Hi Thanks for a great Tutorial. One Question. Whats the ratio for crimp cover to the crimps? I see below a 4mm crimp cover to size 1 crimp bead. Will the 4mm Crimp cover, cover other sizes of crimps or do you have to go to a bigger cover? Thanks very much.
You can use a 4mm crimp cover to cover a crimp bead up to size #2 or crimp tube #3. The larger size crimp covers are mostly for a decorative purpose. You just need to be sure that the crimp bead or tube isn’t too small that it slips out of the hole in the crimp cover once it’s closed.
Are the crimp covers and the wire guardian have specific size? My issue is the difficulty to get the crimp cover over the crimp bead. The wire guardian is too scratchy on the skin or am I doing it wrong?
Yes. Make sure that you are using a 4mm crimp cover if you are going over a size 2 crimp tube or size 1 crimp bead. And make sure that you gently pinches the ends of the wire guardians closed so that they meet above the crimp cover. Sometimes, they can be scratchy. If it’s too uncomfortable, I would recommend eliminating that step and using silver color or gold color wire to string the design instead.
