This is the most technically accomplished version of this aria I have ever heard. Among its many joys: she throws off the three trills at the end with carefree assurance, when most other sopranos struggle with the last, or the last two, or even all of them. As if to underline her ease, she sings the sustained note after the second trill in straight tone and then the tricky run after it with the same aplomb as the trills. I've never thought of her as much of an actress, but in moments like this she just sings the music as written, lets it speak for itself, and thereby gives it all the dramatic impact it needs. The tempo is slow, taxing her lower register and forcing her occasionally to take breaths where they shouldn't be necessary, but overall it works.
Ei parte ... senti ... ah no! Partir si lasci, Si tolga ai sguardi miei l'infausto oggetto Della mia debolezza. A qual cimento Il barbaro mi pose! Un premio è questo Ben dovuto a mie colpe! In tale istante Dovea di nuovo amante I sospiri ascoltar? L'altrui querele Dovea volger in gioco?
She sang too Donna Anna in La Scala 1987 in a extraordinary production with Sir Thomas Allen, Ann Murray, Francisco Araiza... and she has sung Sifare too in Mitridate, Electra in Idomeneo with Pavarotti and Baltsa, La finta giardinera, Die Zauberflöte,....

Incomparable, unsurpassed... one of the best Mozart sopranos ever, if not the best one
An operatic singer/voice professor remarked on this. I can see/hear why--Gruberova has it all here. Thanks for posting!
Of course! She puts so much emotion into her characters.
Gruberova is both a joy to hear and to watch. She is a gem.
Dear god, what just happened between 9:03 and 9:41??? That was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! :'-O
Musical poetry of the very highest order......
amazing trills amongst other things
Ten minutes of shear bliss.
Superb.
RIP Edita 💐💔🌹
Ei parte ... senti ... ah no! Partir si lasci,
Si tolga ai sguardi miei l'infausto oggetto
Della mia debolezza. A qual cimento
Il barbaro mi pose! Un premio è questo
Ben dovuto a mie colpe!
In tale istante
Dovea di nuovo amante
I sospiri ascoltar? L'altrui querele
Dovea volger in gioco? Ah, questo core
A ragione condanni, o giusto amore!

D'un amor virtuoso; è smania, affanno,
Rimorso, pentimento,
Leggerezza, perfidia e tradimento!
Per pietà, ben mio, perdona
All'error d'un'alma amante;
Fra quest'ombre e queste piante
Sempre ascoso, oh Dio, sarà.
Svenerà quest'empia voglia
L'ardir mio, la mia costanza,
Perderà la rimembranza
Che vergogna e orror mi fa.
A chi mai mancò di fede
Questo vano ingrato cor?

Que maravillosa interpretación.¡¡
A real joy both to listen and to see!
Divinely!

💐 Bravo 💐 09:45 💐
Caro bene
Ma la civetteria nel finale e' ovvia
I think that, except for her Italian pronounciation, Susan Chilcott is the best performer of this aria.
to watch??? really?
