Absolutely a great video. I’m a 63 year old gentleman living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Recently retired and a lot of long winter time days to kill. Mainly fishing for Trout and Smallmouth. Sorry, I’m sure you are not interested in my life’s history 😂.
I’m just getting ready to start the new adventure in fly tying. I’d love to see any and all videos that you care to share for beginners. I’m in pretty good shape as far as my vice and tools needed. It’s the materials that I really need help with, being new at this.
This is the area of your video that has put you at the top of the list for the ones I have watched so far. Your explanations of brands, sizing, options are second to none. Thank you.
Your tying skills show instantly. But the way you explain the steps make it so very clear and easy to understand. Very helpful for someone of my age. Greatly appreciated.
Your personal demeanor shows quickly as well. You truly come across as caring and totally willing to help a beginning Tyler.
So many others leaving you guessing as how much material to use? But you explain and show the exact amount, from what area to take it and specifically show how to apply the material for each step.
So many others left me thinking what about the amount of waste. I don’t mind purchasing my material needed. But don’t want to unnecessarily waste it as well.
The Wooly Bugger you just tied was absolutely beautiful. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to studying them all.
Any and all information you care to share for a beginner is always welcomed. If you can help with flies for Smallmouth and Trout, I’d be more than grateful to receive this information.
Again thank you for the great video and willingness to help a beginner. Your instructional presentation matches your tying skills. Would you be able to offer a list of basic materials that would be beneficial for me please? Thank you.
    God bless,
    Jeff Stone

Great video man, thanks! It's way more useful and interesting when videos like this explain not only what materials to use, but WHY material X is preferable to material Y, etc. 👍

Great video! I don't believe this fly gets the respect it deserves. I like tying mine with schlappen feathers. It tends to be oversized a bit but I really like the movement it gives
