    I’m 4 months out of knee replacement surgery in Uk. I stayed in hospital three days. Good luck with your surgery. It surprises me now that my knee doesn’t hurt when I walk. Pre surgery knee kills me after a short walk.

      Good to hear of your recovery process. Oddly , probably, I don't get pain as such, just the odd ache. But when last walking for a while, in Canada really, found I lapsed in to a shuffle after fifteen minutes or so. So I am looking forward to post op recovery, not feeling decrepit any more.

    Glad you enjoyed ‘Black Books’
    Now that’s my life
    I have run a Bookshop for the last 20 years & I have a sign on the door reading
    ‘ No Stupid People’
    Amuses the majority but upsets the woke!
    Love you musings- keep them coming

    Mark, Sending you best wishes from Montreal. I’ve had both knees replaced,one year apart, six years ago. Hope your rehabilitation goes smoothly.Thank goodness you ordered that chair, you will be happy you have it. I found when sitting in a regular arm chair, that it was tough getting from seated to standing. I could really have used a chair like that.

    Mark its probably better not to know too much just go with the flow. You will be fine. I stayed in 7 days first hip and 4 for the second one. No problems with the hospital at home after care with injections to stop DVT was worse.
    But 6 weeks after I could walk without crutches.
    Good luck for Monday, I was first in as well. The epidural was great. You will be fine.

      I don’t think they do injections for prophylactic DVT anymore. I think they handle it by pill and regulate by blood testing.

    Hope all goes well with the surgery Mark. I saw the hip surgeon last week and am on the list for a total replacement in about 3 months. He asked if I would like to go home the same day! I said no as I think it’s a big responsibility on my husband. It seems I don’t have a choice about general anaesthetic- 99% of his cases are epidurals and he does 10 a week so I’d better go with the flow. 😖

    • @markgower7163
      @markgower7163 Год назад

      Epidurals are quicker to recover from. And the hip joint is more efficient than the knee, also easier to recover from replacement.

  • @kathyeyesopen4078
    @kathyeyesopen4078 Год назад +2

    Mark, it will be the same as when you had colonoscopy! First they give you a little medicine in your intravenous line that will put you to sleep! You won’t even feel the epidural and won’t awaken till it’s all over! It will go fine and in a few months time you will be walking like you did 10 years ago. Good wishes to you and Kathy. I know you will be so relieved very soon. ❤
