You usually start looting after the fight while the rat is still there. Why not back up for some regenerating and go back for the loot? I mean the loots got protected for 1min and 30s, there's plenty of time to not risk your set
Actually, my choice changes according to the field of fight. There are positions where I stay away and feel comfortable knowing that the loot is protected, and there are also fights where I want to take the loot and get away from there or get involved in a new fight. It's all about that moment.
