Hi Chris. So it seems you really like the Curve-H XL. I have the Fluid XL-H (1500cm², 112cm) and the Ypra-S L (1000cm², 90cm). At some point I may get an in-between size and was thinking about the Curve-H XL or the Ypra-S XL. The Curve-H will surely have a much lower stall speed but will be slower in general. Here in the Mediterranean we have quite chaotic (onshore style) wave conditions, not clean sets like you have up in the UK. I am wondering if the slower speed of the Curve-H would be an issue. But maybe that's outweighed by the low stall speed. The Ypra-S would surely be more fun for jumping.
Most the time we have messy wind swell and chop, the curve is fine and excells in it, I love it so much as it allows me to just go from bump to bump as it has such a low stall speed, I use the freestyle stab with it for me this makes it a bit faster . I am also looking at a yarpra s in xl they look fast , I'm hopefully after dw foil/super light wind foil like a a xxl fluid h or curve h xxxl but can't decide and need to save the money . Thanks for watching. Love your channel
Hey Chris. I have a foil question for you. I just ordered a downwind board that I was going to use mostly for light wind winging but I usued to SUP surf and want to try and get into down winders. My main front wing is the Gong Curve XL (1900) my light wind front wing is the Fluid XLT (1950) I purchased last year the Fluid H XLH (1500) do you think this will work for me to start down winding? I weigh about 90 kilo's btw. I wasa thinking about going bigger (3 XLH) but that is 152 cm wingspan and 2200 sq cm. Thanks
Hi Stephen. This I why I bought the carbon mast to use a xxxl curve h for downwind it's worth tying with the fluid xlt tho .I'm not yet doing downwinding so only have an idea and not done real world tests. But I feel you need the higher aspect wings and at my wieght 95kg a big one yo give me half a chance getting going.i have super for a long time and the narrow boards are hard to master with a paddle that's for sure Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️
Hi. I use the regular carbon mast with the YPRAs and updated Veloce wings and it work fine as FYI. Both with the current Veloce H47 stabilizer. I think you missed an opportunity to tell about the Fone foil you used? Regards.
Hi, I hope you are well. Thanks for watching. I'm going to do a mega test day soon with grant so will be trying a smaller curve h in large vs the fone Eagle it is very fast and smooth I think there very nice foils. I'm looking forward to trying the 2024 seven seas that will be nice at aspect 8. How are the yarpras? What one do you use ? I'm looking at the xl yarpra surf so I don't have to change the titanium fuse . To use for high winds 23kn +in 3 to ft swell . I'm keeping my curve h xl for lighter winds. What do you think 🤔 Thanks, top ripper
Hi. Looking forward to your F-one reviews. I actually use 4 brands for foiling. With Gong I use the Veloce XxL for light winds, but it’s fine in stronger winds too, had the XL but sold it to a local mate. Ypra-s is XL. It’s faster and accelerates better. Both do everything really well, intuitive and user friendly. I can make make both work in lights winds but Ypra-s needs much more energetic pumping when super light. The Veloce is just so relaxing to use. The ypra-s though by comparison produces massive more lift at speed. I have mast 3cm further back compared to the larger Veloce which you would think is counter intuitive. Highly recommend both wings for swell riding too. Cheers.
sweet! I was a little worried you were gonna be stoked on the mint and anti-lemon so I'm glad you discussed that in the end. how was that dw board? and eagle? any comparison to your Gong stuff?
The downwind board was super easy to get up on and great if wind drops to get back to shore I'm not a huge fan of how they turn while on foil but it maybe just that I've not put enough hours on a dw board . The Eagle 990 cm2 was super easy to get on foil with this board, and I feel I really should get myself a far smaller foil than my current set up, just for some speed lol , currenly on curve h 1300cm2 low winds and curve 1200cm2 high wind bigger swell .The Eagle is much faster than the gong curve h but has nowhere near the low end or glide for my weight. However, it turns nice and is smooth. The low-end and take-off are so good on the gong curve h and keep me going back to it . It would be nice to try a smaller curve h 1000cm2 to see how that would compare or the yarpra 900cm2 . Loads of new foils and options im a little lost and skint and not sure what to save for as the next best investment 🤔 Haha, I will test more foils boards ,wings and see . Mind I need a new 5.5 or 6m mines 4 yo and heavy on back hand duotone 2020 . Thanks for watching 👀 appreciated. Have an awesome week 😎
yo chris very interesting , i tried the curve 2 recently gonna make a review. Im pretty sure the hm mast will 100% better than the heavy thick aluminium mast ! what size did you choose ? i heard the best were the taller mast 92cm and 100cm something. old gong shape are sticking to water because of their too much round shape, way to go now is bevel because you have a easy large width and when you get a little bit a speed you have a reduced width at the bottom , i reviewed a fone rocket s 80liter i need to upload .
Yes, i agree .There is a lot of talk about round rails vs. straight rails. I'm holding off on a board for at least a year to save the money , and I feel desig will change so much in that . I went for the 86cm mast as a all round wing mast. It will also allow me to use the massive front wings I'm looking at a xxxl curve h o . I will cut my old alu mast to 75cm for sup foil . I have the curve v2 in large but have not used it enough as I'm addicted to the curve h glide In our small waves so I'm going to try to use it a lot over the next month to decide what foils to aim towards Thanks for watching and supporting me appreciated 🙏
Awesome video again. I love the vibe you guys have over there! Keep going!
Thanks so much Arnt my friend. We are all fully foil brained over here good winds my man

Sounds good. Looking forward to hearing all about it in future. Best.
