Great runthrough Rahdo, and great game too. Loved the design and the motto for this game (I live near Estoril). MesaBoardGames and Gil D'Orey are becoming my favorite board game designers (and they're super nice with their customers). I still prefer the original rules, because it adds the element of surprise.
This is such a clean, fun and simple design. Love it, and the art makes it even better. (TMG should hire the artist and graphic designer and get them to work on Yokohama :) )
Richard - a technical question - how do you get this POV on a tripod? It's not the bird's eye view of the static cam, so is the tripod in front of your face? Over your shoulder? It's a great angle but I can't quite figure out how you have it so tight and are still free to move both your hands so easily around it.
i've got the tripod directly in front of me, on the table, and i'm reaching around it to reach the game and trying to peer between the legs of the tripod to see what's happening :) someday i'll have jen film video of me filming games to show how i set everything up :)
Wow, that's tough! And you must have long arms... More behind the scenes is a great idea (I liked the peek we got in one of the live runthroughs) Between this way of shooting and the fact that you hold a camera in one hand throughout your non-static runthroughs, I'm not sure we viewers fully appreciate the effort you put into these videos. However, it definitely has an effect - your videos have an immediacy and proximity that a lot of other, even 'edited', videos simply do not. Terrific stuff!
