    I honestly can’t thank you enough for this video! Went to Jaguar servicing this week and they were telling me the car needed to be stripped down to find the fault and it would take 3-4 days to resolve. I wasn’t having any of that so instead I searched online, found your video, followed the steps and fixed it myself within an hour! Thank you so much, you’ve saved me an absolute fortune!

    Big shout out to Ghooglemale for this video - I had the same problem, went straight to that cable tie in the boot, and found two broken wires, the earth and a smaller wire. My coax was okay, thankfully. I joined the two wires again and left the loom hanging loose in the boot - I think that will be much safer in future than clamping it to the roof of the boot so tightly - which was clearly what caused the problem in the first place. terrific - thanks for the advice!!!!

    Cette vidéo m' a permis de trouver la panne et de réparer la caméra. Un fii était bien coupé (et les autres commençaient à l'être) à l'endroit précisé dans la vidéo. Je pense que ce problème récurrent est du à un défaut de conception, qui aurait dû faire l'objet d'un rappel par la marque JAGUAR ! Merci pour cette vidéo.

    • @GHOOGLEMALE
      @GHOOGLEMALE  11 месяцев назад

      Merci - Oui, je suis d'accord. Jaguar aurait dû procéder à un rappel, ou au moins publier un bulletin technique. Malheureusement, ils facturent des sommes énormes aux gens pour un nouveau faisceau de câblage. La réparation Jaguar pour cela coûte près de 1500 euros, je comprends - De la folie.

    Regular small choc block connectors are fine, the smallest are way beyond the capacity of the cables you will be connecting, they are pretty fine except the co-axial twin cable and that carries no current but is a thicker cable. I believe I used 5amp for the smaller cables and 10amp for the co-axial. ps - the amp ratings on terminal blocks are the amps based on 240 or even 400v, the rating of 5amp is not to be confused with 12v 5amp. In short, they are way over specc'd for your needs here...

    I was just quoted £750 by Jaguar main dealer in Guildford. AND the mechanic found the fault and was looking at it then gave me a quote.(£150 for the privilege to investigate) I am going to have words with them in the next few days. I feel disappointed in them for doing that. I will follow the vid tomorrow to hopefully resolve this annoying issue

    I have exactly the same problem. I fixed the wires as just crossed them and electric tape over them.
    problem still exist. I did however notice that there are two of the brown BIG Wires? possibly had a repaire before.
    I repaired the broken one and the other two but the blue wire was fine.
    whats my issue?

    • @GHOOGLEMALE
      @GHOOGLEMALE  2 года назад +2

      2 possibilities - Firstly, the brown thick one is the aerial lead which has an inner core and a an outer wire braid. If yours is in 2 pieces, connect the inner cables together and then twist the braid on both outers and join those together. The inners and outers need insulating from each other so the cannot touch.
      Also, on the right side of the boot on the carpeted wall is a small door with a twist buckle. Open that and behind is a fuse box. i think its number 41, but it should be a red 10 amp fuse. If you've had wires touching then it will probably be blown. It can be hard to see the blow so if you dont have a means of testing then just change the 10 amp fuses. The ignition needs to be cycled on and off once changed, it wont just come on if you change the fuse whilst ignition is on - so best to do with ignition off, change fuse then ignition on.
      Hopefully you are pretty much repaired with the broken wires you found.

      yes the two slice brown cable I did not seperate and insulated it together.

    L494 5.0 s/c
    How can I fix it
    Please could you help me?

    • @GHOOGLEMALE
      @GHOOGLEMALE  7 месяцев назад

      Hi - I'm afraid I don't know about any issues with the L494 - I do know the XF and XE have a very similar fault, but its very much an issue to do with cable routing and flexing on those specific cars. Any vehicle with a camera fitted to the boot or hatch could well suffer from the same complaint so worth a look where the cables route through to the hatch.

    I have the same problem, first i changed the the fuse, didn't help. After that I changed the camera and also the problem continued (Camera System Fault, please contact your dealer) After all this I saw this video and went to the boot. Same place, broken wires... Tried to fix it but the fault do not disappear... Any help ? How did you do the brown thick cable ? Did you dismantle the white one ?

    • @GHOOGLEMALE
      @GHOOGLEMALE  Год назад +1

      Hi - The thick cable is 2 wires in one effectively, the same as an aerial lead (you'll see it has a core wire and outside of that is a sheath type affair around it) - You need to join the middle to the middle and the outer to the outer if that makes sense. If I'm still not making it clear PM me and I'll sort it with you ok. You are nearly there I'm sure..

    • @GHOOGLEMALE
      @GHOOGLEMALE  10 месяцев назад

      Hi - If the cables were broken and you are certain you have joined them correctly as shown then I can only suggest you check that little red fuse in the boot on the right hand side. It is very unlikely to be anything else, especially as you have discovered broken cables. The fuse will in most cases be broken. It would be advisable to change the fuse again, but before you close the boot lid, check the camera again and see if that works. If it does, but after closing the boot it stops again then I would suspect you still have a short/damaged cable. Hope this helps ok
