The painted quality has a great deal to do with the mood that we are feeling, even more so than the imparted mood that we wish to set for the viewer. Some days I'm just off kilter enough to throw my wish for clarity out the window. It seems to me certain strains of our lives yet linger in our work, long after we have resolved them in life. The systematic building of ever increasing layer depths give a few fits with color activation, but if used to your advantage, lends a subtle quality that few mediums will ever match. Wonderful content. Thanks.
Very well said! I sometimes feel the same when I'm creating something just for my own eyes.. it's almost impossible to not let our emotions show in the painting.. but as you said when used to our advantage, we form a connection to our pieces and render something beautiful..
I really love watching your gouache painting process! I think it’s really interesting seeing the way you build up the colors! Especially interesting the way gouache reactivates in comparison to other mediums!
Just amazing work. I feel you have a great deal of patience and understanding of the process. Maybe I will try to adventure a little with gouache. Congratulations. Loved the painting. Blessings and take care.
Sooooo pleasing! I miss painting! I just want to suggest something, please include the colors that you use on the description box too, if it’s not too much for you to do! 🥺
Amazing! I love your work. I've just started using gouache and it's so helpful to see your process. Would be so grateful if you could provide a list of the colours you used & the reference photo, if that's ok. Thanks so much.
Love this series idea! Youre doing great and this piece came out just as well as the last one. I would love to see how your paint pallet looks like, you have so many clear colors for the skin, all the same thickness. Do you use multiple brushes? Looking forward to the next painting!
Loving this series! Question though - how do you avoid the gouache cracking when it dries? I have ruined so many paintings because they ended up cracking? 🤔
As a dry media artist, I really hate the long process of color mixing for wet painting, I have almost zero patience. But you make it look sooooo easy and soothing. I just get frustrated and give up.
What differences would you say is the most prominent between himi and holbein gouche qualitywise? ..btw, how does it feel to paint on extra smooth wc paper?

Your demeanor and your eye for color are just precious inspirations to us all amateur artists, Ham. Keep it up!
You're such an inspiration in my gouache portrait painting attempts, you keep evolving it's insane! The girl is so expressive and alive I love it

I hope to paint with gouache just as good one day! I’m surprised that I can achieve what I do with watercolor! Where is the oil painting one?
What an amazing series
Amazing work. Good job dear friend😊😊😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤ good job
Hi, I love you art and I wonder: do you see all the different colors of the image when you see it or did you learn how to do that?
I hope i can be as good in painting as you in the future, love you, and stay safe!! ♡♡
Wonderful video!!!
Loving this series! Question though - how do you avoid the gouache cracking when it dries? I have ruined so many paintings because they ended up cracking? 🤔
Hi! Too many layers or real thick layers might be the problem or the paper might be kind of flimsy :)) cracking used to happen to my artworks
@@getthatkatching3252 Thank you. 🤓
mine used to crack when I laid the paint down too thick but could be a number of reasons - gl with your paintings :)
Just when I thought:" hmmm this kinda looks like Taylor but with green eyes. Maybe it's because the lips." And you said the same

Do your kids paint with you? I can get my son to sometimes, but he gets frustrated very easily if it's not turning out the way he wants lol
Pure talent
Nice

Cool
Where did you get your ref photo? :>
😍
I agree hahaha during the process I was like "is this Taylor Swift?"
hehe Hi ate!! Uhm what's the best affordable watercolor and gouache brushes would you recommend for beginners?
May I ask
What is the pencil you used for the sketch?
What is the first layer and why is it there?
Can you give me the link of the original photo ?
Where I can find the photo reference?
Que linda
Uhmm... can you make a video about references? And where can you find these references?
