I like it getting darker early but since I work outside plus like to have time with my kids outside, having more daylight is better. Either way we need to pick a time and stick to it!
Hi Mike, I remember when they first started using daylight savings time. One of the news channels was conducting a survey around the state of Texas, where I live. They were interviewing some farmers in west Texas, and and one of them said that it might be fine for the city folks, but that extra hour of sunlight was going to burn up all the crops!
Mike - you are one of the best presenters out there. I love your enthusiasm as well as your little detours with personal facts. Thank you for being you!
DST? I don't care except I wish we would select one and stick with it. A for elements of tie, some archeologists think ancient middle easterners thought the earth rotated around the moon. This may explain how Abraham, Noah and other lived for hundreds of years. I don't know. I'm old, but not that old.
I love DST. I hate when we go back to standard time. I just want to crawl into a hole and not come out until DST starts again. One thing you didn’t talk about is time blindness. The first time I heard of this, I thought it was just a cop out for being late. And I have trouble being late. But after researching it, I found that it’s a very real thing. I have no concept of time. Without a clock, I couldn’t tell you if approximately 10 minutes have gone by or two hours. When I’m getting ready to go somewhere, I’ve learned to keep a clock, or my cell phone, at hand so I can check the time continuously as I’m getting ready. I add on additional minutes so I can get ready on time. It’s frustrating, but you need to learn how to live with it without it affecting others.
I wish the government would just leave time alone. All the excuses are void now except for not wanting kids to stand out in the dark waiting for the bus, but parents should keep kids in their car. If they can. However I agree with others pick a time and stick with it
I never feel bad effects from daylight saving time. I guess it's all in how I look at it. For me, it's no big deal, so the time changed, meh, and I just go about my business as usual. This entire video kept me thinking about the Marvel series, Loki. That series is a trip, and the time storyline is so much fun.
#8 makes sense as to why when I watch a movie I've never seen before, it seems longer than watching a movie I've already seen before. And each time I watch that movie, it seems shorter and shorter.
Yap, not knowing something slows it, cuz of the interest n detailed focus, Knowing what to expect makes it feel it's passing quicker, because intuitively you're focused on "what's gonna happen after the moment you are currently watching" like, always a "step ahead" - just the sense of expectation from the unknown is different, other example is when you feel safe time passes quicker, it's subconscious, the whole perception changes when you know what the expect
#17: I agree and understand the point, but I would add to it the absence of life benchmarks. Youth has exciting benchmarks that let's us remember more, e.g. school grade, first kiss, drivers license, first legal drink. These benchmark opportunities diminish as we grow, and so the linear timeline has fewer memory moments.
In relation to the item about the fly, there's an interesting video on RUclips about how cats and dogs see and hear humans. It explains how they process information at a higher speed than humans, so we look and sound like we're in slow motion. It explains how predators are so good at intercepting fast moving prey.
2:50 this type of time travel you were speaking of I imagine is achieved by “holding space” after making telepathic communication or another form of connection with whatever/whoever you want to bring into your time space reality but I don’t really know because I tried it with different versions of myself and fairies so far😅
Fantastic & fascinating video as always Mike. I always have 'time' for your video's & my perspective is that they are always amazing & interesting & I learn a lot.
I recommend you move to Arizona. 99.9% of the state does not observe daylight savings time. Only thing is, if you move to Phoenix, you'd have to put up with the horrible summer heat. However, there is the northern half of the state where the weather is nice in the summer for the most part.
Look at how we perceive Week Time compared to Weekend Time. If we don't achieve what we need to do by 2pm during the week, we feel as if we're Running late. But on the weekend, the majority of the time 2pm comes and we don't feel as if we're running late.
DST is pointless in our modern era. People operate on so many different schedules and shifts it doesn't matter if the sun sets an hour earlier or later. One shift has you going to work in the dark and getting off work, in the dark, no matter what. Some shifts you go in daylight and go home in daylight. Some parts of the world, you get 24 hour darkness or 24 hour light so why do they need DST? Studies show countries lose a lot of productivity around those time shifts.
maybe a bit picky but you said time moves slower at the core but..i think time moves slower under higher gravity/acceleration and as one moves from the surface to the core gravity decreases until it becomes zero at the center (pressure would be immense but gravity about zero
I don't care if we stay Sprung Foward or Fallen Back. I just feel it's time to End it. It does not help in any such way since we're living in a 24/7 World.
I saw the movie and the fly caught with chopsticks. I practiced and caught flies and mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are easier to catch because they always circle back to you where flies are totally random unless you're trying to eat a plate of fish and chips. 😅
Not proud of this fact but I've been to jail before and while there, time seemed to drag by so unbearably slowly. Each week felt like a month. It was an extra layer of mental torment while I was there.
Time is a funny thing, people can live through a century, a millennium, several decades, 4 eras and they are not even 50 yet...it;s something I saw the other day, and I am not sure if it is right. I am 35 and I feel old by the day
A younger person perceives time slower than an older person because a younger person has less experience of it. For a five year old, if you tell them they would be in High School 8 years from now, is more than they have lived so it seems long. For a 40 year old, 8 years is only 20% of their life so it seems a lot less.
Time does not exist. It is a measurement between what was and what will be. Yesterday, no longer exists, and tomorrow doesn't exist yet.Only now exists.
I have a theory that time passes more quickly as you age. For example when you are 5 years old a year is one fifth of your life. At age 70 it is only one seventieth. Much shorter so seems time flies faster. Lol
Consider this theory. The universe has already reached its expansion end (or end of time). We just don’t know it yet. How you ask, well when the Big Bang occurred, there was an expansion that occurred faster than speed of light. That expansion has continued which is why we can only see the so called “observable universe”. If this theory is true, then we can go forward in time, because the future has already occurred, and we just haven’t caught up to it yet. However, if this theory is not true, then we can never go into the future. Another reason why I think this theory is true, is the fact that if you travel at 99% speed of light, you will reach that future faster than those on earth. If the future doesn’t already exist, then you would never be able to travel at those speeds. Which brings up an other paradox, can we ever travel at those speeds if the future hasn’t occurred yet? Think about that for the next 100 years!!!
I don’t see us coming into the timeline at the end. U’d have to assume that the end of earth is near. It’ll be at least 5 billion years into the future for the sun to destroy the earth. So we made it where we’re supposed to be on earth’s timeline. There’s plenty of time left for other unknown things to evolve
As far as daylight savings time is concerned, I have no problem with it. And if you’re interested in a little bit of history and trivia, it was created during World War I the enemy, we could get up earlier and get in, attacked the enemy earlier and they wouldn’t be expecting it. There are some places in the United States does not recognize daylight savings times like the state of Indiana farmers save the cows. Can’t tell time.
🎵🎶 Tiiiime is on our side.
Yes it is 🎶🎵.
Time definitely seems to speed up with age.
100% correct my friend!
Absolutely agree.
The days are long, but the years are short
I like it getting darker early but since I work outside plus like to have time with my kids outside, having more daylight is better. Either way we need to pick a time and stick to it!
I think it's fascinating that we are living in the future and the past simultaneously. Hugs, Mike.
Great video! Your intro reminds a lot to the time-countdown we use in our inventions ones! But yours has a better graphics LOL
Love the Doctor Who stuff.

13:51 I have this, seasonal jet lag, it takes ages to shift out of this weird feeling. I just thought it was me, but glad to see something about this

Hey Mike, great stuff again. Watching your 25's is time well spent. Later Peace

Great video thanks List 25 and Mike 👍👍👍👍👍❤️

Instantly liked this video just because of the Doctor.

Especially if I watched a movie enough I have it memorized, it seems over as it started 😂
Love Inside Out ❤
Loved Matt smiths Dr who after David Tennant I really didn't think anyone could do Dr who better 😊 hi from the uk

Interesting video as always, Mike! 😁

Thanks so much ❤❤

Love the shirt!
The Doctor rules!
Fantastic & fascinating video as always Mike. I always have 'time' for your video's & my perspective is that they are always amazing & interesting & I learn a lot.
Great video
I hate daylight savings time. I have circadian rhythm disorder and DST doesn't help at all.
Completely agree! Just leave it one time.
I recommend you move to Arizona. 99.9% of the state does not observe daylight savings time. Only thing is, if you move to Phoenix, you'd have to put up with the horrible summer heat. However, there is the northern half of the state where the weather is nice in the summer for the most part.
Or Hawaii. 😊
Omg same here!
Ur have
I got the same shirt, LOVE it!
Great time jokes at the end, Mike! 😁
"Great Scott!!" XD

2:59 string theory guarantees it. String theory is fascinating!
i can relate to the nicotene topic, i was a nicotene dependent , glad to have kicke the habit
Time is interesting.
Love Back To The Future ❤
Look at how our heart eventually keeps up with the music.

Mike @list25 I love the shirt! Who is your Favorite Doctor?

A single second does make a difference.
I love light nights, hate dark nights
I don't care if we stay Sprung Foward or Fallen Back. I just feel it's time to End it. It does not help in any such way since we're living in a 24/7 World.
Anticipation makes us wait ? Isn't that the Carly Simon effect?
H😂😂

Time in an illusion, Daylight Savings Time doubly so.
I majorly dislike DST!!! It’s unnecessary. I also hate when it gets dark early.
Let people save their own daylight, by golly. Be self reliant instead of depending on the government. :)
Sweet, you wrote a book as a channel, but make sure to update it yearly. Things change and facts change
Seems like you made it through the storm okay, Mike... 😊
The fact I really want to know, who is your favourite doctor?
Matt Smith is mine, plus he's from my hometown 😁
Time is just a measurement of duration.
And
We are all time travelers.
We DO NOT gain or lose an hour with Summer Time. What we are doing is all agreeing to get up an hour earlier in the summer.
Not proud of this fact but I've been to jail before and while there, time seemed to drag by so unbearably slowly. Each week felt like a month. It was an extra layer of mental torment while I was there.
Yes, I saw what you did there...and there...and there...and there...and...and...and...an...an...a...a............
I’m a mail carrier, I prefer light in the afternoon. I hate falling back.
hate the time shift
i want the book, just not a physical one. e-book please
I guess the fact that students are learning something new is why school can feel much longer than it is? lol
When I play Call of Duty… time flys 😂
Time is a funny thing, people can live through a century, a millennium, several decades, 4 eras and they are not even 50 yet...it;s something I saw the other day, and I am not sure if it is right. I am 35 and I feel old by the day
You can't move through time you are always in the present never in the past never in the future
👍
Arizona don't care about DST , we refuse to change ! Sorry about your luck.

Time is an illusion. Lunch time doubly so.
DST needs to be done away with. I'm screwed up for weeks every time it changes
Let's start with time doesn't exist and work it out from there.
Time machines could theoretically work if you wanted to travel to the future, but going back in time is generally considered impossible.
iirc Tyson said i would require all the energy of a large star just to move a few seconds in time. But in theory, it could work.
Consider this theory. The universe has already reached its expansion end (or end of time). We just don’t know it yet. How you ask, well when the Big Bang occurred, there was an expansion that occurred faster than speed of light. News Flash.......most of us DON'T spend all our time at THEME PARKS !

You’re time travelling everytime you cross a different time zone 🤷🏻♀️
No experiment has been done or can be done to prove the existence of time!
Wel yes there it is but I do know what you mean 🖖
Time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana. 😂
My work schedule DST does nothing for me I can see sunrise sunset sunrise lol it’s all a blur
What happend to your friend who did this chanel with you mate back in the day
Time doesn't actually exist outside the human imagination.
Tiiiiiiiime used to be on my side...now it's not!
daylight saving time is waste of time n they need to get rid of it. i hate it
Time waits for no man.
I dont go to Disney, so F daylight savings.
Time is a man-made invention
Am I the only one that thinks there should not be an s on “warps” on the thumbnail?
'Time' doesn't exist - at least not in the sense of a movie. We're more like being in a play...
#keepanimalkingdomopenlonger
Mike lives in central Florida…I live in central Florida. He’s got doggies, I’ve got doggies…
*wink wink?* 😅
Not Deja Vu , you did this topic 10 months ago
Who came up with time
A bottomless pit would be the center of the earth falling to center then stuck there the bible explains it
D.S.T. SUCKS!
Too long bro lol
Hate, hate, hateDST! Serves no useful purpose in my life.
We are unknown to time.... I think.
