I agree it’s a pity she had mechanical problems which was why she was taken out of service I kind of wish the age of steam Roundhouse had the SugarCreek Ohio tourist operation to be in addition to the neighboring Hocking Valley scenic Railroad it was one said that Sugarcreek was the Ohio version of Strasburg Pennsylvania because Sugarcreek like Strasburg is an Amish country
I wish so too. It should run on its native tracks in Michigan. That engine used to roar right by my house long before I was born on gtw mainline. I mean I love all trains but I'd love to hear some steamers going past. Unfortunately CN has no interest in a steam program like UP does
@@cjstibitz2130 Good luck trying to convince CN to allow that, maybe if they can get it into Owasso with the PM 1225 and soon to be restored 175 and let it run on the GLC trackage, if the 6325 ever does run.
That's the same kind of whistle Pennsylvania used on their T1 steam locomotives. I'm glad the T1 Trust is building a T1. That'll be neat to see once it's complete.
Not here. GTW 6325 did have a PRR T1 3 Chime on her in that recording you're talking about but it was swapped for a historically accurate GTW 6 Chime you hear in this video.
Probably because it was on the B&M 3713 model from K&L Trainz. He used the whistle from 6325 because it was comparable as there was no real recording of 3713’s whistle at that time.
3:40 holy rod clank..... No wonder it got side lined. I hear number 3 driver kept running a hot bearing, but who knows what else you'd find with valve gear in that condition.
@@amtrak1214 If you listen close you'll hear a clunk for every revolution of the wheels. This means the bearings have been turned into ovals or the main driver is running slightly out of true (this could be in the thousandths off). The engine had been having troubles with bearings overheating, which is what originally sidelined it. If you listen closely you hear it in the clip. Also of note, 1309 for being freshly overhauled seems to have some similar issues.
Beautiful Engine, kinda a shame that she hasn’t run for a long time but she is in good condition so it’s that she might return to service but only time will tell Plus I feel if 5629 was taken care of better and at least cosmetically restored then they could have her at the age of steam roundhouse along with 6325

He did. Private tours went from 2015 until 2018. Jerry Joe Jacobson died on September 13, 2017 after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease. The roundhouse now offers public tours as of 2019.
If 6325 runs again, it would be awesome if they run her from Sugarcreek, Ohio to Detroit & the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan to meet up with 1225 & Chicago, Decatur, Galesburg, Janesville and Joliet, Illinois in the future. I think that'll be awesome to see it happen.
I understand that the FP9 locomotives 6307 and 6313 were sent back to Canada but whatever happened to the former Milwaukee Road F7 locomotives 1000 and 1001 what happened to them after Jerry Jacobson sold the railroad to Genesee and Wyoming
Love coming back to this every now and again. You could probably rename it to "Ohio Central 6325, 20 years ago" at this point haha
It's a shame 6325 hasn't run in a while. She's a classy engine, one of GTW's finest. Nice video
This comment deserves more likes. I couldn't agree more

I Miss this Engine More than Anything. And this whistle touches my heart every time I hear it
Agreed
That whistle from 6325 is amazing! I would love to see it run again sometime!
What kind of whistle is it?

Oh for the love of god...
Is that really a B&M pacific whistle?
Wish 6325 would run again. Hopefully the AOS can restore it and get someone who’d be interested in letting 6325 run on their rails.

This engine was in a park in Battle Creek for years. I used to climb all over it and under it back in the early 80's
0:45 sounds like 3751
GTW 6 chimes sound very similar to Santa Fe's.

Very nice engine and video. Cool whistle. Thumbs up! :)
Videos amazing, beautiful, a dream !! You are very lucky to see !! Compliments !!
this a beautiful engine! nice video!
I miss this so badly.
Why did they put on display instead of restoring it back to operation? I think it's fine with it, but it is now on Age of Steam Roundhouse.
From what I recall, 6325 was sidelined due to bearing issues.
thanks I never new that

I hope Mr. Jackobsen gets his roundhouse finnished soon so we can see the old girl on the rails again!

@HENRIQUE SILVA yeah. This post was 9 years ago .
This footage was taken ten years ago, ten years ago lol Anyways, great video.
was filmed in 2001, put on RUclips in 2011
Does Every Train Fan Wish GTW 6325 Would Be Restored To Operation?
The 60% represents the percentage of the loco's weight on the drivers.
so, if this was uploaded in 2011, this took place on 2001! no wonder the camera is good!
And 6325 was built by the American locomotive company in 1942
Wish Age of Steam would get some of their Loco's out on the mainline for tours.
Unfortunately they do not own the tracks outside the yard. But I agree..especially this locomotive
At 3:54 it sounds like a southern pacific 6 chime whistle
Yeah, or a Nathan 6 chime

where are the ex Milwaukee Road F7s numbers 1000 and 1001 now? what happened to them after Jerry Jacobson sold the railroad?
All six Milwaukee Road F7s were scrapped at the end of the steam era, after 1951. They wouldn't have been around in Jerry Jacobson's time.
Sad to report that Jerry Jacobson died on September 13, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease
Sold to the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR), for their Royal Canadian Pacific train.
I need to know what kind of whistle she’s wearing

AWSOME.......
Is GTW 6325 a 4-8-4 Northern or a U3b?
northern
Oh ok
That whistle sounds very Reading-ish. Hey, dferg100, are you sure that isn't a malfunctioning Reading 6 Chime Steam Whistle?
Max Medaglia its a B&M 6 Chime
MPT 1225 No it's a GTW 6 chime.
"Only in Ohio"
Nice whislte
SE Michigan Railfan B&M 6 Chime
MPT 765 I heard it was a GTW 6 chime.
TheNevadaRailfan maybe but it seems too high
MPT 765 Might be because of the pressure. Notice in some scenes, it sounds lower (maybe they aren't pulling the whistle cord as hard)
TheNevadaRailfan when it sounds lower it is due to the whistle not being fully opened... the cord not being pulled down all the way.
Dferg100 did you make video of steamfest 2010i do not see it
some shots in Ohio Central 1293
Is this 2011 or 2001?
