I love this car its design is beautiful and the interior with the ambient lighting is spectacular I get compliments on it all the time. It has a sporty controlled ride. I actually prefer its design to the cla. I like the better headroom and I think that the rear looks better than the cla. Even though its being discontinued I think that its design well age well.
I agree 100% I have one also. It's fun to drive, plenty of room in the front though the back is a bit tight. I drove the CLA before I bought this and felt claustrophobic. I love this car
@@andrae1600 I e had it almost 2 years and put 40,000 miles. I did blow a head gasket at 30,000 that was covered under warranty. (It’s a 6-10k job) they found a problem with the fuel valve and have since upped the warranty on that valve to 5 years/150,000 miles👍 my only other issue is not with the car but with the “run flat” tires. They’re only good for 17-22,000 miles ( maybe a bit more on the rear) the run flats are good and bad! You’ll never get stuck anywhere but they don’t get the mileage of a traditional tire. I love this car 👍
I think this car is nice but the issue is it says it starts at 33k but when you put 4matic and build, it jumps to 37k to start and that is before adding anything which makes it a lot. After I build it to the way I would want, it is $41k. Does not sound bad until you consider the size and that the GLB with the same upgrades for what I want come in at about 43-45k.
@@jullyvaldez2076 I understand that but in my previous post I am comparing it to another in the same brand lineup that kills it for value per size of the car.
The only issue I have had was with the coolant at around 11k, it had a small leak and Mercedes replaced it under warranty. I’m not that happy with the wear on the Pirelli tires but the car over all has been a dream. So far I’m keeping it, lease is due next yr
Bro got mine around that some time with the night package and amg style as well. I love it for now but the gas is going quick whenever I drive in sport and the brake pads/tires go pretty quick for me.
@@bendingwarrior1 Breaks and tires are usually a direct reflection on how you drive, if you’re heavy on the breaks and go fast on turns they’re bound to go bad quick
And to think that this car cost more or less the same as a Camry except you actually get a sunroof and more luxury with the A220. However the Camry V6 might have it beat in performance and reliability. I’m currently looking into buying my first car, if I do get this I’m definitely leasing.

If they are having chip shortages, cutting down on electric features. They should give a discount on there MSRP to. It’s just cheating by the manufacturer

Just got a 22 loner for $36.5k. I still a little worried though (I’ve never had anything this expensive). No navigation though, I have the option to bye for $500 as an OTA update
its simple the a220 did it job it brought ALOT of people in mercedes for its price but when they put the same interior into the new cla the cla sold better with the shortage of parts they choose the one that sells more
I have a 21 A220 and the auto seats came standard. I would never have bought this if it didnt have that feature. Seems strange that some models have the auto seat feature and others do not.
I like the a220 but have questions about maintaince and cost of ownership. The annual maintaince cost is estimated to be $1200/year, is this true? Is the car reliable and will it be a good long term ownership car?
german whips are german whips so estimations can be far off just because it’s perfectly possible to drive it a long while with no problems and equally as possible to have one where you have to take it into the shop often. benzes are for the breaded so although it’s a “cheaper mercedes” make sure you have the money ready to drop on insurance and maintenance bills
I have the 2021 a220 and I love it. Some advice if you want to avoid 99% of your issues and maintenance fees though, buy aftermarket slotted/drilled brake disc's and pads. The breaks are amazing but overheat very quickly
@@amaurysarmiento3952 I have the prepaid maintenence. My fathers worked at mercedes for 10+ years in the finance department so he got me the hookup. The only reason I mention maintenence is because of small things that add up. Like the rotors, they are solid on the stock a220 and I find that they go in less than 6 months. This also causes issues with the pads obviously so then most people assume it's just their brake pads when in reality their rotors are stained with blue spots from heat warping them. Getting another set of front/back rotors with proper channels to distribute the heat and you'll be good for a year minimum. Also, I love my A220 don't get it Twisted. No, they aren't making a mistake. Both the A-Class and CLA are not needed. This car doesn't live up to the Mercedes standard either. The CLA is miles better in it's second generation and should be the entry point in the USA.
