    Around 2010 I picked up 2xEMX-1, 2xESX-1 an MC-303 from a guy clearing out 'a load of old music junk' for £400..
    That was a good day.

    oh man... i keep watching like 3 minutes and learning something new. then fiddling around with it for an hour and coming back to the video to figure out what i have to do next. this thing is so nice for live interaction. I want to try syncing this with my TD-3, Volca Sample, or Pocket Operators. I'm picking this up faster than i thought but whoever i bought it from LOADED it with songs, and patterns, which is fine because im figuring out more of the live aspect right now but i guess im going to need an SD card because i'm not sure i can fit anything else on and I would hate to delete something that's golden that i could actually tweak myself.

    I just bought one for the second time, sold my first one to get the ESX many years ago. I could have sworn there was a way to record drum sequences unquantized? • @nstruiwigh
      @nstruiwigh  2 года назад +1

      Haha ahh yeah. Thats so cool. What do you like about them so much? And yes I do know... So basically you have to open up the whole maschine... Get the keys out, and reglue them with a special glue. I have one that needs to be fixed as well. I have the red one too. But I rather let someone fix it 😂 xx

    • @habin1662
      @habin1662 2 года назад

      @@nstruiwigh Thank you Nadia :) why I love them? wow, probably just like you, the possibilities and intuitively of it, makes for a very very special piece of equipment. I have the RmK2 too, lovely little soldier if you ask me, always ready always reliable, and you have total control over your creativity, since all "sample" can be tweaked to your liking, so technically making it Your own sounds. I find that quiet appealing. :) Thank you for the cleaning tip. What kind of special glue do I need, is there like a brand that you are familiar with? :)

      @@habin1662 Just DON'T use the electroconductive spray (Graphit33) that some people suggest. It works very fine at first, but through time it dries up and loses its grip + very tiny pieces start to fall off of it, which means it loses its contact again and you will have to put it on again and also these tiny pieces of electroconductive material can spread into the machine and cause problems. First just try to clean the contacts where pads are touching the buttons on the circuit. They can be dusty underneath and that can cause them to stop responding. It's easy to take EMX apart if you follow online video instructions :) good luck!

    • @Gainn
      @Gainn 2 года назад +2

      One of mine was a bit sketchy on the mute and some of the sequencer pads, and I just took it apart and used contact cleaner on them with a soft (lint free) cloth.
      Works like a charm.
      As said, the Graphit33 can cause more issues than it solves. Can be useful on scratchy faders or pots, but not on pads.

    Its funny, I have DAW and plugs, and know how to use it. But there's just something much more fun about a groovebox! In theory, you can get similar results in a DAW, but here's the thing- you don't!
    I had the complete setup with the first gen Electribe, the red ER-1 (Drumsynth), Green ES-1 (Sampler), and the blue EA-1 synth.
    I always wanted one of these beauties with the tubes, but I think money must've been tight at the time, so I skipped this generation.
    I've got latest gen red/pink (or whatever it is) Electribe 2 Sampler, its my favorite one that I've owned so far, even though it doesn't seem to get much love, I think it's super underrated.
    I'd definitely recommend anyone who has an earlier gen one to try out the newest gen (yeah, I know they came out 10 years ago), they run on batteries and are very easy to use. I think the sound quality is excellent too, not muffled sound like the ES-1 for example.
