Recognise these, my GrandDad Worked at Airfix For 15 years making the molds For the Tank, Soldiers, planes And many more models, i have the Exact same Soldier As This is a German Infantry soldier from airfix So its nice to see one.
A few people have suggested this to me in the past. The reason it looks so rough is from my x-acto knife not making the cleanest cuts. I appreciate your comment, buddy, have a great day.
@@Jamesviolaofficial You did a great job! I just started mini painting myself and found that clippers have made a better cut for me. Just a thought from a beginner. :) Either way, great job! You have a new subscriber!
Your technique is fine I’m sure because the end result looks great 🎉…. what I learnt was to start with the skin, then the undergarment that shows, then the next layer up like the shirt… then jacket or other outer garment, then belts buckles and weapons etc. so I guess they are likely the ‘lowest’ parts but I guess it also means from the inside of the model to the outer side
Yes, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for clarifying. I am very clumsy with the brush at times and I usually save the skin/face for last so I don't inevitability get the wrong color on it.
It’s all different but I’d recommend checking out BMC toys if you’re going to buy new. The really cheap army men are usually pretty busted looking. Vintage army men are pretty affordable compared to most model kits and have decent sculpts. It requires a bit of research
I know right. I think my videos have gotten a lot better at showing the before and after. This is over a year old now. Check out some of my recent ones if you have time 🤘
After all that detail work, gloss coat, and give it a black wash of thin acrylics, then wipe off with damp cloth, revealing highlites .....makes for a beautiful sight ...... leave gloss for TOY soldiers look, or Dulcote for more serious look 😁👍❤🇺🇸
Metallica fits. A lot of base of their songs are military, war. Megadeath also has some great songs relating to this topic. Ya those are sweet m& for sure
Thanks George! I use a mix Vallejo and Army Painter paints. Ive linked them in the description. I also use a few different brushes, most of then are Masters Touch Acrylic from Hobby Lobby. Very inexpensive
Gday mate! Greetings from NJ. I appreciate the comment. To your point about the seam: I’ve learned with this older type of soft plastic you have to use a bit of heat to get everything nice and smooth. Please check out some of my new shorts and you’ll see I did a bit better in the clean up phase. Thanks again 🤘
@@JamesviolaofficialHello. Yes correct heat does the job. But I ended up with kind of a rough look. Sometimes some seems are not to bad depending on the figures,👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
This video is quite old and I paint a little differently bow. Do you mean from the center out or from the lowest pieces to the highest? I typically go around the edges (tie in) and then paint the inside so I don’t risk running over the edges. I’m curious if you have an example you can share?
and then when your playing with that with all the other normal soldiers, you're gonna make him the main character and make him not die and kill everybody else

Usually I hate people destroying toys but this is actually amazing, great job!
For the people wondering I'm pretty sure these are the airfix WW2 german infantry guys.
Yup. I had a few of these in 1/72 when I was a kid.
That looks about right but not the earlier late 60s version. Probably the approx 1973 version in 1/35

We need army men toys like this.
we already have hand painted army men its called britains deetail
Not what he meant he meant more German army soldiers

Great sculpture of a WWII German infantryman! Congratulations, you have the skills and hands needed to succeed, keep going!

Holy thats terrifyingly detailed miniature
Nice music taste!!!
This is a work of art. The Figure is nice too.
(Disposable heroes or no remorse would fit better)
That is absolutely beautiful work
Impeccable work! 🇧🇷
Thats sick🔥🔥I must try that.
Realistic army men😮
Making me crave wanting to paint up some 1/32s with modern acrylics...
I don’t paint on my army mans but this is very good!
Thanks so much
You might wanna try sanding your figures a bit for your next one, should give the figure a smoother finish

Ive been told this is actually a great way to start learning to paint minitures in general.
It’s definitely an affordable entry into the hobby since there’s so much to learn.

Noting first, you’re a far better painter than I am, have you considered putting these on 25mm bases that are sold for wargaming?
This one is on a 32mm base I think. The stances of most 1/32 scale army men are a bit too wide for 28mm

Unfortunately I don’t posses the ability to paint on a microscopic scale
