Yes, it is a matter of opinion, but it comes down to me feeling like the statement is meaningless because you literally disregarded every Pokémon from Gen 6 onward, and many people push that to be from gen 5 onward. But the fact of the matter is that Pokémon has really cool designs basically every generation.
I'm more of a Pokemon fan and I'd have to say my favorite depends on the antagonist, since every hero needs a great villain. Team Rocket is just the mafia, driven purely by money and power. What they lack in originality, they more than make up for in cruelty, going so far as to create the most powerful Pokemon ever by splicing human and Pokemon DNA (the games are milk by comparison with the manga) Team Aqua and Magma are just eco-terrorists. Team Galactic wants to make a new universe in their image, which means destroying the current one (go big or go home, right?) Team Plasma is just an animal rights activist group, but they get bonus points for being the only group that tries to kill the player. Team Flare is the most bland, generic organization to date. They're basically a caricature of a bond villain. Team Skull is probably the most relatable group since they're literally just a gang full of people that fell in with the wrong crowd. Here’s the thing about the game she started with to get into Digimon. Digimon World Dawn and Dusk are sequel games to Digimon World DS (with 2 more sequels that never released outside of Japan). The sequels assume you’ve played the previous game and don’t ease you into it like the first one does. Granted that doesn’t help the problems she herself had, but the reason it was acclaimed as an okay game is because the games were played by prior fans mostly. Also the games were mostly meant to be played in segments, like when kids would come back from school. So not a good streaming game. And I guess Japanese kids are apparently built different when it comes to patience. She’s definitely taking the right step going for Cyber Sleuth next, as that game is more accessible and fun. Especially if you like gameplay from Pokémon and/or Persona/SMT. That being said, the games are more like supplements to the anime and trading card game which a a big majority of the fandom agrees blows the Pokémon counterparts out of the water. And you two seem to be a bit familiar with the franchise, what with your experience with “Rumble Arena”. Which I am very familiar with alongside its sequel. Digimon is worth getting into if not for the monsters, then maybe for the narratives across the mediums.
I started with Dusk and didn't run into the problems she had. I say "started" but I'd played some of the console games, and Dusk was the first Digimon game I enjoyed

My main was renamon cause of how cheap you can get with renamon you really dont need to go mega cause i found that renamons diamond storm hit a lot harder the bigger the opponent cause the more diamond storm hits the more it does damage so facing someone like a omninom would eat a lot of the diamond storm and do more damage and kohenkyo the ability to switch places with the opponent is very cheeky cause you can trigger a trap and get squashed by a boulder but you have enough time to switch places with the opponent and they get hit instead its like one of the things that made renamon broken to a point they had to remove renamon in rumble arena 2
Pokemon designs grow on me even if I don't like them initially. My favorite pokemon of all time, greninja, came from gen 6 even when people didn't really enjoy the gen, the anime was straight up fire tho. People always say that pokemon designs are not as good as they used to but to me they all look like pokemon, meaning they look like they are all from one series. People complain if the new designs are bland or over designed and they always have this complain every new gen.
"Iknow absolutely nothing about Digimon. Pokemon is my entire life so why would I need to branch out?" Is exactly how i feel about Digimon 😂 i have friends who loves digimon but i could never get into it. Probably because I couldn't watch it as a kid because I didn't know it existed for the longest time and so my child mindd has been soaking up Pokemon

I would def reccomend Pokken! It's very underrated, but has a small but great and dedicated community as far as I know at least. I'm just a pokemon enjoyer that likes pokken though so I don't have like a definitive take on the scene or anything. Pokken DX is apparently on the switch, I just have the Wii U version and they did a really good job with the battle system IMO. For pokemon, IMO Gen 7 had the best designs, taking very heavy inspiration from the hawaiian theme and doing it well. But yeah, most pokemon designs aren't amazing, even from gen 1 when they had a ball of slime and just a ball. There are a few gems from the ever increasing pile I really like though, like Xatu, Golurk, Aegislash, Galvantula, and Archeops. IMO pokemon have a lot more intrigue individually from a lore perspective. Like you kinda have to know what mushroom is described in Parasect's dex entry to recognise the genius of it's evolution line as the zombified crab is slowly but surely entirely taken over by the mushroom's influence. But for digimon, I have fond memories of watching the original anime as a kid, though I never could understand how digivolution or whatever it's called worked it was really good!
Digimon Rumble Arena was the game I grew up with, too!! It was dope!!! I wish they brought it to the Switch so could waste hours on the same repetitive, story-less battle system with my favorite mons like I did as a kid. ☺️☺️😊😊
Honestly, I like the Digimon lore and characters more than Pokémon, but the games leave a lot to be desired. Cybersleuth and Hacker's Memory are pretty good, and Digimon Survive is fantastic.
8:10 how is she supposed to know, when she knows nothing about digimon and it is not elaborated on, you never know, like yo kai watch is also on the same premise of pokemon rarely do they evolve, thats just what its like going into a game blind, cant guess em all 🤷♂️
I’m probably 50-50 Pokémon and divining love. Pokémon is so much easier to gush over because the games are great. Digimon has probably some of the best stories I have ever heard, compared to Pokémon, and the monsters are amazing. But yes i have to agree that digimon has been screwed over because of the games Edit: world 3 has to give up because I couldn’t find a card and I had the inability to access the internet to help me. Cyber sleuth and the second one I did finish, the story, after the story is a bunch of side quests that needed you to get the best digimon to have a chance of fighting them which then ran into a very steep wall of grinding levels, digivolutions and devolutions to get to the right mega form
Digimon anime slaps, Pokemon could never but the games are uh, all over the place XD They aren't very beginner friendly if you don't know specifically which game to play, and seem to rely heavily on having anime knowledge. Pokemon games are repetitive, the stories are trash, but you can pick up any game and know how to play/what the story is and I love them for exactly that. They are mindless pet brawling games that kill time. My favorite is probably USUM specifically because Mimikyu is my favorite critter ever. Don't have a favorite Digimon game but after Jaidens video I want to try Cybersleuth!
Cyber Sleuth is a good beginners game. If you want to go for a retro game that is also friendly to beginners, you could try Digimon Adventure for the PSP, then you could follow it with Digimon Anode/Cathode Tamer V-dramon Version for the WonderSwan Color (there are 3 more games following Ryo's Saga but those might get too confusing to play). If you want something not related to the Anime, you could try Digimon Re:Digitize Decode for the 3DS that is somewhat easier than other Digimon Worlds out there.
I love Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, Yo-Kai Watch... They're all great in their own way, in my opinion. Each has their pros and cons, including the Pokemon series even from Gen1. (I also love the Key, Ice Cream, and Garbage Pokemon, fyi) I did play Pokemon Dusk, which is the Red/Blue version of Dawn. I enjoyed it a lot and loved the grinding aspect to get my favorite digimon evolutions. It felt VERY rewarding. But~ I can understand not everyone would like that, nor a first time player who doesn't know what they're aiming for. XD That being said, the most "Pokemon" Digimon game out there, is actually Digimon World 3. But, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (Hacker's Memory) are the more mainstream games out there that are both really fun and easy to start with as a newcomer.
digimon are digital monsters so their evolution lines are wild as explained by karina from Drawfee (ruclips.net/video/RzeZLASMzjY/видео.html) they are collections of data.

I think the reason why Digi evolutions is so complicated Think of it as data mashing, that is why their "fully" evolved form sometimes doesn't make sense
This was a good reaction also I have played both Digimon World and Digimon World 3 but have never completed them and I have Played Digimon Rumble arena which I liked the most as it was easier to play.
19:03 ok no, just no. Every Generation has bland and ugly designs. Magnemite, Voltorb, Muk, Exeggcute and Seel are as bland as they come and Jynx, Lickitung, Mr. Mime and Omastar sure aren’t beautys. If you want I can keep listing Mons like these from all games but I hope you get the point. As for Scarlet and Violet, I‘ve seen all the Mons in the leaks. I know them all and yes there are ugly critters in there but also ones that are really cool and I‘ll use for sure. There isn’t one Gen or Game where all Pokemon look good, never was and never will be.
Digimon games having these problems isnt the series' fault, its the rights holders. Bandai didnt make the original world series in house until the Namco aquisition, a majority of older digimon games were made by different studios altogether and the newer ones are all made by the historically inconsistent Namco.
I've seen someone mention before that Pokémon is better at making games and Digimon is better at making anime, and I tend to agree with that. I was a big fan of the digimon anime when I was little and I've just heard through hear-say, even before this video, that there were no good Digimon games, so I think Jaiden just went after the wrong type of media for this franchise
I mean to be fair cyber sleuth is the best digimon had came up since it went underground goes to show that they vanish and work thier way back up then they made Redigitize better with decode too they made next order which is good but cyber sleuth takes the cake for thier current games. Survive cant really say much about it except they made it into a horror game.
The thing is that Pokemon is a game franchise that branched-out into other media. However Digimon is essentially a Tamagotchi franchise that branched-out into Anime and Games, so it does tend to have games with varying formulas or radically different genres like other non-game focused franchises tend to do. Though, ever since 2006 Digimon has tried to keep a consistency between the different releases of their games. For example the 'Worlds' are RPG games with monster raising/Tamagotchi elements in it, the 'Stories' are RPG with Dungeon Crawler elements in it (btw even tho the game Jaiden was playing is called Digimon World in the west, it's actually a Digimon Story game in Japan).
I played it. I couldn’t 100% it though. The grind got too real. My advice to anyone who wants to play it: make sure you dedigivolve and redigivolve your Digimon. It may be annoying but the alternative is playing on super hell difficulty. Trust me, I played like that on my first run and it was like beating my head against a wall repeatedly.
Its probably my nintendo Mind set but that sounds more like a side game of the digimon like mystery dungeon for pokemon and like the 20 kinds of side games for mario
Hard question, most digimon games are bad, but at least they try to do a good game whit the resorces they have way more than pokémon does, specialy recently
Never cared for Digimon, as a kid. My cousin LOVED it, but I preferred Pokemon. By the way, Sonic Mania remains the GOAT, in terms of Sonic games; and that's not even a Sonic Team-creation.
Tbh I prefer digimon cuz the plot actually MOVES and it’s more mature just watch digimon ghost Gulusgammamon is a serial killer And digimon survive game is good horror
Just gotta put it out there dusk is my fav. Game its the sister game to dawn however imma say this jaiden picked the wrong game to try and get into digimon like out of all the games she picked a game where tutorials were mostly on another game the prequel to dawn and dusk being digimon world ds its why jaiden has so many issues with the game..... Also she avoided digimon world 2 for being grindy yet she picked a game thats grind heavy. She could have tried the digimon adventure on psp if she was emulating .......... Or Cyber Sleuth thou Cyber Sleuth still a bit grindy.
Most digimon games do better than most Pokémon games then there’s some that do better than most digimon games depending on the direction, Digimon world 4 beats Pokémon mystery dungeon for best dungeon game due to story and so on, you get what I mean
Digimon world 1 and 2 for the games that she should have just gone for. You can actually see and avoid Digimon in those games if you want to instead of it just being random run ins
I loved digimon before I watched pokemon so I will always love it along with pokemon. Also y'all are crazy if you think pokemon designs have been going downhill since clefkey, like there hasn't been some bad designs since gen 1.
It's more of style preference in the designs. We've talked about it before, we just enjoy more of the sharper lines more realistic approach that OG pokemon had versus the newer stuff!
Which do you prefer? Pokemon or Digimon? What's your favorite game of the franchise? Let us know!

Digimon Survive was my favorite digimon game it was dark visual novel
Digimon games having these problems isnt the series' fault, its the rights holders. Bandai didnt make the original world series in house until the Namco aquisition, a majority of older digimon games were made by different studios altogether and the newer ones are all made by the historically inconsistent Namco.
Game wise I'm a pokemon fan, but anime wise big Digimon fan
For example the 'Worlds' are RPG games with monster raising/Tamagotchi elements in it, the 'Stories' are RPG with Dungeon Crawler elements in it (btw even tho the game Jaiden was playing is called Digimon World in the west, it's actually a Digimon Story game in Japan).
yo Don u good? sound like u lost your voice..hope yall have a good day & love the content
Yes! Digimon Rumble Arena! Thank you for reminding me of thaat game, your right that game was amazing
That game was GOLD!! I'm so glad someone else played it -OtakuaRen
Its probably my nintendo Mind set but that sounds more like a side game of the digimon like mystery dungeon for pokemon and like the 20 kinds of side games for mario
I love both digimon and pokemon but from the limit games and the fact I got nintendo consoles I got into digimon from the anime
The game you are talking aere digimon arena rumble arena
Hard question, most digimon games are bad, but at least they try to do a good game whit the resorces they have way more than pokémon does, specialy recently
Never cared for Digimon, as a kid. My cousin LOVED it, but I preferred Pokemon.
By the way, Sonic Mania remains the GOAT, in terms of Sonic games; and that's not even a Sonic Team-creation.
Digimon Rumble Arena 2 was by far the best game
Tbh I prefer digimon cuz the plot actually MOVES and it’s more mature just watch digimon ghost Gulusgammamon is a serial killer
And digimon survive game is good horror
From what all the digifans said they all suck in their own way
Just gotta put it out there dusk is my fav.
@@yarc9 digimon world 4 does it better because it’s not repetitive like Pokemon mystery dungeon is
Digimon world 1 and 2 for the games that she should have just gone for. You can actually see and avoid Digimon in those games if you want to instead of it just being random run ins
digimon dawn and dusk, i will never recommend (and i played it and i never finished it) it was pain. cyber sleuth though, easier and at least more fun
Bruh averge pokemon fan if I can’t win with one hit I don’t want to play .
Digimon is better digimon rules !!!
I have d-ark digivice and biyomon plush and I am happy being a digi destdent
Hm, maybe the other Version would’ve been better?
Digimon Anime and the pokemon games
Yeh Digimon in not a game franchise other media are better to get in to the franchise
i love digimon cartoon but the game nah
digimon world ds is better then this so no
I loved digimon before I watched pokemon so I will always love it along with pokemon.
This girl cant play a single serious game cause all she is prepared for is pokemon games wich are made for 5 years old kids.
Sometimes we all need a break from the real world and play classic childhood favorites. Nothing wrong with it 😊
