I’ve been a brakeman for about 6 or 7 months now for a terminal railroad which (obviously) deals with a lot of switching. Many of these videos you have made have really helped me in the yard. A fewer of these things we are not trained to do but I’ve began to do them anyway. Thank you so much! Btw 300th sub right here.
Another fantastic video. Can you guys do one on talking to dispatch, taking track authorities, work authorities and the like. Also another one would be good for how to properly tie down cars and trains.
Totally awesome! The information and the way it's presented is fascinating. You guys do a great job. Many thanks to all involved! I am excited about checking out some of your train simulation products. Cheers! 🍻. -Brett on UP's Canyon Sub ( ex-WP) in Northern California.
I made the video with MJV here and yes we've made our own system for hand signals. When on the ground, depending on if you're moving or not, waving means start or stop. When riding the engines, if I'm up on the platform that means to keep coming. When I get down on the steps, it means to slow down or steady up and when I get down on the ground, it means to stop. It's a little primitive but it works and allows to have a little fun with it.
These videos are very helpful. I am planning on getting a good quality gaming computer and run8 plus all the addons this year or next year. If I was to join the server is there anyone willing to train me as an engineer?

Do you guys ever use any hand signals to switch? You do sometimes switch without air?

How can you tell car lengths if there aren't any cars nearby?
Standard car length is considered 50 ft.
Noob question, searched for this but can't find it, how do you step up onto a car or loco?
Get close to the ladder of the car and hit F11
@@hi8_vhs thanks!
No securement test on first cut of cars you cut away from lol. And pulling ahead car counts don’t matter
