    This is awesome, thank you! I sure would love to see a future photo of this grafted plant! I saw a photo of a Christmas cactus grafted into a double topiary, it was so beautiful, I went in search of how to create it. Thank you for this great video!

      You're welcome. The graft is doing well, though no flowers yet. I'll post an update in the future. Tnx and be sure to share the video!

    I love your video! but I didn't see you water it at all , when do you start giving it some water.

    • @PracticalGardening
      @PracticalGardening  2 года назад +1

      Watering will be the same as though there was no graft to the dragonfruit. The dragonfruit plant doesn't need plenty of water. Once a week for me is enough. As a rule of thumb, when the soil surface is dry, that's the time to water. Tnx for dropping by!

    Very detailed video thanks❤
    My question is can i graft on rootstock or other cactus too or just on dragon fruit?

      I've read that you can try too to other cactus rootstock. But for me, I haven't been successful other than with the dragonfruit.

    What is Christmas cactus. Will it bloom? Skill is required for this type of grafting. Thank you very much.

      Christmas cactus is a type of the Holiday Cactus and this includes Easter and Thanksgiving cactus. Yes, they bloom . Grafting is very easy to do. Just view the video. For detailed instructions, here: www.practicalgardening.blackdovenest.com/2021/04/graft-christmas-cactus-to-dragon-fruit.html

    This is really helpful - I have tried many times to graft schlumbergera to dragonfruit and they always fail.
    Curious how would you graft a schlumbergera to the top of a dragonfruit?

    • @PracticalGardening
      @PracticalGardening  2 года назад

      Thank you. I've not tried grafting on top the dragon fruit, but I think it would work. Just choose a spot on top of the ridges. The center of the dragon fruit is hard so avoid that.

    • @pinkspatzi
      @pinkspatzi 2 года назад +1

      @@PracticalGardening The top center is where I've always tried! I'm going to practice on side ridges and then try the top where you suggest. Thanks!

    What's the purpose of this?

    • @PracticalGardening
      @PracticalGardening  Год назад +2

      Holiday Cacti have trouble growing where I am, so grafting it to a robust stock is one way to go.
