you basically only have 1 health left. If you get hit at this point by anything, a grenade, a piece of equipment, anything that can do a tiny amount of damage, you will most likely die.
5:26
You have no conseption on how rare that is.
It's *MILLIONS TO ONE!*
(Yes, this is a DarkViperAU reference)
I have absolutely killed someone with a grapple shot only, but they were def one shot left. I kinda can’t believe you tried this with equipment only lol
I was now wondering if the damage is somehow stored until it gets to 1? Because in the community part of the equipment test with the threat sensor the damage tick was on the second volley but not the first and that may be why people have said it was easy to do in a match?
It was such an oversight to not grapple a player and as you pull to them you kick them in the face killing them
that would have been a melee kill, not the impact of the grapple itself
I've nabbed a threat sensor kill in fiesta, but yes, you have to be lucky as all hell
When I killed someone with the grappling hook they were already heavily damaged from a skirmish before I 'attacked'. I was confused because I was expecting to fly towards them but instead they just died and I got credit for it.
After knowing that they are very difficult and rare to pull of i can now take pride in my 2 grapple kills
does a headshot with the grappleshot do more damage?
If you get to the point where you both melee each other. If one person put more damage in sometimes it doesn't trade. Leaving you with 0 shield and 0 health but still alive and the other dead.
I'm guessing that people reported it as common because they were awarded a Kill Assist by hitting someone with a sensor while that player was also getting shot.
Several times the other die I got my health so low it didn't even read on the bar, if you happen to see someone like that, trying to run away to heal up, that is where that shit will happen, it's rare and for sure but if it's possible to get that low but survive a fight, someones bound to get unlucky like that. I honestly love that it's a thing, I think a bit higher damage would be cool tho. Grapple shit def makes for some interesting plays
Myth: You can have a mix of FFA and Team Bots in Team Slayer.
Guys, in the beginning, there was a Spartan charge on the ground, meaning one of them died in a wasp
For the grapple….stand farther away and actually grapple them. Don’t know myself but that could be part of it.
I got a fastball once, wasn't recording but I got a screenshot of the medal post-match
If you guys want to get to very low health you can do a melee trade with 5 br shots to the guy you want to kill and 3 for the guy that will live, puts you near death. probably how some of them got equipment kills
I think I understand the perfect equipment threshold:
If somehow the enemy looks perfectly fine, even though you know their shield is broken but there's no sparks, that's death by equipment range
I only realised by how I've gotten more occasions than I want to say where I've been one bullet off from killing someone but died and saw no sparks on their shieldless spartan and their health bar being literally nothing
I suppose that there reason why so many people thought they got a kill with equipment is because grappling an enemy gives you a medal
You can get a damage glitch with the threat sensor that will cause it to do instant kill damage. I know this as it happened to me in a fiesta match when i shot the threat sensor on an enemy tank and it instantly exploded, the tank was full health and right off the spawn pad and it said i “ killed” the guy in the game.
what's crazy is that I have done the grapple impact kill so many times
this is absolutely insane!
I’ve done it once. Might have to do with shock weapons giving lingering damage to the point of near-death; furthermore, if you are regenerating health and take damage, it might give an odd decimal point value that makes near-death health more likely.
Keep these coming brothers
Tests with every weapon, grenades, etc... to see if there's any weapon or mix of bursts or hits that will leave a person at that absolute smidgen left of health, since that one time I did it, and in all the videos I've seen it was not spammed like this... so ya, something more to this I think... but it is more appreciably difficult.
its so cool you guys got the actual voice actor for your videos. EA/Respawn banned the voice actor of apex legends pathfinder from using his pathfinder voice outside the workplace :(
wow that's no fun
I've had bots in quickplay matches that spawn on power weapons at the beginning of a round and cause some confusion and one bot on our team spawned with the enemy lol
Honestly there should be a medal for the grapple shot kill called scorpion
I've managed to get two different grapple hook kills now. Insanely lucky
MYTH: If you have a regular S7 and a flexfire S7 equipped in single player, the reticle for the flexfire will be as small as the regular one
I swear there are systems that distinctively put you at super low health for certain scenarios because there are times where I have killed and been killed and the opponent or I had no visible health left.
Most likely melee duels - if both players are out of shields, the person who wins the duel is the one who has more health left, but is left with virtually no health remaining.
Yeah, it's definitely 1 in a million chance of killing your opponent with Grapple shot.
Crazy I have over 120 hours and have never seen it
GRAPPLE CHAIN IN A CIRCLE PLEASE. The circle of Spartans would get smaller and tighter OR the physics engine explodes and everyone is shot outward.
myth: you can stick a plasma grenade on someone’s gun and they can drop the gun with the grenade
before this i was sure i have seen players killed with grapple, now after seeing this i'm starting to think something else killed them cause them odds are crazy!
Idk if you’ve done it already but multi grappling on a single person would be interesting if like 7 people grapple 1 dude and even a vehicles
I think that grappling hook kill might’ve just been a glitch. That guy he killed was at full shield and health from the looks of it
Myth: you can kill an enemy with the impact of a frag grenade.
I have legitimately killed somebody with a grapple hook impact. It obviously wasn't on purpose but they were obviously going to be dead either way it just surprised me the first time it happened.
I believe if your health is low enough, the shield effect completely disappears. It’s almost like there’s a small margin of zero health, because I’ve had it like that before. So, if you can get someone’s shield to disappear, you could probably kill them every time with equipment
On the subject of killing with Equipment: I've noticed when dueling with ARs, it can be a bit hit or miss whether I can do enough damage to kill with a melee. When I fail the trade, it seems like my enemy is left with a sliver of health most times. That may contribute to why it feels easy for some players; some automatic weapons deal little enough per-shot damage that they can consistently (or habitually) leave targets just alive enough to be killed with equipment. Just my 2 cents, though...
the medal should be called "Grapple Shot" and "Dead Sense"
Wow ive seen it and have done it but I never knew it was that hard
Here’s an answer. I do often bring my enemies to 0.000000000001% health right as I die. And I’m sure my teammates are the ones that are gonna get that grapple kill
I got a fastball medal for killing someone from the impact of a frag grenade before it explodes
I’ve managed to get a kill by hitting someone with a grenade (not the explosion but the physical hit of the grenade).
Same it's called a hail Mary right?? Or fast ball??
It was so damn satisfying to be honest, across the map toss lmao
@@red_menace1829 fast hall.
A Hail Mary is a long shot kill with a grenade.
To be fair if I had barely survived an encounter and someone threw a grenade directly at me I’d just die.
Truly Enjoy This Series
