What a treasure these videos are!. How I wish they had been available when I was young, but I grew up, and lived half my life in an analog world. I will soon be 72 years old, and my new mantra has become, "Better Late Than Never"! Thank you, Sifu!
I'm delighted that you enjoy them! It's so true that "Better Late Than Never"! Thank you for generously sharing your experiences and wisdom with us in this Qigong community! 🙏😊
Mrs Chao you’re fantastic! Your movements show us the complete circles that each Tai Chi practitioner desires the most! Thank you very much for these incredible videos!
I am a newer student of Tai Chi and the many other forms Qi. I find these postures and music to be spiritually moving in nature and form. I have much to learn. You are a gem in my journey towards enlightenment ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words and generous $5 contribution! I'm thrilled to hear that you love the music and movements in the Eight Pieces Brocade video. It means a lot to me that it brings you peace and aids in your spiritual journey to enlightenment. Your feedback is truly inspiring and motivates me to keep creating content. Keep practicing and enjoying the process! Wishing you continued success and serenity on your path. 😊🙏
me siento muy agradecida con la vida por permitirme estar en esta maravillosa comunidad de Taichi y Shibashi como principiante.... saludos desde Costa Rica, Patricia Sánchez 😍
It is very calming to the spirit. I am actually teaching Shibashi to French-speaking Africans so I had to translate the steps in French. I would like to learn the 8 pieces Brocade so i can share it too. Thanks! Merci!
I feel as I found a diamond, really perfect. Long ago that I didnt practice, I follow the 18 form tai chi qiqong with her and I have my legs distroyed.
Hi @VivienChaoTaichiQigong , Thank you for sharing wisdom, One question please , Is it better to have our eyes open or closed for qigong practice? Should Keep our Eyes open or closed in Qigong ? Thanks in advance
When you enter a meditative state, it's natural for your gaze to gently lower. However, in a classroom setting, if you require visual guidance from your teacher or classmates, or need to stay aware of your surroundings, it's completely acceptable to keep your eyes open. Nevertheless, in the Eight Pieces of Brocade, specifically in the movement known as "Punching and Glaring" (攢拳怒目增氣力), it is essential to have your eyes wide open and filled with intensity.
Thank you again for sharing your Qigong practice. I've been doing Eight Pieces of Brocade many years, but I have not seen it this beautifully done before. I look forward to practicing with you. I'm just wondering about the number of repetitions, 6, 9? I'd love to see this where you do all repetitions so I could practice with you at the same pace. I love the choice of music with it; usually I don't like other music choices with this form. I appreciate you.
Thank you for your encouragement. I'm very happy you enjoy practicing with me! I wrote the music many years ago, and I'm thrilled you like it! There is no specific number of repetitions to follow. In the Taoist tradition, the numbers 3, 6, and 9 are frequently used. For shorter practice, 3 to 5 repetitions per movement are usually good. If you prefer more repetitions, 6 to 8 is effective. Sometimes, 9 to 12 repetitions are nice if you have more time. 😃🙏
Thank you for this demonstration! I have a question regarding the number of repetitions for each movement: Do we need more repetitions, or is the number you have demonstrated enough?
@VivienChaoTaichiQigong Thank you for your reply! 🙏 I have noticed that in your Shibashi video, the number of repetitions varies between 6 and 10. Is this number also recommended for this practice? Apologies if this is a well-known information, but I am a complete newbie in this area, and I practice by following videos and what has been shown there. Thank you!
I love your question. The counts are just general ideas. Although in the ancient culture the numbers of 3, 6, 9, 12… are often used in practice for their auspicious associations (same as 8, 10, 108…), the ultimate guide would be the wisdom of your own body. 😊🙏
Certainly! Here are some of the benefits: - Improved balance, flexibility, and range of motion - Enhanced circulation and oxygenation - Boosted immune system and reduced inflammation - Relaxation and alleviation of stress and anxiety symptoms - Increased mindfulness, focus, and energy levels - Support for proper alignment and posture, reducing pain and tension - Reduction of symptoms in chronic conditions like arthritis, diabetes, and hypertension - Overall physical and mental well-being promoted through gentle practice Happy practicing!👍😊
The filming occurred at the stunning Sedona, providing a breathtaking backdrop. Practicing Qigong synced with the sunrise made for a truly enchanting experience. It's great to know that you found the video enjoyable. We had a wonderful time making it and sharing our experience with others. Thank you for taking the time to watch and appreciate our efforts! 😊🙏

I have a question regarding the number of repetitions for each movement: Do we need more repetitions, or is the number you have demonstrated enough?
This is a short demonstration. You can maximize its effectiveness by slowing down the pace and incorporating more repetitions during practice. 👍🙏😊
