    Mike, I was using self-check at CVS. I scanned about 8 items and put everything in one bag, except for one item that was too large for the first bag. I put it into a second bag, paid and left the store. I had a person chase me to my car demanding to see my receipt. He was also acting arrogantly as if he were happy that he caught a crook. He then reviewed my purchases and receipt and realized everything I had was paid for. I told him this is the last time I will use self-checkout and will demand that they open a register.

    This video was the best! Everything you said is so true. Totally agree with everything. I get so mad when I go into kmart and there's no one on the registers. From now on I'll be saying..... NO THANKU I DONT WORK HERE. That is a beauty and so true. Thanks for this great video. Hi to Lisa 😊

    Hi Mike! I have been telling this to people for years now. When I was in Target the other day. One of the cashiers was standing around, I asked "are you open, she snapped and said she had to watch the self-checkout". How stupid. If they don't trust you to checkout properly, they should check you out. So, she was supervising civilians that don't even work there. I never use self-check-out. I am retired, so, NO I don't want to do their job for them. If you go shopping with me, I am going to an open check stand. Thank you, Mike for stating the obvious for other people!

      Agree, we should not be doing the job, the problem is by doing it yourself you are taking someone's job away

    Self serve checkouts are a waste of time, I much more prefer the normal checkout where they do it for you. You have made some good points in this video!

      Have never used a self serve check out and not planning to.

    I prefer the self-serve checkouts. at traditional checkouts I always get stuck with the slowest customer and the slowest cashier. If you're buying a trolley full going to the cashier makes sense but I almost always have less than a basket full and self-serve is a breeze.

      It's all fun and games till there is no choice and them the self serve check out breaks down.

    Thanks Mike, I remember the service stations back in the day. I got sick of using the self service checkouts at Woolies. I am now using click & collect making them do all the work for me. Haven't been disappointed by there choice, normally if they don't have the product, you get a better deal due to price match and you come out a winner. If you don't like the freshness of something or damaged packaging etc they will refund you no questions asked.

      Sounds like an option, however I believe they force you to buy bags when you do this, I have never bought a bag, goes against my religion.

    • @darrin4791
      @darrin4791 Месяц назад +1

      There is an option before fulfilling the transaction to pay for there bags or opt for none at all. You will just have to pack the groceries yourself when delivered to your vehicle. Cheers hope that helps.

      @@darrin4791 It actually does help, I did not know that was an option, I will definitely take a look at that. I actually have a method for shopping and how I transport my groceries. I might make a video about that. It's very efficient and beats buying bags any day. 👍👍

    I walked out of our local coles once cause they had only self serve after 7.30pm. Not going to work for free and be watched over while i do it. I think they have backflipped now as i went the other day at 8.30pm and there was one manned register open. All your reasons are correct. Especially the convenience one. Yet like 80% of the people i talk to say it is more convenient. Rubbish. Someone doing it for you is more convenient, and you can talk to the cashier and anyone waiting. No need to deal with computers. Cashiers are almost always quicker too, as that is what they do everyday. If they ever do get rid of cashiers (I hope they don't as i prefer going to the supermarket and actually interacting with customers and staff) I'll do click and collect or delivery and give someone a job that way.

      Yes, I have seen that at our local coles, no registers open after a certain time. That's when you speak to the self serve attendant and ask for a manager and get them to scan the item's for you.

    Maybe it's a bit off-topic, but for me, the most annoying thing is needing to call the bank and being connected only to automated systems (phone robots). These systems keep you in a loop without providing any useful answers, and it often takes about 20 attempts before I can speak to a real person. It's a real hassle.
