Thanx for your comparison on real vs. fake...I have a number of real YETIs, but recently got a yeti at a 2nd hand store n didn't realize till home that I don't think it is a real YETI! My first question was the silver yeti name was on both sides instead of one side being raised. Then I had 2 side by side n when you pick them up there was an immediate difference in weight when you pick them up. I went n checked and definitely the fake is a lil taller n also silver band at top of fake narrower! So my question was answered...I also now own a fake-yeti. At least I didn't pay full price for this one!
Thanks for the review its good to know before someone makes a purchase on line i just bought that tumbler rambler sea foam from quabellas the other day
If I was able to register my YETI would that mean it's a genuine one? Got it as a gift, purchased on Amazon but reviews on there complain that some people got fake ones.
I would say if yeti themselves allowed you to register the product it’s most likely real. Like may large companies Amazon uses multiple vendors for items and there definitely has been strands of fakes pushed through the website
I weighed mine and it came in at 12.6 ounces; REI lists the 20 ounce Rambler as 12.7 ounces; Yeti website lists the 20 ounce Rambler at 12.7 ounces. How did you come up with 13.8 ounces?
are you weighing it with the lid on? The reason I ask this is because the lid adds approximately 1-1.3 ounces for example my 30 oz should weigh 16oz according to yeti but with a lid it’s 17.2 without the lid it’s 16 even
Who cares if its fake, they both come off the exact same assembly line in the exact same plant in China. Yeti just pays a generic company to stamp their logo on it at the end.
@@zonochromatica The engineers that designed the cup are also from China. And they get got paid for both of the cups in the video equally. One day Yeti was like we need to sell these 20 oz bottles. And they found a company in China that already made them for Ozark Trial and a bunch of other companies. And they told that company hey we will buy some if you stamp Yeti on them. Then they get shipped to Yeti with their logo and they sell it for twice as much. The weight difference is because it was made a long time ago and their manufacturing process has changed a little, maybe just thinner metal. What happened here is this company in China made too many at one point and had boxes of them sitting around in a corner for months or years until they gave them to some manager. That manager just sold them online. So still, its the exact same bottle from the exact same company in China made the exact same way.
@@clutchnixon5880 I disagree whole-heartedly i own many different brands and plan on doing a comparison video soon. The ozark trail is great for the money but does not perform as well as some of the more exspensive brands (Yeti,Rtic,Orca ect..)

05:20 The stainless steel rim at the top is wider on the real Yeti than the fake one on the right.

Lid was on! I bought mine from REI.
Roger Wong interesting I will have to find another 20 to weigh maybe it was a production situation
I just bought a 20oz mine weighs 13.62oz I wonder what the unpainted all stainless steel models weigh? Probably less I'd think.
Do they make fake 10 oz lowball also ?
i personally have not come across one however im sure there is one

Why is there a weight difference then? Also don't you want to pay the engineers who designed the cup?
