- Hi, in this video I show you how I made a fairy cottage using some old jars, cardboard and paper clay. I have a little collection of jars, I always save the ones with unusual shapes. This isn't a follow along project, because you might not have these exact jars laying around, but it's a proof of concept, something to get you started with your own jars and bottles. The way I start such a project is by selecting a few jars and play with them until I have an interesting shape, not too symmetrical, with a variety of thicknesses and heights. The next step is to glue them in place using hot glue. I know hot glue doesn't bind them together but it will hold them enough time for me to finish with the first layer of paper clay. I used cardboard from pizza boxes to make roofs and stairs. These cardboard shapes don't need to be perfect as we will cover them in clay. Next step is of course adding the first layer of paper clay. If you're new here, the clay I usually use is "Das modelling material" because it has dimensional stability when it dries, which means it doesn't shrink like a regular clay so it won't develop cracks around the jars. When adding this first layer you must decide where the windows will be and cut them out while the clay is still wet. You must work in small sections because you also need to draw and carve out the stones on the house. Don't try to finish the whole house at once because the clay might dry out before you have the chance to model it. I made the roofs in two layers. After the first layer is dry I added roof tiles, one by one starting from the bottom of the roof. For the coloring part I used watercolors that come in tubes. I colored the roofs first and then moved to the walls. I used a light color for the base, and then I added very diluted darker colors for the shadows, corners and textures. That's basically it. The two tower jars can be used as storage compartments for keys, money, jewelry and at the bottom you can easily add lights and make it a night lamp. Я на 200% была уверена, что лепить никогда в жизни не научусь. Очень многих авторов смотрела с удовольствием, но собственные руки казались деревянными. А когда наткнулась на домики Творческой Мамы - пропала. Пересмотрела на 2 раза все видео и поняла, что мне стало глубоко фиолетово, что лепить не умею. Хочу и все)) С тех пор не могу остановиться.
Мне кажется, это - самое волшебное, что делает Диана - учит людей найти сказку в себе.

I am constantly amazed about how talented you are! Great way to use jars that would normally end up being discarded, same with the cardboard. My collection of jar keep growing. Now we can't even recycle them in our town because the market for glass recycling has hit a low. I have to try to convince myself to follow along and then cross my finger that I can make things as beautiful.

Just amazing work that you do! Another masterpiece! I wish i had the imagination that you have! ... Especially when it comes to the details and texturizing of the rocks, plants, mushrooms - and the wooden doors, window sills, etc. - and even more so with the painting & blending of colours that makes the depth pop out even more. Татьяна, в описание можно впихнуть не больше 5 000 знаков. Диана пишет там пошаговое руководство к работе. На нескольких языках не влезет. Вы сами можете переводить. Копируете описание и вставляете в Гугл или Яндекс переводчик.
В этом проекте самозастывающая масса для лепки и акварель в тюбиках. Раньше Диана использовала самодельную бумажную глину. Рецепт поищите на канале, он точно есть, я с этого рецепта начинала, только спустя полгода начала с ним экспериментировать. Там в описании даже на русском есть состав, но машинный перевод немного исковеркал шпатлевку. Как-то там интересно было написано.)) Если что, речь идет о сухой строительной смеси - шпатлевке на гипсовой основе.

Вопрос возник по поводу глины (самозаписывающая масса) для лепки и красок. Мастер с ними работает, и может подсказать наиболее лучших производителей. А если Вам не жалко, может Вы поделитесь?🤭

Диана после самодельной массы всегда использовала DAS. Знаю, потому, что всё перевожу: и описание, и ответы на вопросы в комментариях - там бывает много интересных уточнений.
А я не пользовалась никогда покупными массами.
Когда почти 3 года назад наткнулась на канал Дианы, была на 100 % уверена, что насчет лепки руки у меня точно не из плеч. Решила сначала самодельную массу сделать по рецепту, который Диана давала. Чтобы не жалко было, если ничего не получится.))
Ну, а потом "докрутила" рецепт под свои потребности и предпочтения. И необходимость покупать совсем отпала. Если нужно - рецепт мне не жалко, он в открытом доступе у меня на канале с октября лежит. Я с ним еще буду колдовать. Заодно и на домики можете глянуть. Идеи Дианы я не копирую, я ими только вдохновляюсь.))
