Just finished this scenario yesterday. Absolutely loved it. Edit: Wow, I missed that cargo box on the station. It was a dead end so I just Halo jumped down to the lava planet. Kind wished I thought about the moon. I did use the factory though, died a couple of times but used the respawn at current location, the arms dealer on the station was bugged and I couldn't trade. Found a few good POIs to loot and lived off the land. Great fun.
Hard difficulty at best :) You have plenty of resources, you spawn on an oxygenated ship with a MEDBAY! All of the initial challenge is to salvage bits and bobs and shoot some drones. While interesting, this is definitely easier than Hardest settings on Reforged Eden especially Dark Rogue start. Fun though, and an interesting change of pace.
As you were putting the steel blocks on the SV, it got me thinking, "wouldn't it be something if a plasma drone came along and blasted that thing to bits?"
This is interesting scenario, nice change of pace from the usual. Love the challenge as you're stranded in space & struggling to survive. Would like to see more 👍.

I'll be honest, I do not understand why people say it's so hard to get to the station and not die. I had no trouble getting there. Sure, suffering frostbite, hypothermia, etc, and at half health, but first stop being the station med bay, a quick shower and heal (free), and I'm in business!
This reminds me of space engineers with the space starts, haven't played that game in ages and not sure i could these days but it's cool to see a neat space scenario in Empyrion.
Hey Spanj, Good to see you in game still. Empyrion's' logistics are superfast and I like the textures and crafting. But the NPC's never got upgraded, hum.
It made it so much more fun that you did not use the Factory to bypass the plot of this scenario. Really throws you into the RP aspect of being stranded in space. It felt like Living a lost in space episode or something like that. Having to carefully salvage the thing your living in to make a piece of junk to escape was awesome! It really hit the itch of wanting a kind of story plot from Empyrion and less sandbox play.

You seem to have engaged hard mode. Every thing you need to get to the station is in the scout. You know that is a standard trade station so you know there is an EVA on it. Grab the coffee and all the heals and the ointment. Grab all the boosts and go for it. At about a temp of around 15 pop your coffee and then fix frostbite as it happens and heal as needed. You should hit the station with two heals left. Done deal. Just remember to run up to the med bay and use the health station. The free SV was just a cool bonus. One problem is that it does not show on the map so don't lose it. I just made an SV block and use the parts from it to whip up my own. with the basics from the station and a handful of crushed stone and around 100 cobalt ore from the moon your done. Just make stuff and sell it as needed. One point, as the scout starts as public the drones will not attack it so your safe in the station or the scout at first.
@@Spanj Nether are better however the latter is more entertaining and the former is faster. Now we get all the fun of watching you build a base from scratch now that the scout is gone :) For extra style points you can build it on the molten hell hole :)
maybe you mentioned it but couldnt you just craft a pilot seat and fly that CV? maybe rearrange the thrusters? idk was just a thought. it seems like a really cool start. i may try it even though its really short. good vid
Usually (I admittedly wasn't paying attention in this instance) such a thing is labeled as a Base, so you wouldn't typically be able to do such a thing. However, as the prompt mentioned there being multiple avenues of progression, that may indeed be an option.
on the top floor of the trade station there is also another locker you can acess and down below in the only box you can open there is a core that you can use to take apart a crappy sv maybe get an extra thruster.
Might not work but I would have tried to trim the back of the ship off. Rearrange the existing thrusters and limped over to the trade station. I thought I saw 4 or 5 thrusters.
there is another option also if you go to those Polaris patrol vessel you will notice they can be accessed with a vessel key. There is away to get that key.
1:35 They did make the easy mode start disgustingly easy to the point of boring. There are barely any threats, there are no Xerax base attacks or any Xerax at all in the starting worlds. There might be one small faction that's hostile to the player but easily ignored. They even have friggin' butterflies that flutter around you, and give you health! It's like a fantasy land, so why build a ship to leave it? Fortunately there are choices in this game!
really nice hard scenario, had to restart 3 times till i got the timing to not lose the core to some drone :( In the Statiuon at the uppermost level there is a personal locker accessible with some nice stuff
Check out KnowitallDM ‘s star salvage mod. It’s a wip, but come a long way. It’s got a really good stranded in space hard start. You start after just having awakened from a cryopod in a space junkyard and your ship just got boarded by zirax. You need to find a weapon, and fight your way through the zirax farming them for food drops as you go until you can get to the nearby planet. It’s really good fun.
I jumped to the lava planet and survived long enough to make a ship and leave, it was hard as hell and the oxygen quality was 1%. also the ores were not easily accessible so I just mined a crap ton of cracked stone and made it in to the ores I needed and the robots drop a lot of fuel too power the ship I made.
When you start a new game it seems to hold onto some of the settings/things you did in a previous save. I started a new game to try something different and the Space Station already had a waypoint set which is something I did in the previous save. The storage container etc near the ship also contained very few items and no multitool like the first game I started
I first scrapped everything, exept energy maschinery and constructor to build a small vessel, only to realize, there isn't enough carbon 🙈. Spoiler Alarm, don't read further, if you like challenge. Took some armour power ups, my plasma cannon and did a ride to the station. I got there in one piece, but nearly frozen. Used up some healing items to get there, but that was the solution. Bought carbon, some other stuff, hev-suit addon and had cosy flight back to build my supersmall vessel, or call it rocket chair to the moon. Rest was grinding and fighting until i had a warp drive. Nice scenario.
It was very very difficult as i have not played and had to get used to everything again but this is what empyrion should be like a great survvival crafting game love the escape from a destroyed ship senario. Took me forever died tons of times took a few days until it all came together and i was able to warp to the beach and meet my ship. Just a great senario next time i'll try to survive on the lava planet. Escape the lava planet! I like to think of it as i won a ticket on elon musks space x and something went wrong and my ship crashed on venus and now i have to survive! In game maybe but IRL? NOPE! Any human would be dead way before hitting the ground.

Getting enough flux coils via harvesting drones is the challenge for a pilot chair.

Send the drone the last 60 m to loot, then save time getting back heating up.

I was trying this as I was watching and a stray shot from a Drone took out the core. Noooooooo! . . . . restart.
I used jetpack to station, no issues just use med hits, then use shower at station.
Is that a ship or a station that looks like a ship? I would try putting a thruster on it forget trying to spawn in a completely new vessel

Empyrion should switch to Unreal Engine 5, it would help with the lag and ship sizes and improve graphics.

Why not use "retrieve blocks" instead of "salvage" so you can have more than one thruster at the start ?
you would be retrieving CV thrusters, you cant use those on an SV, same for any of the other blocks on that ship.

Might want to double check..the floating bits outside of ship are BA. But the core ship is a CV entity.
um spang not to second gess you but your ship had power fuel a cockpit seat and thrusters you could have just flew your busted ship to the station lol
it was a passenger seat not a cockpit, its also a POI so not flyable
