What's going on with the train at 21:05 ? Sounds like an abnormally loud whining sound from one of the DPUs ? Traction motor?
They are on a descending grade, and sound like they are in full Dynamic.
I was wondering the same. He was climbing a hill and we heard for a good 5 minutes before he got to us as well as 5ish minutes after he passed. Very loud for climbing a hill
Most people call it the EMD howl. You don’t hear often at all and it only makes that noise when it’s pulling pretty hard
Great video! I am visiting this May, any recommendations on the best spots to hit? Also, would you happen to know generally what the snow is like in mid-late May? Not exactly sure what type of weather to prepare for. Thanks!
