First arrest made in 'flash mob'-style burglary at luxury Glendale clothing store

- Glendale police have made the first of what is expected to be multiple arrests related to a "flash mob"-style burglary at a high-end store at the Americana at Brand shopping center. Ivan Isaac Ramirez, 23, of Los Angeles, was arrested Thursday morning at an undisclosed location as part of a Glendale Police Department operation.
Ramirez was arrested for his alleged role in a burglary that took place last week at Yves Saint Lauren, a luxury clothing and accessories store that has a location in the Americana.

Arrests mean nothing unless they’re prosecuted. Prosecutions means nothing if they’re not convicted. Convictions mean nothing unless they’re sentenced accordingly.

One million dollars bail. Try raising that kind of money. In Stockton, California. The Stockton Police Department, San Joaquin County Sheriff, The FBI, and Department of Homeland Security raided a warehouse that had an eviction notice. It was the standard 3 days to pay rent or to vacate premises, the person had not paid rent for 90 days. They had to get the property owner who has a "pass key"to open the warehouse. They found over 3 million dollars of stolen items from Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, Walgreen's, CVS, Safeway and other stores. They did arrest the person and is charged for a federal offense. The items were being sold on ebay and customers were from around the country. Whoever bought those items will have to turn them over to the police or sheriff's department or to The FBI. They bought stolen merchandise and the stores want them back.

Make it difficult for the perpetrators to get in and out. One way of deterring this activities is to make separate doors for enter and exit. Allow in only one customer at a time and only those without face covering. A camera should be installed to focus on those who are coming in. The enter door should not open for exit. The exit door should have an overhead device that spray dyed powder or sticky substance to perpetrator to mark them and impair their movements.
