My Fiance and I are from Maryland originally. She and I moved to the North Shore of MA, specifically Rockport for a brief stint for work opportunities. Ipswich was one of our favorite towns to visit and unwind. She and I were very homesick, as we lived in Maryland with our family our whole lives. Ipswich brought us a lot of comfort for some reason and we spent many a homesick night at Ipswich Ale Brewing and True North (shout out!). Truly a beautiful town and surrounding area.
I can't wait to go back to visit!

Exactly. I'm a huge Lovecraft afficianado. He loved the north shore. Especially Ipswich and Newburyport. I've also just heard that the remake of Salem's Lot will be filming in Ipswich. Interesting.

New England is the most beautiful state in the nation. The soil is amazing for gardening too, wicked thick and fertile. You can still find old canals they dug out here 100s of years ago.

I just got through reading "The Orchard" by Adele Crockett Robertson.💇 About one woman's struggle in the 1930's to keep to keep her family's apple orchard🍎🍏🍊 from being taken over by the bank🏨. Wonderful reading📘📗📕📒📔📓& it made curious about the town & it's history.📜

Largely Puritans of English descent. I'm from the Greater Boston area, and beautiful Ipswich is widely acknowledged for having THE best-preserved Puritan town. Yes, a splash of modern-day and technology galore today, but to see a lot of their English (forefathers') original architectural influence is priceless for throngs of tourists/historians who will visit every year.
Glad you liked your visit to Ipswich, MA. It (and much of Cape Ann) is a special slice of heaven.

@@mikes3827 Living in eastern England I noticed a lot of familiar place name. I found Salem was very similar,in it's feel, to an English town.

@@pandorapiam3374 Absolutely. In addition to Salem, there are a slew of other towns/cities in Massachusetts named after English locations. Cambridge, Boston, Gloucester, Essex, Hull, Manchester, etc., etc. As both the UK and US have long been STRONG allies with one another (a VERY good thing), it's almost hard to believe during colonial days (1700s-early 1800s) that we were once mortal enemies.
