Yea the outrage is only because its Liverpool. Calling it a monumental error is ridiculous. A monumental error would be a wrongly disallowed goal or a red that should not have been given, both of which happened to us and were not called "monumental errors" by EPL refs
In the context of the game it was if not a monumental error certainly a major error given with 1.51 seconds to play forest would of had the ball pretty much just outside the Liverpool penalty area
@johnlewis9158 the ball went forwards and backwards and even went out for a throw in during that 2 mins, so to complain about that is Laughable. I mean Forest tried dribbling out from edge of box from the corner instead of clearing the ball so it's that, that actually lost them the game.

Why do you think blindly throwing money for 10yrs getting different styles of players mixed in with different styles of manager, would get you winning?
How is it the most expensive team assembled when their CF and best CB are injured. United have literally had their best 11 on the field in literally 2 games this season. City were held for a whole half by Evan’s and a makeshift back 4…nothing to shout about.
@@MrGts92there is no different style lol it’s always the same with yanited… sit back & counter & hit it long to the fast guys up front 😂 underdog football
Was probably his best tactic to be honest. Because if Man U tried to play, then they would have got spanked on the counter time and time again to the point it would have ended worse than 3-1.
City are susceptible to conceding goals in transition. Had Rashford scored that goal where he didn't head the ball in his path, it would have been a completely different game. Utd also had several chances on the counter which they didn't capitalise. Arsenal and Liverpool will be watching at this weakness with the City team.

I don't like that Neville is playing down the idea of clubs coming out about bad refereeing decisions. They're not trying to get the games replayed, it's about constantly highlighting the poor state of officiating in the game. Constantly acting like "it evens itself out" (despite numerous data showing that to not be remotely true) and brushing it under the rug is the reason that it's been allowed to fester and become as bad as it is. If referees are held accountable things will change, until then it'll keep happening. I'm a Liverpool fan, I agree that it's comical to say that the drop ball directly leads to the goal, there's several phases of play between the decision and the goal - but the reality is that it should've been a Forest drop ball and it IS a monumental error, not because of the goal up the other end, but because a referee has managed to get one of the most basic, day to day decisions wrong. That is why it's monumental, it's not a case of personal opinion, it's not a case of subjectivity, it's cut and dry, a shocking decision. Stop defending the pitiful refs.
City as a club are just run phenomenally and the players are so well coached. You could take 2 average united players (e.g. Lindelof and Mctominay) and they would probably play at a world class level in that City team.

I couldn’t help but laugh when they stated in agreement that “sport is susceptible to human error, these things happen” as if the errors we are seeing are not comically bad considering the technology they have to avoid these decisions now..
It was a massive error based on how much time was left in the game. Liverpool scored in the 99th minute when there was 8 minutes added on. If Forest had been given the ball back, pass around abit, might have got a set piece we don't know but what we do know is that the whistle would probably have blown sooner. It's not about the 2mins to the goal its the 1min to full time which is a big difference in context.
At this moment in time, Yanited had 11 men behind the ball. A real compact organized unit. Little runs forward. Little bus parked. For Yanited. A monumental error.
As a city fan ,we were brilliant but cannot be so against Liverpool next week ! , Manchester United have absolutely no midfield and look lost ! Its a joke what happened to their fans with them owners! One thing for sure they will be back ,. Glaziers out !
I wonder if he or Jamie thinks Liverpool were very emotional in their celebrations like they like to say about Arsenal all the time? Or Pep getting mad at the 4th official, didn't hear anything about it, funny.
Evans kept City extremely quiet, the moment that stable back 4 veteran is subbed off City bag 2 more It pays testament to the validity of older senior players, and also to why you need more than one of them in your squad, so the rest of the team don't fold when you're subbed off at 70mins
But it was monumental. The error led to a goal. Whether it's hypocrisy or not is a different argument, but the fact of the matter is that the error was indeed monumental because it changed the whole outcome of the game.
@@B0X2B0X Yes but with 1.51 seconds to play Forest would of had the ball just outside the Liverpool penalty area. That said this wasn't a case of referee making a bad in play call. So given that it was if not monumentally bad decision certainly a terrible one

Rashford 1 brilliant shot , 2 touches of a trampoline and twice bottled it when walker was chasing him down. Utd we’re on damage limitation even though going ahead early.
Just watched Pep's post match press conference. When asked about the sitter Haaland missed, he said he doesn't care if he misses 5 of those, as long as he puts it out of his mind within in 10 seconds and keeps pushing on. That could pretty much be said about the whole team. They go a goal down but they fight back with more determination. United does the complete opposite. And thats so evident when you see the likes of Rashford, Bruno et al have a mental breakdown if things are not going their way.
United had no left back, no striker, were playing a 36 year old centre back who was brought in to be an emergency back up, not their most reliable defender (Evans has arguably been United's best player this season which says a lot about where the club are right now), so yeah they set up to defend and counter and it could have been 2 or 3-1 to United at half time. In the second half, City turned the screw and showed why they're currently the best team in the world. United lost whatever energy they had left after the equaliser went in. From a United perspective, this season has been a write off for a while. Injuries has crushed any momentum they were building, just like they've derailed the whole season so far. Nothing has changed since Fulham and nothing is going to change now. The rest of the season is about muddling through with a view to some big decisions to be made in June.
Liverpool won a cup without basically 90% of their first team starters & are on for a quad 😂 ten hag still playing underdog counter attack football after spending a billion
I don't know where this idea that United played well in the first half comes from. City had plenty of chances and Rashford's goal sails over the bar 99 times out of 100. You think Utd deserved to be up 3-1 at half? Did they even have 3 attempts at half?
Neville is absolutely right in his comments about the referee in the Notts Forest game. Mistakes will always be made but they have to be kept in context. A monumental error was disallowing the Liverpool goal against Spurs despite VAR ruling it as good. That highlighted a fundamental flaw in the system.
Nah that ref mistake at forest yesterday was bad. There was 2mins left to play and Forest had been penned in for 20mins. Losing that territory at that point, in that way was huge. For it just to be handed to them...
Nothing was "handed" to Liverpool. All Forest had to do was lump the ball out of their area. Liverpool earned that goal by being relentless, alert, and clinical.
Regarding the error leading to a goal for Liverpool. Yes it was 1 minute 50 seconds, but there was 8 added on and it was played until the 100th...Also, if Forest get possession back they can do some game management and wait out the last minute, which they had worked hard to do in the first olace, but the ref took it away from them. Whats more, is this wasnt an isolated decision, the ref had been helping liverpool the entire match. Its also not isolated to this match, Forest, and many (other 14) teams have had to endure refs clear biases for the sky top 6 everytime you play them. If you dont think theres some corruption going on in the english top tier you're either blind to it or its benefitting your club so you dont care. And it isnt just the refs, clubs like Palace whove been in the premier league for 10+ seasons arent able to spend any money to try to continue to compete despite having billionaire owners, meanwhile chelsea can spend a billion in 18 months and no one bags an eyelid. Everything is designed around the premier league holding onto its assets (the sky 6 teams) in order to keep selling the TV rights at such ridiculous rates. The one people who miss out are the fans. The competition is almost nonexisting, youre not allowed to try and compete against the teams who are already there, its more expensive than ever to go to games, and paying for sky, BT, etc will soon only be for the rich whove ruined the league as these companies have to make the money back somehow, unlucky general public.
There were two yellow cards given to Forest players in extra time for time wasting, the Konate injury, the Forest keeper's injury, so more time was added to the eight minute MINIMUM put up on the board.
@@jamielee5695 Forest had the ball back...twice...after that call. Three times if you count when they should have cleared it instead of trying to dribble out of their own area and giving the ball away to Mac Allister. This whole "momentous decision" fume over a dropped ball call is utter nonsense.
@roshi98 It was Forest's fault for conceding, dribbling out instead of clearing your lines at that time is ridiculous. However, you surely can't see past my point here...the momentum completely swung as Liverpool were under the cosh prior to the drop ball, which is exactly what Konate pretending to be hurt and got back up instantly, it's good game management from them but the ref helped them out as well. Ball goes back to Forest as it should've and theyre less likely to be put under pressure.
@@jamielee5695 Because your point is utterly irrelevant given what transpired immediately AFTER the call before the goal. Forest regained possession twice in that time. If, as you suggest, the momentum had swung toward them surely in that time they'd of crafted at least another chance, or were they so flustered by the dropped ball call (which is the equivalent of a botched thow-in call) that they lost the plot and "gifted" Liverpool the goal? Yeah, no, your recollection of events is badly off and the fume is nonsense. End of.
There does need to be revenge, that’s the point. You bring VAR in and they still get it wrong. These people are on 100K a year, and these games are worth millions pounds. They need to sort themselves out
The whole strategy was to get alive (not losing by more than 1) to the end of the game, and then you can try to attack and see if you score. It´s basically the way you have to play when you are against a team that is so superior to you, nothing wrong with that. The thing is that City is used to teams playing that way against them, and they knew that they couldn´t let United touch the ball in the last minutes, which they did amazingly

A lot of misspelled 'Forrest' too. Forest were denied possession in the attacking zone in injury time. What happened after or speculation from Neville of what Liverpool 'might' have done even if Forest were correctly given the ball is moot. It doesn't absolve the ref of a crucial error that gave the advantage back to L'pool. Salah should be back, although he’ll be lacking match sharpness as will szoboslai. Endo should be fit to start again.
No Trent, Jones, jota, gravenberch, alisson until after international break.
@@oldschool8330 Salah and Szobozlai will probably get some minutes in the Europa League to gain some match sharpness. Then Liverpool could field a strong 11 vs City on Sunday
Kelleher
Bradley - Konate - Van Djik - Robbo
Szobozlai - Endo - Mac Allister
Salah - Nunez - Diaz
With Elliot, Tsimikas and Gomez as options from the bench.
So the only missing first team players would then be Allison and Trent. However, Kelleher and Bradley probably are Liverpools most inform players at the moment so not much drop in quality IMO

The most expensive team assembled ever in history and all they can do is stick 11 men behind the ball, play (and pray) for a draw, with 24% possession.
Why do you think blindly throwing money for 10yrs getting different styles of players mixed in with different styles of manager, would get you winning?

Ten Haag is so naive how could he think he could set the players to park the bus for 90mins, it’s soo delusional. Scrap the lot of them.
Was probably his best tactic to be honest. Because if Man U tried to play, then they would have got spanked on the counter time and time again to the point it would have ended worse than 3-1.
It almost worked. United could’ve been 2 up at HT, maybe 3.

Ole did the same and won twice. I don t disagree with the tactis. However, I was surprised he didn t played Eriksen instead of Amrabat being 2-1 down.
So what tactic do you think Ten Hag should've used against City?
City are susceptible to conceding goals in transition. Had Rashford scored that goal where he didn't head the ball in his path, it would have been a completely different game. Utd also had several chances on the counter which they didn't capitalise. Arsenal and Liverpool will be watching at this weakness with the City team.
I mean Foden and Jude gotta okay together in the middle. Plus both of em can play good defense and have a good work rate tbh
Rice, Saka, Gordan all have great work rate too. That should be the starting players, the players who will actually work for it and still have top quality. You need both at the top level. But he'll pick Rashford, Phillips, Henderson etc etc...
No foden can't play defense. At least not when it comes to teams like Liverpool.
@@jobsminehis defensive side isn’t as great tbf but i’d expect jude to do more defensively as he is an 8. fodens always been more of an attacker (10) like judes been predominantly this season

😂😂I’m just laughing before listening 😂
It was a massive error based on how much time was left in the game. Liverpool scored in the 99th minute when there was 8 minutes added on. If Forest had been given the ball back, pass around abit, might have got a set piece we don't know but what we do know is that the whistle would probably have blown sooner. It's not about the 2mins to the goal its the 1min to full time which is a big difference in context.

The same man two weeks ago "Manchester United qualified Champion league" 😅

@@roshi98 Regardless if Forest are given the ball back as they should the momentum stays with them.
The error was important in that Forest would have been in possession and that changes the whole pattern of play.
They were more defensively compact compared to against recent opponents because they literally had to be, it's City at the Etihad. And they still shipped 3
Let’s be factual, Man United didn’t trouble city at all. I really couldn’t tell what their game plan was. When you decide to sit deep, you must be sharp on the counter. Man U didn’t play at all.

A lot of misspelled 'Forrest' too. Forest were denied possession in the attacking zone in injury time. What happened after or speculation from Neville of what Liverpool 'might' have done even if Forest were correctly given the ball is moot.
