I didn't go into COVID restrictions too much because life feels relatively normal because community spread is controlled at Williams and common-sense precautions are in place alongside a robust testing system, but I'd be happy to elaborate if you're curious. We're very privileged to be so well-poised to handle the pandemic given our funding, small size, remote location, and infection rates in the surrounding area.

Lovely to hear about Williams. I applied back in 1960 but was turned down. Williams has regretted that decision bitterly ever since! (joke) Went to a lovely conference there in 2006.

i’ve lived in williamstown my whole life and this was really interesting to watch, as i’ve always wondered what the students actually do all day. i’m starting to think about college and this was good to get a sense of williams from a student perspective.

I’m a sophomore and just started receiving emails from colleges. I since have been researching each, and Williams has caught my eye. Definitely will be on my list come touring time.

Yes! Williams waived the work-study requirement this year, so I don't know many people with jobs. However, there are positions available in practically every office at the college; internships and fellowships, Research Assistant jobs, community service work, working in the library and dining hall, and more. Right now, I see job postings to be a forest caretaker, sports writer, or videographer--there's a huge variety. You could also apply for a job in town working retail or food services. Students are limited to 10 hours of work per week. International students on-campus can apply for any job as long as they have authorization to work from the federal government

Aww the app process is brutal, take a break!! Colleges like Williams expect you to be human, and need to know that you can take care of yourself even in a rigorous environment.

Does Williams offer good financial aid paclage?
thank you so much for the video! how did u choose your tutorial? like did u want study it beforehand or chose something new to study, and did your partner or professor in the tutorial have an influence?
Hi! I knew I wanted to take a tutorial, so I just browsed the course catalog to see which 100-level tutorials sounded cool. Since it was my first semester, I really wasn't worried about doing it in a particular discipline; tutorials are really about developing your writing, analytical, and argumentative skills, so I just found a course that I could get excited about to try something new. I'm interested in history and though my course didn't count towards the history major, it was about the Cold War. Then, I checked the reviews for the professor on FacTrak, our internal professor-rating site, to make sure we'd be a good fit. Partners are assigned after you sign up for the course. I would like to apply for scholarship
Williams has only need-based financial aid (need-blind, 100% of demonstrated need met), not merit-based, but you can supplement that with scholarships from external organizations!
From your own point of view how would you say the diversity is there? I know some colleges can have little diversity? I saw reviews on niche saying you guys get a lot. They could be exaggerating as most people do. I'm just really curious because I am considering applying next year. Thank you so much for posting these videos I saw the one about food which was good to know.
Because Williams has so much money, they are able to meet 100% of demonstrated financial need, which allows the College to have a very diverse student body (in terms of all kinds of metrics-race, socioeconomic status, geography, interests, LGBT+ identity, etc.). There are offices across campus including the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Davis Center that work to support students with marginalized identities. For a lot of students, Williams is the most diverse community they will ever live and work in, and that's a wonderful thing! A caveat to this is that because it's such a small college, even if there's high diversity by the numbers, to students it can feel like there's only a small community of people who share their identities (and COVID definitely isn't helping).
