Song 2 was titled as it was the second song on the album. Ironically they released this album at a time when they were fed up with releasing 'Britpop' which was selling by the bucketload and they didn't care whether it sold or not. They wanted creative control, got it, released whatever they wanted. And it sold by the bucketload. This song was never intended to be released (hence the title) but people heard it and went nuts for it.
i think its an homage to the band wire who did a track called song 1.
@@gdkey8025 When that album was being made, this was the second song they showed the record label, hence "Song 2". Song "1" would be "Beetlebum". That's the first song on the CD. I'd recommend "Coffee and TV" from them. It's a long video, and very unique.
Song 1 could also be Song 2 in double tempo, which would make it 1 minute and 1 second long.
Blur - ‘there’s no other way’, it’s one of their first songs from the early 90s.

Finally arrived at my heroes of the 90´s I see. Keep diggin, so much good stuff to discover. Especially love their later work. "Beetlebum", "Tender", "No distance left to run" or "Coffee & TV". But who am I kidding? Their earlier stuff is also not bad, a bit cheesy at times. You could try "For tomorrow", "To the End" or "The Universal" And definitely go with the video on the latter. Ah and yes...Gorillaz ;)

This dude signing is the main vocalist for the band the Gorillaz also the creator. Unfortunately this is the only big hit by Blur. Though it is good. This was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid.
I've heard that the song got the title because it's 2 minutes long, so if there's a Song 1, it's only half as long as this one.
Definitely listen to 'Parklife' and 'Tender' by Blur. Also 'Girls and Boys', but I have a feeling you might have reacted to that one already.

@@bosshogg8447 I think you need to check facts the singer is called Damon Albarn and Kevin Bishop 2D did some voices but he was also a keyboard player for them. Damon Albarn did the voices for the earlier songs of the band from like 10 years ago

@@Leon1234021 creativity, like Radiohead/ rem/nirvana/the killers/the gorillaz/blink-182/bjork/Pulp/Franz ferdinand/Travis/lincoln park, even mc hammer was creative. Then you can add in Bill and Ted for the 80s, because they were "excellent" and appeared after 86, and were better than most of the crap pop that came out in the 80s.
@@daveaglasgow i´m not arguing against the 90s, and certainly not against any of the musicians you listed. however i am arguing against things like britney spears, boy bands, terrible electro music, and the pathway being opened for crappy pop-punk bands in the 00s. The 80s didnt have some crazy good pop music (although it did have mj, madonna, prince, george michael all in their prime coming out with absolute legendary music sooo....) and the rock (or most electric guitar music) scene was genuinely horrible (guns n roses, bon jovi, van halen, def leppard) until nirvana came to save it. i am just saying that in the late 80s music got really dark, drab, commercialized and pop became unlistenable. this is why i find it hard to enjoy the 90s and what it opened the path for. i do not care about the pop scene in the 80s actually. i am into 77-84 music (mainly punk and post-punk. not new-wave or synthpop though) so like joy division, blondie, new order, depeche mode (who improved in the 90s actually by maturing), early duran duran, the early cure and a couple others.
Back then you could choose between Pop, Rock, Rap, hip-hop, Grunge, Indie, Nu metal, etc nowadays everything sounds the same, rock and music with guitar and real instruments are pretty much dead.
