Two problems with his 160 hour story, given 2 week pay period. 1. Taco Bell is not going to fork over that much overtime. Never. 2. Since he was in highschool when he worked there, he couldn't have worked those hours. It's illegal to empty minors over a certain amount of hours a week. Child labor laws restrict how many hours they can work a week. Even if they are not in school they are limited to 8 hours a day period. That means a max of 56 hours a week. This kid is a liar.

He probably meant 160 hours a paycheck and he got paid biweekly... and most definitely worked at two different stores. Even then that's insane. I was doing around 70+ hours a week for about a month at one point. I worked at two different 7 elevens like a mile apart from each other, I would work at one for 8 hours and then immediately drive to the other and work for another 8 hours, then go home and sleep for 6-7 hours. That was 3 of my days of the week, 3 other days were single shift days, and I had 1 day off. Its doable, but definitely would not recommend. The only part that doesn't make sense to me, even assuming he just misspoke about the 160 hours a week part, is getting $3000 a paycheck. No Taco Bell ever is going to let someone get 40 hours of overtime a week. And in my situation I was only making around $800 a week so only $1600 biweekly working for $11/h.
I was working about 110 hours a week, maybe bringing home 800 bucks. Ended up building my company up and did 360k my first year. 4 years later, my house is paid off, 2 new vehicles, kids set up. Hard work pays off
I did the math just to be sure... I could be wrong, but he said he was doing 160 a week... which is physically impossible... so i was thinking maybe he meant a month... and he did say his checks were around 3,500... if you just divided 160 from 3,500... you get the amount he was getting paid hourly, so he was getting paid around 21 an hour, and if you divide 160 by 40 a week, then you get 4, which is around the the length of a month. To make a long story short... he was just working a 9 - 5.
In the full interview, he clarifies he meant 60 hours a week. He wasn’t a taco maker, he was the assistant manager making about $25 an hour, $1500 a week, $72,000 a year with loads of overtime that managers don’t qualify for but assistant managers do.
Bro, I work at Taco Bell the starting pay for an assistant Manager is 18$ bro is not making 25 not even general managers be making 25 an hour if you made salary into a hourly rate bro Is lying I work 50 to 60 hours a week and I make about 2200 every 2 weeks
Bro prolly only worked 22 hrs a week but then kept over exaggerating every time he talked about it. Now he’s just saying that he worked 160 hrs a week without actually realizing how dumb it sounds.
@@hogant.551 Not to mention, I've never seen a 24 hour Taco Bell, which cuts it down to day shifts and Fri/Sat/Suns being open til the latest, typically 3am.
If he worked in my state it only takes 147 hours a week to hit 3000. 40 hours at minimum (15$) and then 107 at 1.5 times. Still pretty unbelievable by potentially possible. 2k though is completely possible, but probably only a 1 week per month thing max. I knew a guy who made close to that when I was working during the summer in high school. He made a little more than minimum (17 or 18 I think) but I remember he said he made like 1900 one time or something like that, and the way our hours worked out we weren’t even open for that that many hours (9 am-6pm iirc mon-wedn, 9-8 thur-sun I think, in reality about an hour later than that most days to close up if it wasn’t super empty before closing time)
@@Underpantsniperthat'd also be 22.5 hours a day to sleep. Bro was supposedly sleeping and hour and a half a day and still had time to go back to school supposedly
People here are misunderstanding. He wasn’t working 23 hours a day at taco bell. Obviously he would work 160 hours straight and go home one day a week for 8 hours before getting back on that grind.
Dude working 160 hours straight like that would kill you. There's no way he could sustain that kind of life for a few months much less a few years. The body doesn't react well to a few days without sleep, a full week without a long consistent rest is just dumb. Kid's just bad at numbers, that's why he went to BJs.
I failed 12th grade and decided I wasnt doing another year so I dropped out and went to a charter school, tested out of my classes and got my diploma a few months later. Joined the Army right after and been largely successful since. What defines you are your actions
he is a liar. To make 3,000 dollars a week at taco bell is impossible. You need to make $21 an hour which no taco bell pays anyone who isn't a manager, and need to work 160 hours a week which seeing how a week is 168 hours unless he lived in a taco bell isn't physically possible.
It’s also impossible af. There’s 168 hours in a week, you can’t do that AND go to school AND go to sleep unless you’re somehow at Taco Bell, at school, and asleep simultaneously at least several times throughout the week. That is physically impossible to do.
For context he was working like Homer at the Kwik-E-Mart in the Simpsons. Gets home from shift, lies in bed, alarm goes off and instantly then goes back to work 😂
160 hours.. 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week is 168. I’ve worked two jobs at 10-12 hours a day 5-6 days a week and I was insanely tired. There is just no way this guy worked multiple 24 hour shifts in a week, weeks on end. I think may have worked 60 hours in a week and misspoke. There is no way he worked 160 hours. I’d put money on that. He’d be falling asleep at work. I’ve skipped 3-4 days of sleep and you can pass out with even the briefest momentary eye close when you sit down.. so again.. this dude either misspoke or is lying.
The only way I'd slightly believe it, is if he misspoke meaning it was 160 hours in a pay period(2 weeks; 16 hours a day). That is still definetly a lie. Fast foot joints don't offer people 8 hour shifts as it makes employees eligible for other benefits.
@@UndefinedStasis when I worked at a Taco Bell they had employees, probably a little over half the staff, that worked 8 hour days and got benefits, but none of them were under the age of 18(I don't know how old he was claiming to be when this took place). I'm sure there was exaggeration here he dditn break out a calculator to do the math of 16x7 or 6 which is 96 or 112 hours. Which I've done as a nurse and literally slept in my car b4 going back in a few of those nights
If you worked all day everyday at minimum wage for two weeks, after taxes, you’re still probably not making 2k. Not including time and half. If he meant 160 a pay period( 2 weeks) that’s still only 1500 pre-tax. Including time and a half.

The legality is the least of my concerns

I’ve skipped 3-4 days of sleep and you can pass out with even the briefest momentary eye close when you sit down.. so again.. this dude either misspoke or is lying.
The only way I'd slightly believe it, is if he misspoke meaning it was 160 hours in a pay period(2 weeks; 16 hours a day). That is still definetly a lie. Fast foot joints don't offer people 8 hour shifts as it makes employees eligible for other benefits.
