I really think ppl are missing the messages in this episode. She walks into a room of belongings symbolizing how many people have died and it’s literally become a dumping ground. Melendez showing up is a symbol of her total exhaustion and grief that she hasn’t fully processed her loss. They depicted what our first responders are going through on every level and showed us a window of how reality is right now for them and ppl still not wearing mask. I loved that elevator scene where Lim says “put on your damn mask!”.
They exaggerated quite a bit. I work in one of the largest hospitals in los Angeles. We currently have 1 covid patient. And very few deaths over the past months. The room does a swell job of depecting covid deaths in a state.
I understand the messages, but it's okay for ppl to be upset the writer's killed off Melendez. We are still going through COVID and most of the people that don't understand eventually will. That being said, tv shows are stress relief from our everyday lives, which has been taken over by a Pandemic. Let them blow off steam about the loss of their favorite character. However, if that's not what you're talking about my apologies. Continue on with your message.

I agree it was unnecessary to let him go but I was reading that caught it wasn’t the directors decision, Melendez made that call from what I read up on it. It sucks that he’s not there anymore but who knows he may show up on more episodes we don’t know yet.

Legit cried when Melendez showed up towards the end. I loved him on the show. The song they used was perfect. But knowing that Claire was motivated and moved by him I feel like Melendez saying things will be okay gave her a boost.
This scene was perfect. Melendez saying " Things will be okay" 😭 And the last lines- "Where can I go when you don't hide? Who am if not seen through your eyes?" 😭😭😭 However, the show will never be same without Melendez 😢
the way I GASPED when I first heard his voice and immediately started SOBBING😭 it took me a week to get over his death, and I was in the chill, I didn't expect that
I love the Good doctor but believe the writers made a big mistake when Dr. Melendez's left the show. I don't believe Shaun and Lea will make it as a couple. You can't make someone love if they don't. Claire found love but yo have it taken away so soon is a tragedy for the show.

I don't like that there was no proper talk or reaction from all the residents over Melendez's passing, I know they're concentrating on covid and all but shouldn't they have addressed that?
@@candislove7101 They're not going to "avoid" anything. The first two episodes are about Covid, after that they'll move away from it and they've made it *ABUNDANTLY CLEAR* that Melendez will not be forgotten throughout the season. They will continue to bring him up.

This! Exactly! I had to explain to a fellow fan that I personally was hoping that they would bring Melendez back as an hallucination and for flashbacks of him (like before season 1) because it was the next best thing we were going to get after he died and that I'd rather see him on my screen than not see him at all. His death was very abrupt and as far as I'm concerned he still needs closure. I was VERY happy/shocked that they brought Nick back so quickly because i didn't think they would. The fact that he's in the first two episodes is so refreshing for me. I cried for 6 months with his death. I missed him. And Claire needs this. Just seen this incredible 1st episode of S04 on colors infinity tv (telecasting in india monday to friday 10PM) on jio TV application on my mobile. while writing this comment my eyes are full of tears. The way he said "THE THINGS WILL BE OKAY" is truly touching. I love Dr. Melendez's acting and the way he deliver the dialogues with awesomely real expression is absolutely heart touching. Every character of this show is awesome I can't express in words that how much i love this show It's beyond the words. After watching this episode i quickly came here to comment my thoughts. It's an hallucination. There are no "ghosts" on this show. It's not Grey's Anatomy. 🤦🏽♀️ Steve has always been an hallucination. Maddie was also an hallucination. Melendez is a figment of Claire's imagination through the stress/grieve she's going through now. It makes perfect sense for him to show up just like when Shaun needs Steve in his times of panic, stress, grief, (whatever the case) this is no different.
You know the hullicinations of people is just because they are only dead in the show but not in real life. It makes me wonder though if Claire has a brain tumor like Dr.Glassman did

Honestly can not believe they killed him. The drop in views they will get. If they get cancelled it would be a shame. Seasons 1-3 were so good! The acting and storylines were good up until Melendez’s unnecessary death.

Just because Melendez showed up for Claire as an hallucination doesn't mean Steve will discontinue showing up for Shaun. Steve has been coming on the show since season 1. He was literally in the season 3 finale. Idk what you're "missing" but he hasn't gone anywhere. These are two different situations but the show is still following the same pattern. For Shaun it's Steve, for Glassman it's Maddie, and now for Claire it's Melendez.

@@ranjithamoorthyart Steve is an important part of Shaun's life. I'm 100% sure they'll be showing him again before the show ends. THEN AGAIN, the actor *IS* growing into adulthood. Steve died as a young boy, so they may not show him consistently. Cuz there's only so much of a "de-aging" they can do with an actor until they have to recast them. (And he went through a huge growth spurt in season 3) But anyways, we didn't need Steve in season 2. We had Maddie for Glassman, and the actor actually has other things to do in his life besides make appearances on this show so he wasn't available for season 2. Now we have Melendez for Claire, and I, for one, couldn't be happier about that.

That scene of Claire walking into that room.....it’s truly a sad and powerful reality of 2020. We lost so much and we don’t know how to move forward

Honestly can not believe they killed him. The drop in views they will get. If they get cancelled it would be a shame. Seasons 1-3 were so good! The acting and storylines were good up until Melendez’s unnecessary death.

@@ThatGirlyOtters07 well, they say they wanted to lose a character viewers would feel pain about and we have to face mortality... every road led to his death which is necessary for claire's character development and this kind of bullshit, but I think the real reason is that melendaire was sealing the show, as you said

Just because Melendez showed up for Claire as an hallucination doesn't mean Steve will discontinue showing up for Shaun. Steve has been coming on the show since season 1. He was literally in the season 3 finale. Idk what you're "missing" but he hasn't gone anywhere. These are two different situations but the show is still following the same pattern. For Shaun it's Steve, for Glassman it's Maddie, and now for Claire it's Melendez.
@@blackdogbrown yeah I know that.. Hoping to see the Murphy brothers again.. because complete season 2 Steve was not there.. he appeared in season 3.. I just hope they bring him back in his visions or dreams in season 4.
@@ranjithamoorthyart Steve is an important part of Shaun's life. I'm 100% sure they'll be showing him again before the show ends. THEN AGAIN, the actor *IS* growing into adulthood. Steve died as a young boy, so they may not show him consistently. Cuz there's only so much of a "de-aging" they can do with an actor until they have to recast them. (And he went through a huge growth spurt in season 3) But anyways, we didn't need Steve in season 2. We had Maddie for Glassman, and the actor actually has other things to do in his life besides make appearances on this show so he wasn't available for season 2. Now we have Melendez for Claire, and I, for one, couldn't be happier about that.
