    Love the music you play. How do you pick which family member gets to go with you? I have stage 4 cancer and can't go anywhere so I am living vicariously through y'all. I love your vlogs, I think I have watched them all. God bless you and your family. You just don't know what your vlogs help me survive the days.

      And as for a child with me... kind of rotated them to "keep it fair." Some trips also depended on their availability and their interest in an area. So many good memories and the building of our relationships.

    This video made me smile from beginning to end. I love the great dynamic between father and daughter. I've always thought that it would be nice to one day have a son to take on outdoor adventures (or to just throw a football or baseball around the yard). However, your videos show that the relationship between fathers and daughters can be amazing. As much as your videos inspire me to visit America's different National Parks, they also inspire me to one day be a good and godly father who can lead by example. I offer a sincere thank you.

    Hey Randy just checking out an old video of yours! You guys really did a lot in a day and a half in the park! I appreciate you showing all this to us. Next week actually I have my vacation time and I'm going to be spending 12 days up on the Northern California coast mainly between Fort Bragg in the Oregon border. I will be spending a good amount of time at the Redwoods National Park and state parks. Thanks for all the information my friend 👍.

    Randy, You know how much I agree with others here on your fantastic "lead by example" of how to enjoy these times with your children. Hailey was the lucky one to tour these forests with you. We now drive every year from Seattle to the Sonoma Coast to spend a week with friends.This road trip always includes a few days in the Redwoods (and the 101 along Oregon Coast on the return). Hailey is correct, the look on her face says it all about the trees, and yes, you can spend a week there, Hailey. Prairie Creek State Park is our favorite. We always picnic there. Fern Canyon in Prairie Creek is also world famous. 5 out of 5 stars from Hailey! The CA-1 falls out every year, so until they move the road inland (I dread the day) the highway construction is annual. Hailey has never looked so happy on the horse. Finally, Hailey gets her campfire at Crescent City! Note: We assume that Hailey's STAR WARS comment at the end of the Vlog is in reference to her learning that Moon of Endor scenes in Episode VI were filmed there? THANK YOU FOR TAKING US WITH YOU! . . . Mike

    Great Video Randy! When we went in 2015, we only had a half a day to see the Redwoods.Even with that time its one of my family's favorites. My Redwoods video just doesn't do it justice at all but yours really does a good job of capturing all there is to see there.Its definitely on our re-do someday list. Also, i found a really cool Facebook National Park Fan page that is just full of geeks who love everything National parks. Its all about sharing experiences/ Photo's and videos.i already posted some of mine to the page and your views really jump by doing so. Pretty cool page and if you want more info on it ill be happy to shoot you a e-mail. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure! Now get some sleep!

    Another great adventure Randy! Loved it. You guys are hardcore lol, I would actually have to take some relax time around the campfire I think :) but when you have limited time to see so much I completely understand why you have to go go go!

    • @AmericasParks
      @AmericasParks  7 лет назад

      Great, Jason! Found it best when I travel out west to keep my body on east cost time (3 hours ahead). Maximizes my day - up early and to sleep when the sun is setting. Love relaxing and a good campfire, but as you said, it's all about doing as much as I can with the sunlight...and physical energy! Have a nice week!

    Beautiful country! It wouldn't be an adventure without a couple hicups along the way. The locked shower door was a fun documented glitch.
    I'm with you, when on the trail sleep, Uno & camp fires come second to exploring what the trail has to offer.

    Oh, you missed the Trees of Mystery behind the Paul Bunyan statue, really worth the price and time to look at it and take the nature hike through it. It has some very unusual giant redwoods, it's one of a kind.

    Will be travelling southbound from Eugene, Oregon to Arcata, California. What's the most efficient way to visit Redwood Park if I only have 4-5 hours? Thanks!

    • @AmericasParks
      @AmericasParks  5 лет назад

      Hey John, was there a couple years ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy and I'm not as knowledgeable of that National Park as I am of many others. As you said, 4-5 hours is not much time and the park is N-S fairly large. My best advice would be to immediately hit one of the visitor centers and ask a Ranger your specific question. They can hear what you are interested in and plan a course of action. I know we really enjoyed fern canyon and Jedediah Smith Sate Park up to the north. Enjoy your time there! www.nps.gov/redw/planyourvisit/upload/The-Official-Map-of-RNSP-11x14-v2011-508.pdf

    More memories, been to every location in the vid and all the rest. Next time check out the Pygmy Forest, worth the hike. For those in central Ca. E. of Auburn there is also a park called Big Trees goo.gl/maps/2v7ZAVuB6R5LrFGC6 and if you like to try gold panning any of the rivers/streams within 20 miles will have gold in them.
