I feel the exact same way about taking down the Christmas decor. I love adding just a touch of winter as well. I always feel by adding touches of winter might help bring us a little snow! It is hard to say whether I like fall or Christmas better. I feel you can keep the fall decor up a little longer then Christmas. My question for you is how many children do you have and do you have any grandchildren?
I love things about every season of the year in different ways. But since i was young - have always enjoyed the christmas decorations. When the spring bulbs are coming up in early spring is a favorite time. It makes me think of life & of the spring of 1996. My momma had passed away in December & it was a very hard winter, she was my mother & also my best friend. That spring when some spring bulbs came up - it reminded me that life can go on & i had totally forgotten planting them in the fall before momma passed away - so those flowers brought me much joy.

I love your home and how you've decorated it. I'm kind of over that whole "farmhouse" style but I still like things about it...I guess I'm more eclectic but hey, that's ok too!! This is the first year that I've decorated for winter and I am loving it!!!! I live in IL so spring is VERY wet for us and our summers are very hot and humid so for my area, fall and winter are my favorite for decorating. I'm already working out my CHRISTmas decor for this year and will be creating some DIY's for that too!! Yes, I will pray for your friends!!! oh and that little trick you did with your hutch and removing that background, YOU ARE SO CLEVER!!! Yes the calendar may say it's a certain time of year but we have very few cool days. I love fall and winter but I don't like spring and summer because we have neither...it's mostly warm and humid in fall, winter, and spring and strictly hot in summer. We're enjoying a very cool day.
