I saw Little Mac side by side with Pit in the thumbnail, and immediately thought, "What if Pit was the secret fighter, whenever the next Punch Out game drops?" Lol
My idea for a new Punch Out is having an original female protagonist maybe name her “Little Mackenzie” or something lol and having her fight other popular women from Nintendo such as Peach, Daisy, Zelda, Samus, Lucina and even underrated girls like Kumatora.
Without naming any particular dormant IP (Lord knows I can name em all) I think what I'd most like to see is a revival in the spirit of Kid Icarus Uprising. Take an unassuming IP from a bygone era and create a game out of it that feels like it was warped into our reality from some alternate world where the series had evolved alongside Mario, Zelda, and the others.
I could easily see Ice Climber getting this treatment. Its main characters got in Smash three times despite only having one game. They could stand to get a second one.
@@TheDanielCityHeroes A meta game where Nana and Popo opine that they used to climb mountains, and now they're so old they can really only climb the pile of waste at their dump? A co-op riff on Celeste? Something else?
@@Volvagia1927 I mean something like a 3D platformer, like a slightly more vertical version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, where they're keeping a few villages in an arctic region safe from a band of yetis or an evil ice queen's army or something. It could be to ice levels what Luigi's Mansion is to haunted levels and stretch out what you can do with it. Add in a bunch more characters, maybe make one of them an in-level ally, someplace to give them more climbing gear or hammer attacks or ice powers; just generally expanding their world to actually be a world instead of just "here's a mountain, jump to the top."
I would really like to see a Star Wolf-focused Star Fox spin-off where you get to play as Wolf, Leon, Pigma, and Andrew. Similar to how you could pick a character in Star Fox 2. It would also be interesting to have the ability to use the Wolfen ships, and feature boss fights where you dogfight with the Star Fox team.
Even if just one or two of these franchises made a comeback I'd be really happy! It's crazy to me that Donkey Kong has gone so long without any sort of new instalment, I think a new 3D game could be incredibly fun. Wario Land has also been on my wish list for ages now, and Kid Icarus easily deserves another chance (the dialogue alone made uprising worth playing imo!) Great vid!
Here’s a meme for you hope you enjoy. 😐”Nintendo needs to use more of their dormant franchises” 😃 **Nintendo:** “Sure! Here’s Famicom Detective Club Remakes, Advance Wars Reboot Camp, F-Zero 99, Another Code Recollection, and Endless Ocean Luminous!” 😠”But those aren’t the ones “I want! And those are mostly remakes!”
When he said a new earthbound game I was so excited, and less than 2 seconds later I started crying and laughing at the same time. I wish somebody other than myself could of seen it
For me and many others my fellow Fighters want to see Fossil Fighters come back since its 2018 trademark I miss it so much and been replaying it again Fossil Fighters is an underrated Nintendo IP that gets overshadowed by Pokemon. Edit: Fossil Fighters carried the DS era and it coming back in the Switch Successor would be awesome to see and Monster Taming is becoming more popular since Palworld blew up and the indie scene as well with Cassette beasts,Coromon, and Nexomon.
There’s little to no chance this will ever happen but my dream Nintendo comeback aside from F-Zero would be a remake or sequel to Eternal Darkness Sanity’s Requiem
Great choices. There's still so many great franchises that weren't represented on Switch despite us receiving so much, and now is the perfect time for Nintendo to reinvest in more teams to bring us some of these days. What I would do for a new Donkey Kong, Star Fox, and Wario Land...
I recommend are Ex Zodiac, gridd retroenhanced, and Astrodogs as Starfox successors. I recommend Yooka-Laylee the Impossible Lair, and Kaze the Wild Masks, their based on DKC. Antonblast is coming, it's based on Wario Land.
I don't know how I never saw the connection between StarTropics and The Touryst until you pointed it out, that makes me want a revival even more than before!
This video made me a new subscriber to your channel. It's so fascinating to see your view on all these different franchises and I love your enthusiasm. You have this positive energy that just makes me want to sit down and listen what you have to say all day. I love that you view things in a factual state and that scene with a Donkey Kong beach bar-game genuinely made me laugh. I'd be fine with a game like that too! Just imagine with the Switch 2 having the graphical power like an Xbox Series S to demonstrate a beautiful beach with a sunset like that one DKCR level. There were also some franchises that looked really fun and I didn't even know they existed, e.g. Waveracer! Keep up the work. I'll be definitely tuning in the next videos!
Ik alphadream is gone but i still think the mario & luigi needs to comeback. If smrpg and paper mario could then why not m&l? Its one of the more popular mario spin offs imo. Also great vid!
Wonderful Video! As someone who has been a fan for Kid Icarus for a LONGG TIME, it genuinely needs revival! It could definitely have benefitted from being on the switch or consoles that had controls that could fit kid icarus uprising better than the 3DS. As much as I love kid icarus uprising, it suffers a lot from being on the 3ds. It gets really uncomfortable to play (so bad to the point nintendo has made an accessory to making that specific game in particular a little more managable to play) and while the visuals are gorgeous, sometimes it just ends up becoming very laggy due to the many projectiles/models on screen. Also what could have possibly damaged its sales is how early into the 3ds life it was released, and since the 3ds wasnt initally super popular, it possibly could have suffered the consequences of being released on a "failing" handheld at the time. Also not to mention its unique and effective way of telling the story via character dialogue during gameplay and its great customization combat wise, it seriously needs another entry!
Okay, so this never really had a second entry like ARMS, but one game I'd love to see to get a second game (like ARMS), and I'm utterly floored it hadn't gotten a Switch comeback yet despite most other Wii U titles having gotten one, is *Nintendo Land.* It was a cute launch title for Wii U with multiplayer and some love to other Nintendo franchises. I'm genuinely surprised that 1-2-Switch if all things got a sequel over ARMS _and_ Nintendo Land.
nintendo land is because it’s so hardwired into the Wii U’s identity. it’s one of the few games that takes full advantage of the game pad and quite literally doesn’t work without it. a sequel would either have to completely change the types of games it has to just 4 player split screen, or nintendo would need to invest in a jackbox style type of game where you use your phone instead of the game pad. and arms literally solid like 2 million. it was a MASSIVE flop, and missed in the competitive scene.
Ideas for new breeds if Nintendogs comes back: Greyhound Australian cattle dog Shikoku Havanese Westie Staffie (Also, in addition to birds and fish, would like to see rodents, bunnies, hedgehogs, reptiles, amphibians, and bugs as additional pets)
Also, would like to see Fossil Fighters return (possibly with new vivosaurs, would like to see their take on Mosasaurus, Kamuysaurus, Corythosaurus, Stegouros, megalodon, the dire wolf, the Haast’s eagle, Megalania (devil dragon), Beelzebufo (devil frog), and Gigantopithecus)
I would kill for a new Punch Out, even if it’s just a small eShop title. Maybe import some of the motion controls from Arms as an option if they don’t do anything more with that series. Also the EarthBound bit made me laugh and cry ‘cause it’s true.
For me the two IPs from this list that I NEED to return are F-Zero and Starfox… While I’m sure the others are great, these two titles have what it takes to become Nintendo mainstays if they were just given a proper chance. Unfortunately, big daddy Miyamoto seems to have something against these two hidden gems :/
With how they brought older IP to the forefront recently, it would be great if some of these were the focus for the launch of Switch's successor. Because a lot of them would easily effectively show off capabilities immediately I feel. I mean, they're not main stuff, but variety is healthy (a huge reason why Gamecube library is my favorite for Nintendo), and these franchises generally can take far more risks I feel (which could hopefully lead to incredibly unique expriences).
I mean, literally all they have to do is emulate the Gamecube system into their console, and let us load the ROMs we've had in our collection, and go from there.
Chibi Robo immediately came in my head when I saw the title. original gamecube one and ds's clean sweep were masterpiece. It deserved more sequels like clean sweep one.
I consider F-Zero 99 to be a good start and a fantastic idea to show Nintendo that there is an audience for F-Zero, I have 200+ hours clocked into the game I play it almost daily it’s that addicting, hoping we get the lost media BS content to really bring attention to the game, so far as of version 1.3.0 we got Mirror Tracks which slightly change how you play on the vanilla tracks and there’s even Smart Steering for those who find it difficult to play. My pipe dream is them bringing over Super Mario Kart tracks into the game since 8 Deluxe already borrowed tracks from F-Zero.
I know that the comment about a game featuring DK running a beach bar was meant to be a joke…but wow I’d buy that game so fast Edit: AND it’d be perfect for gratuitously impressing the crowd with beautiful water graphics, just like you say…!
@@NintendoHero I recommend are Ex Zodiac, gridd retroenhanced, and Astrodogs as Starfox successors. I recommend Yooka-Laylee the Impossible Lair, and Kaze the Wild Masks, their based on DKC. This was such a satisfying list of Nintendo games that need a comeback! For me, Wario Land & Kid Icarus deserves it the most, but F-Zero and Pilotwings are also good options.
Punch out on the new console would 100% be a SMASH hit. They could bring back mario as the referee like they did with the NES title and bring back some more characters from super punch out(and also some new characters as well) There would probably be 3 circuits, but maybe 4.
I don’t wanna burst your bubble, but I don’t think a new Rhythm Heaven game will be coming any time soon. The original creator, Tsunku, lost his voice due to the treatment of his laryngeal (larynx) cancer. That’s not to say I don’t want a new Rhythm Heaven because I really do! I just can’t see it happening. 😔
I'm glad you mentioned Chibi Robo at the end. But perplexed that you didn't mention them alongside the companies that went bankrupt. The developer Skip Ltd shut down a number of years ago.
7 years later with the Nintendo Switch: Nothing for a new Star Fox game or a remake about Adventures / Assault, nothing for a new Kid Icarus game or a Uprising remaster, nothing for a new F-Zero or a GX remaster, only 2 Metroid games with no life sound anymore about Metroid Prime 4 who have been announced on the Nintendo Switch there was 7 years ago and meanwhile too much cash grab games with somes games who s*cks such Pokemon and his community keep complaint on the last games such graphics, FPS issue, lags, difficult too easy and others stuff (no longer wonder why Digimon > Pokemon), Mario, Fire Emblem and Kirby beeing announced each years on the Nintendo Switch while Nintendo forget their other video game serie. So no longer wonder why the next Nintendo console is already a failure. What the point to buy a next console who gonna turn arround each years on the same video game such Mario, Pokemon, Fire Emblem and Kirby as a cash grab games while Nintendo will not move their a*s for release their others video game serie such Star Fox, Metroid, Kid Icarus or F-Zero? However I will buy their next console only if they release a new Star Fox, Metroid, Zelda or Smash on it since those 4 games are my main reason to be a Nintendo gamer than a Xbox or Playstation gamer but I will not expecting anything special for their next console when we see what they did during those 7 years with the Nintendo Switch since Iwata isn't here anymore between the paying online that Iwata was against it when he was alive and too much Wii U port that I have avoid them due to have already them on my Wii U so there was no point to buy twice the same game for the exact content, specially when it's a Mario game so it's not like if we have a lack of Mario games on Switch unlike Star Fox and Metroid huh?
considering tomodachi life sold 6 million (one of the highest selling releases for games in this video) we probably will get a new game eventually. Miitopia was probably just a test.
What happened to Chibi Robo still breaks my heart to this day. It needs a comeback so bad. Also yes im hoping for Pushmo and Sin and Punishment to come back theyre some of my favorite series
FZero is... well it's FZero we'll always need it. Nintendogs is SO DAMN HUGE if we get a new (third?) entry, Pilotwings would be nice too, Kid Icarus is necessary at this point, I don't know anything about rhythm heaven, ALL your DK ideas sound from "pretty neat" to "this is almost as good as 30 gamecubes" on the Scott the Woz scale, Punchout would be cool, Tomodachi Life is, again, very necessary, StarFox would be cool, Waverace would be really cool, I feel like I've vaguely heard of Startropics on a YT channel, but I don't remember anything about it, I would CRY if we didn't get a WAHrio Land/World game on Switch 2, and have no idea what Golden Sun is. Hope I didn't miss any, and these do all deserve a comeback.
I really want the panel de pon/Puzzle league series to be revived and i would want it to feature the fairy characters and be released in the west with the fairy characters, that wound be amazing but i kinda don't see that happening.
Kid Icarus and Rhythm Heaven are the games I hope get more entries on the switch 2. Uprising is my favorite 3DS game of all time and the fact that a sequel never materialized is actually insane to think about. Rhythm Heaven is something I got into really recently but its odd that a switch one was never developed, as I think it is the perfect system for one!
Am I the only one who thinks Metroid has atleast sold we'll enough for its own new comic book mini series adaptation, or atleast have some of the old Metroid Mangas rereleased physically he're in the US we're Metroid is actually popular?
Just think, The Switch was Nintendo not even firing on all cylinders but just properly advertising what it had. The Switch 2 will absolutely crush the Switch’s records if Nintendo brings most of these franchises back properly. Kirby is an 8 million seller now and that is literally Donkey Kong numbers so Donkey should be hitting 20 million copies with a full blown 3D adventure, Xenoblade is taking the place of Golden Sun and selling about as much so Golden Sun can sell 3 to 4 million, Star Fox appeals to a whole different kind of Nintendo fan and can easily sell millions thanks to Smash, Wario Land would be a welcome addition to 2D or even 3D platformers, Punch Out would be a welcome addition to the lineup with very few boxing games these days, and F Zero can find its niche again and capitalize on Mario Kart’s success as a racer. The Switch can be just the beginning of Nintendo’s success and not its peak if they really throw everything at the Switch 2.
I have a dream to become an Independent game developer, that way I can develop spiritual successors to old IPs that are neglected or maybe partner with the companies to develop the games for them (even though it's not likely).
Hi there, I love my switch a lot like can’t not be with it. I’m starting to go through all my games because there’s loads I want to buy. New subscriber
Feels nice seeing another Startropics fan. Maybe one day. I can say that the sequel was really good, and I slightly prefer it. Honestly I don't think it would be a problem to sail the 7 seas and say "arr" at this point. It ain't on NSO.
For Punch out 2, if we got one, i imagine that half the fighters are girls and the other guys. Maybe one of them could be Glass joe's wife? She wants to wins the belt and take revenge on Mac for beating her husband. That would be fun and developped this character 🙂Maybe Doc louis will get married and have a daughter; Mac will train her like Doc trained him? Sounds cool to me!
You know what really deserves a comeback? Arcade cabinets. NAMCO and SEGA have been doing all of the work with F-ZERO, Mario Kart, and Luigi's Mansion. Grow some mushrooms, Nintendo. Make your own damn arcade machines. You used to be really good at that in the early eighties.
Here's the best way to make a new Star Fox game: Combine the rail shooter gameplay of Star Fox 64 and add the multiplayer of Star Fox: Assault and boom. A Star Fox game that makes everyone happy without it turning into Mass Effect for furries
I honestly can't see Star Fox Adventures as a Star Fox game. The actual flying sections are terrible in comparison to most of the other titles, and the characters feel shoehorned in, since they kinda were. Star Fox Zero felt more like a Star Fox game than Adventure, despite both being solid experiences.
I think the problem is that a lot of these series were just too close to others. Kid Icarus was too close to Metroid (Original series) and Starfox (Uprising). Donkey Kong Country is too close to Super Mario. Star Tropics is too close to Zelda. Pilotwings is too close to Wii Sports/Switch Sports. And though it pains me to say it, F-Zero is too close to Mario Kart. Nintendo ends up competing with its own flagship series.

Donkey Kong, F-Zero, Star Fox, Rhythm Heaven, Punch Out, and Golden Sun NEED to come back.
That intro was incredible!
"can we have a new rhythm heaven please"
"were gonna take down heaven studio and announce nothing"
Am I the only one who thinks Metroid has atleast sold we'll enough for its own new comic book mini series adaptation, or atleast have some of the old Metroid Mangas rereleased physically he're in the US we're Metroid is actually popular?
I really enjoyed this video. It's fun to dream on what Nintendo could do with some of these neglected series.
Gotta click on any video with kid icarus in the thumbnail, god I hope we get an uprising sequel
The Switch can be just the beginning of Nintendo’s success and not its peak if they really throw everything at the Switch 2.
in what reality is donkey kong going from an average of 4 million units per game (in the last 20 years) to 20 million…
See rhythm heaven instant like
Wii version was a late entry so you never know
Nostalgia is painful
Donkey kong 3D plaformer is a no brainer. Shorther than dk64. Maybe 10-20 hrs
8:02 we just got Mario vs donkey Kong in February. Mix try
13:34 fin.
1:33 It's because there are no new ideas. Technically a major new fan game like Oddity (just renamed Mother 4) could be the official next Mother game
Tomodachiiiii
I have a dream to become an Independent game developer, that way I can develop spiritual successors to old IPs that are neglected or maybe partner with the companies to develop the games for them (even though it's not likely).
I’d actually like it if Nintendo revived Ice Climbers mostly because I’m very curious about what they’d do with it.
Ive been watching for years still love you nintendo hero
Brain Age, Custom Robo and Chibi-Robo just to name a few.
Bro just leaked the new DK game The Bannana Peel
Hi there, I love my switch a lot like can’t not be with it. I’m starting to go through all my games because there’s loads I want to buy. New subscriber
🌊🌊 WAVE RACE 🌊🌊
Feels nice seeing another Startropics fan. Maybe one day. I can say that the sequel was really good, and I slightly prefer it.
Honestly I don't think it would be a problem to sail the 7 seas and say "arr" at this point. It ain't on NSO.
i see rhythm heaven i click
For Punch out 2, if we got one, i imagine that half the fighters are girls and the other guys. Maybe one of them could be Glass joe's wife? She wants to wins the belt and take revenge on Mac for beating her husband. That would be fun and developped this character 🙂Maybe Doc louis will get married and have a daughter; Mac will train her like Doc trained him? Sounds cool to me!
Okay, hear me out… BILLY freakin’ HATCHER
That’s Sega lil bro
Shoot… you’re right. It was only on Nintendo GameCube though, am I right?
Warioland shake it would be a awesome comeback
I would propose a remake/remaster of Star Fox Adventures one day.
dude my dad works at Nintendo and I can tell you with 99.99% certainty that at least half of these are coming back.
Where’s chibi robo?
What if Streetpass, but on mobile??
rhythm heaven mentioned
You know what really deserves a comeback? Arcade cabinets. NAMCO and SEGA have been doing all of the work with F-ZERO, Mario Kart, and Luigi's Mansion.
Grow some mushrooms, Nintendo. Make your own damn arcade machines. You used to be really good at that in the early eighties.
Here's the best way to make a new Star Fox game: Combine the rail shooter gameplay of Star Fox 64 and add the multiplayer of Star Fox: Assault and boom. A Star Fox game that makes everyone happy without it turning into Mass Effect for furries
how is bro gonna use the earthbound title screen theme and not include mother 😭
So want Fossil Fighters back.
It a good idea
Punch out Need to make come back we need new punch out Game .🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊
My Goat
DK! Donkey Kong!
Chibi robo ☹️
I think the problem is that a lot of these series were just too close to others. Kid Icarus was too close to Metroid (Original series) and Starfox (Uprising). Donkey Kong Country is too close to Super Mario. Star Tropics is too close to Zelda. Pilotwings is too close to Wii Sports/Switch Sports. And though it pains me to say it, F-Zero is too close to Mario Kart. Nintendo ends up competing with its own flagship series.
