Last Monday I lost my father. Never thought that It would hurt that much. Just a couple of hours ago, I was sitting on his bed, holding his little portable radio in my hands ...I've also lost, 1/3 of my uncles and aunts, from viruses and cancers, the last 3 years, so I feel you man.. My only advice, to younger people, is to respect , listen to their parents and try to avoid hurting them, because someday, you'll regret for every single time, you didn't and the pain of both the loss and your mistakes, will be unbearable. Love and peace, to you and your families!
I’m so sorry for your loss. Loving someone means that you have to be open to pain, and hurt, and loss. There is some hurt between me and members of my family (probably all families are like that). But I know that at the end of the day, I loved far more than I was hurt. I hope that is the same for you.
I feel your pain, .. The doctors said ...my mom,s heart is too damaged from the covid jabs and boosters. every time she took a shot or booster, it was followed by a heart attack 4-6 days after. yet the government pushed these untested c-jabs on her...and it damaged her heart so bad, that the best surgeons couldn't do anything for her. She passed away in 2023 Nov, before Christmas...5 mths now ..I'm grateful that i was always kind and supportive to my mom... She left us, on her own term...MAID services. it still hurts though, but my love for her is strong. it helps alot
I'm sorry for the loss of your uncle. Cousin Jeff's right about the library. It's weird to drive by their homes and you can't go see them. Sending good vibes.
Thank you. To love is to be open to loss. There are many days like this ahead, but for the reason that there are so many that I love. Bitersweet, but I was glad to know him.
this is the first review I've come across saying it doesn't come with the converter. Most listings I see for this say it does come with one, but I noticed Curidas pens from Amazon don't come with one, either. Mine didn't even come with the cleaning kit.
That’s probably why this listing is so much cheaper than the other ones for the same pen. It must be some sort of bare bones packaging or something like that. Even having to buy a converter, I still asked a lot of money buying it this way, so I have no complaints.
The library is such a great metaphor, Stephen. On the pen, I really enjoy the Curidas (mine's a medium), and it has been just great. And you're right about the price, too. Great video.
Thank you for your kind words. I think a lot of people would love a Platinum Medium. The efs are awesome for drawing, but if I were using mine as a writing instrument, I think I would want a medium as well.
RIP to your uncle, and a very pleasant drawing! I never looked into that pen because I seen a few negative reviews. I like the convenience of the capless pens, i.e. the Vanishing Point. The VP is too heavy for me though, so maybe I'll like this one. Ever try the Lamy Dialog?
There is definitely a weight difference here, so it might be something worth looking into (price difference too, which I another reason I own this and not a VP). The Lamy Dialog is a bit out of my price range at this time, but I have always looked fondly at it. Maybe someday!
I'm a big fan of Pilot pens. For the same reasons you love the Platinum pens. And I was planning on buying a Pilot Capless. However, after a few reviews, I decided to switch my attention to the Platinum Curidas. Thanks for the fine and detailed review, which confirms my conclusions! P.S. I'm sorry for the loss of your uncle. Life and death issues of loved ones are always painful. P.P.S. I apologize for the quality of the translation( I use a program). Greetings from Ukraine!
Thanks for your kind words! I use translation all the time when someone sends me a message in one of the (all but 2) languages I can’t speak. I understood you perfectly. Hope you love your Curidas! Mine has gotten a lot of use these past few months. I also love Pilot pens, even though their converters are weird. If I ever have the money, I’d love to get and review a Vanishing Point for this channel. Hoping you and yours are safe and healthy in Ukraine!
Hola, frellicidades por tu canal. Me encanta.
There’s always that half blessing of a funeral, where you get to see so many people you haven’t seen in a long time, and once the stories start… it’s like medicine.
Thanks for sharing your video. The pen colour is graphite smoke right? It looks quite blue-ish in the lighting. Would you say it's more blue or black in person?
Honestly, I had to go and look at it again after you asked me this. I definitely see a bluish hue, but if you were to ask me if it’s grey, I would say yes. I’m sorry that’s probably a confusing answer. I guess it feels more like a blue tinted grey, if that makes sense. I do think the video captures the color really well.
I love your videos! Could you do a review on the Diplomat magnum pen? Also I'm sorry for the loss of your uncle 💔 sending you lots of love and healing 💐
Thank you. The diplomat has been on my list for a long time, but I’ve never pulled the trigger on buying one. I’m sure it will happen someday. I’ve heard wonderful things about their nibs.
I would recommend the Muji by a narrow margin. The Eco is a nice pen, but the section is prone to cracking, and even though Twsbi ships replacement parts for cheap, Muji doesn’t have to ship replacement parts, because their pens do not crack.
I have not put Platinum Carbon ink into that particular pen, but I have put it in a Platinum Preppy with no issues. Those nibs are very similar. Platinum Carbon Black is a fantastic ink for fountain pen users who also use watercolors. Another one that’s also waterproof (and not as thick) is De Atramentis Document Black (which they also make in other colors)
It’s a mixed bag with Amazon these days. Lots of 3rd party sellers, and you have no idea how long they’ve had the pen, and which version it is. Amazon is pretty convenient, but sometimes frustrating to deal with.
I wouldn’t call it scratchy, but any nib this fine is going to have some feedback, so you should expect to feel the texture of the paper when using it. For Japanese extra fines, I think Pilot makes the smoothest nibs, and Platinum makes the finest. Mostly because Pilot feeds flow a bit more wet than Platinum. The difference is pretty subtle, but do with that information what you will.
Hello, welcome to StephenInks, where you can literally always ask “what happens if I drop it,” on any one of the videos on this channel, because I am so clumsy, I have nearly dropped them all. As a matter of fact, I just dropped this one last week. It was fine. I did once own the Aliexpress knockoff of this pen, and broke it to pieces by dropping it once (on carpet, by the way) I think what it boils down to is quality of the materials, and reinforcement of the design through clever engineering. Subtle but effective.
Yes, I know I’m still trying to figure out the best setting for the focus on my new camera. I’m afraid I’m still new at it. Better versions to come in the future!

I never thought this was for me, but I’m well on board with it now! It’s especially great for art applications!
Which pen should I buy for mainly drawing and daily carry? The aluminium Muji pen or the Twsbi Eco?
I would recommend the Muji by a narrow margin. The Eco is a nice pen, but the section is prone to cracking, and even though Twsbi ships replacement parts for cheap, Muji doesn’t have to ship replacement parts, because their pens do not crack.

The little internal hood keeps it flowing. At least that’s been my experience.
@@stepheninks okay. Thanks
