Is not just your amazing skills in such a tiny machine, is your music!!! Amazing 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 please keep on showing us the way. Thanks for shearing your music and knowledge ✌🏻
How does this not have more views? This is sick af. For real though the same people get all the views with the op-1 and they’re kind of wack. This was nasty bro.
Hey man, thanks so much - appreciate you taking the time. This is the stuff that motivates me to make build new sets. Maybe one day I'll be able to steal some views off of the major players 😂 ...
@@HoochMusic Dude, it’s so unreal that you don’t though. Sure some channels have great tutorials about the op, but this actually inspired me!! Made a few beats immediately after watching and added mobb deep acapellas to it and tried to do what you were doing. Never seen someone own the op-1 like that haha!
@@MyNameJeff.. hmmm perhaps the next vid should be a tutorial haha… thanks again, i’m glad I could inspire some tunes. Please link me if you decide to chuck your stuff up on YT so I can have a listen 👊
Hey, thank you! Here is an old break down of my process on the OG-1 with a housey sorta tune: ruclips.net/video/XZOqQ2GpxLg/видео.htmlsi=JnRWN1YNWf0bl2k7 I’ll try to make a new vid on the Field soon specifically for this set. Thanks again for the support 🤝
Good job bro, you maxing the potential of that piece of gear. Keep it up. I have the Op-1 original myself and I always thought it was underutilized/under appreciated in hip hop based of its limitations. Yet, the results are always the exact opposite 🙌🏿🤘🏿👏🏿
Thanks bro, really appreciate you taking the time. I agree - there aren’t many decent examples of hip hop on the OP-1, but I think it leans into it pretty well. Maybe because there are no pads hip hop heads don’t see it as being legit 🤷♂️
Thanks man! I’m actually not sure what it is but all the samples in this track I got from the same record and it wasn’t car wash… def same era though 👏.
Hey thanks man! A second hand one might be worth it, the bricked firmware with the moose and dry fx settings is a lot better than original firmware. It’s only four mono tracks though, so at that price range you have many options that will allow you more tracks and probably even stereo tracks.
@@HoochMusic yesterday I've made a very unconventional move. I sold the op-1 field and bought immediately in my city and OG OP1 for a great price. The OG have a much better build quality, especially the keyboard and I actually enjoy more it's aliasing sound for the style of music I make. The field was awesome of course but by selling I could buy the OG + a digitakt 2 with the extra cash! Very happy with this move. Keep up the great op1 live set going ! 😊
Yes mate that sounds like a great move ✅. I have been tempted to move into the Elektron world, the digi 2 sounds great. More tracks and still get the OP-1 sound engines and workflow when you want it. If you’re going to use it live, it’s def worth having a look at the bricked firmware for the OG-1 to get the most out of it.
Hey, how does this even work? I'm thinking of buying this machine and been reading a lot of reviews people saying it's very limiting, but they way you work with it - gives me hope. I imagine you're running 4 mixes on 4 tracks and somehow jump between them, add effects? Or is this music actually produced by you?
Hey mate. I produced the music here. I have posted a video that explains my production process on my channel for the OG-1, but it’s no different for the Field.
Haha yeh it was all done inside the op-1. I’ve built plenty of similar sets with the OG too so if you don’t mind having 4 mono tracks you can save some cash 💰…
It my style of music. But man, you hhhandled THAT. You ever play live in a venue somewhere with JUST the op1? Or would you? I don’t see any videos of anybody doing that.
@@HoochMusic You play at a bar or some venue? Or just friends? I feel like maybe people don’t take you as seriously if you’re gear is small or you only have one item. Seems like people want esoteric stuff on table and modular cables that baffles them..
@Master-Servant yep, I’ve played plenty of bars and it works well. Most of the punters just think you’re a DJ with a big MP3 player 🤣. The modular stuff is more club vibes. Check out my insta and you’ll see some of the venues: @hoochmusic_
@@HoochMusic haha-I can see why. You feel better playing modular gear in a paying venue ? That’s kind of what I’m worried about: that’ll look like a puts. I love modular too. Thought about just 2 soma pieces. But want to try an op1 Field because it’s so small and portable and capable.
Almost all of the gigs I’ve played with my OP-1 are paid gigs - people think you’re a DJ and then they’re shocked to learn that the music is original. As long as it sounds good, they really don’t mind 😆. At a club, with a dance floor, you’re a focus. At a bar, you just need to not piss anybody off haha.
Finally somebody who does real hip hop on this thing
Haha, thanks man! 👊
God of OP-1
Thanks heaps man 👊 new Field hip hop set this month.
You are very skilled well done!
Thank you so much 🤗

Nice. I’d like to see this run into the sp404 mk 2 for some of its cool effects.

How were you able to switch to different songs?
I’m moving between loops on the tape by hitting shift+arrow. Fx help to blend tracks together, particularly filter and delay.
