- She is one of my favorite competitor, last year at world barista chamipnship 2018 she didn't get into final because an accident, her espresso shot for milk beverages was forget to tamp, she still continue the competition profesionally, but i think she still lost the point for attention to detail, so i think she did'nt trough the final because of that.
This year she was amazing, done very well. She set the stages very unusual, the judges sit on the table to make them more comfort as a customer.
She talk about sugar. Define the sweetnes and body for coffee by four type of sugar, monosaccharide, disaccharide, oligosaccharide, and polysaccharide. Her idea to enhance the sweetness with focus on this point. She using Sidra varietal coffee from La Palma Y El Tucan. Her idea, routine, and amazing team, made her a champion this year, congrats joo yeon.

Haha, I don't think I've ever watched a barista championship video that had good video AND good sound :( Someone must keep spilling coffee over the equipment or something...

How are they judged? How do you win? I’m interested in this but just so confused.
they have two sets of judges, sensory (judges but not limited to overall drinks, creativity, tactile notes and flavour descriptors) and technical (judges and not limited to workflow, their efficiency, waste) and a head judge which does both sensory and technical.

I can tell you she is very to the point and has an amazing presentation style. Her topics are interesting so if you can't keep up with the pace its your loss.
@@Kabz8 Most of the time, the competitors are reciting a script. In the competitions, the competitors are encouraged to get as technical oriented as they want.
