Taren - first of all it (truly) makes me sad... But the good thing - you're not really gone!! Of course a HUGE thank that you and NTK explained me the world of Triathlon. Me starting in 2017 with "A-Taren", "Team Trainiac" and "MyMoTTIV"... Wish you all the best!! Greetings to the Director of Happiness 🤓🤙👍
The timing of the arc of my triathlon journey largely mirrored yours, including moving on to other things when triathlon had run its course in my life. I was a loyal viewer and always looked forward to the next video. Thank you for the role that you played in that part of my life. You were an inspiration. I won’t be joining you on your future channels but I wish you the best of luck.
Happy for you! ..and you don't owe me anything, you have given so much - knowledge, inspiration, and so much more. I owe you. I care about you guys and pray for you.... moving forward, I am stoked to hear about the new content.. you were always way ahead of the curve on the science of endurance training and everything related. Best wishes for your health, relationships, business, and your next goals. I look forward to seeing you around!
Must say I was happy to see you back. We all change and search for new things in our lives. I will say I have been following you for a few years and your channel was the one that got me into Triathlon. Good luck in your future endeavors. I will check out the new links. Cheers
Thanks for all you do! I’ve been using Mottive for the past 1.5 years and have seen tremendous improvement in my performance. I look forward to viewing your new content. Enjoy Calgary!
Hey Taren - I want to thank you. About 5 years ago the YT algorithm decided to show me one of your videos. I was at a pretty low point and had swapped my long runs for long drinking sessions. After seeing your passion for triathlon and learning more about your story I started thinking about changing my situation. I subscribed to your OG app in 2019 and started my triathlon journey. I love it - and have gone through my own 'standard' tri journey where I completely over did it and am now finding balance. My story in life was heavily influenced by yours. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us and giving me the inspiration to change my own life. I wish only the best for you personally!
Your videos through the years have gotten me to start lines and finish lines. Did my first 70.3 last year! Congrats on the next phase and a late welcome to Calgary, see you on the pathways
Good for you, I also at a certain age decided that pushing my body to the limits all the time is not fun, but hurts, so now I just love to work out a me do me, just like you are doing you. Thanks for sharing where you are at, and will look forward to your future information.
Thanks Taren for everything. You were my guide through my journey into 70.3s starting 2019, to this year's IM. Your sincerity and humility shine through, and will taking you far, whatever you choose. My best wishes mate.
I put off watching this because I knew , well thought I knew, what you were going to say. Wow, I'm so excited for your new chapter! I visited Calgary for skiing some 30 years ago and continued to visit each year from the UK. We love Banff, Lake Louise, Sunshine Village. For ten years, each winter we flew into Calgary we would see how it had grown, what an amazing city it is now! So having sat at a desk riding a PC for most of my 35 year career, I started my triathlon journey a couple of years ago, soaking up the info you posted on your channel and it was a major motivator. Did a Sprint that summer and followed it with an Olympic distance, with a 3km sea swim in between. Then earlier this year I flew out to Victoria BC, stayed with my cousin and did my first Ironman 70.3; just last month my first marathon. Yes there's a goal to complete a full Ironman 140.6, maybe next year or 2026. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the channel you dedicated so much time to putting together and I wish you all the best for your future projects!
Taren, thanks for the hundreds of great videos over the years. When I first got into triathlon (signed up for one on a whim), your videos taught me how to swim. I watched your daily videos through my first season in triathlon, and it was great to meet you at Birds Hill tri that year. Sorry to hear you have some challenges like ankle and back that have got in the way - I know Kona was a longtime goal for you, for example. It sounds like you're at peace with all of this, which is an awesome example to set. I've fallen into depression many times when injury has got in the way of my goals or abilities, and that just turns into a vicious circle. Depression makes the injury worse (or prevents me from actively getting it better), etc. Thank you for taking us along on your journey, and congrats on all of your accomplishments as a triathlete, motivator, business owner, and human.
Thank you, Taren! Your videos helped inspire me back in late 2017/early 2018 when I was burnt out on running and ready to jump into triathlon! Best wishes and I will definitely subscribe!!
I always enjoyed your stuff. The content was great and informative. It was fun to always have your videos running in the basement on those long rides and runs.
We may have changed your life but I'm sure you have changed our lives far more. Loved following your journey. Wish you and the team/family all the best for the future.
OMG, I ❤ you Taren. Mad respect for staying true to yourself and your goals/abilities/desires! We can all benefit by asking ourselves the questions you have so courageously asked yourself and answered in front of a large audience. Ride that e-bike, build your business, keep sharing your journey. Thank You (and NTK!) for all the great content and inspiration have and continue to share
Thanks for all the years of guidance. During the time you put race and training content out, I completed a 70.3(Augusta) and a full (Chattanooga). You are authentic and honest about the challenges being an influencer and athlete presents. When I started this video today, I noticed you were happy and healthy! congrats on continuing the journey on your terms.
Hello Taren, I have been missing your videos, and every time I see Jonathan PR and his great results, I think of you. I still watch videos just to refresh my training. Good Luck on the new journeys. I will still be following you. Cheers
Love it following your new passion, you got me into triathlon 4 years ago and I’m still chasing that irondistance challenge. I will definitely check out your other channels. Thank you sir your the best
Triathlon Taren, You helped me learn to swim (and get over my fear of drowning) for my 1st full IRONMAN in 2019. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true! Every morning you I watched you on RUclips before going off to the pool, or for a run, or bike ride, to gain confidence and techniques in each discipline. Your videos live will live on forever, that's your legacy!
Taren. Thank you for the introduction to yoga (we still take classes from Helen). Thank you for making it clear how important adding strength training is. Thank you for the stride / running techniques videos. But most of all thank you for being you! Over the years you've inspired me to do a half marathon, marathons and yes I've moved on as well (to ultras ;-) ) but it all started with you! I had been wondering over the year where you went. I'll try out the new channels. You are a true inspiriation.
Thanks for all those videos back in the day. I am not ready to move from triathlon just yet. I am still missing the full distance, then I will be ready to move on to next adventures :D
I’m looking forward to the long form content! I always need something to watch on the trainer. Also, E-bikes are actually fantastic! I’ve worked in a bike shop for the last 7 years, and I would have one if I could commute where I live.
Welcome to Calgary!! Thank you for all the inspiration over the years and the great advice, content, and training suggestions. Maybe we will see you around Harmony on July 27, 2025, for Calgary 70.3? All the best! Cheers
Just finishing my long run on Saturday, I thought, "Hey, what are Taren and Kim up to?" Maybe it was heat stroke, or maybe it's just been a while since I've watched any videos. I still remember your daily vlog rally, or when you asked us to tell our stories to share with the community, or when you accompanied so many professional triathletes to film them, or when you once said that your new motivation was not to qualify for Kona, but to make it possible for others to do so (something like you said in this video). And today finding this video with my morning coffee was very good. Life changes and moves fast (like you on your e-bike haha), the important thing is to always find new motivations. Greetings from Argentina, I definitely fell in love with triathlon thanks to you, I will always be indebted to you.
Taren has an Infectious personality, charismatic energy; a high quality purveyor of motivation and information; I've missed the videos. My own health issues brought a premature end to triathlon (unintentional underfuelling = osteoporosis), but I think it's curiosity and an interest in ideas and movement in all forms that matter most. Although I can't help wishing I'd had a few more podiums and I miss travelling to foreign cities to race. I remember when Taren was going to embark on Ironman and Kona qualification after 70.3 and Roth success, and then he pivoted and was successful in another direction instead. Inspiring - true psychological flexibility 👍
what can I say about this 11 minutes video!!!??? HUGEEEE respect and gratitude for all the knowledge and episodes you posted. Every time I see you on strava, I ask the same question, where have you been? Made me think how all these years and years of training you and your team have impacted in a great way to me and for sure hundred of people! thanks again and hope to see you around! #TarenForManyMoreYears
I was just doing an online session with Tiree Fitness in my Trainiac t-shirt. When it finished youtube threw up a TT video for the first time in ages. Gave me a smile :-)
Thanks for the videos, Taren. You've been a huge inspiration to my own triathlon campaign through the years and basically my motivation for starting my own RUclips channel too. Good luck with everything! Oh and by the way: Calgary? Awesome city!
Welcome to the Stampede City. It won’t take you long to find all the fun bike & ski activities around town, the scenery is much better when you’re not trying to crush it.
Hi Taren, don't know if you'll see this but wanted to say thanks. Your content played a pivotal role in my earlier days of learning in Triathlon. The tri community is not a huge one and I'm sure it's gotta be tough targeting that market on RUclips. Hopefully we will see you around because I've still got improving to do! All the best to you and NTK.
Good luck Taren. I watched your videos a lot around 2017 onwards & really enjoyed those days when I was also racing full of determination. This year I‘m also at a decision point & feel like my triathlon journey is coming to an end as I‘ve achieved the goals I set out to achieve. Time to hand over to the next generation. But I‘m still not buying an ebike 😂 but wish you the best of luck with your businesses & your health!
❤awwww you always stay Coach Taren!!! I’m looking forward to check out more videos from you guys and thank you for your hard work. Say Hi to NTK ;) best, Z
Ngl a little bit sad…you were there when I started doing with Tipps motivation and you truly had an impact as to why I’m doing triathlon now. I didn’t feel the motiv vibe but i regularly checked in to see what you are doing. I hope you succeed in everything that you do even though iam a little heartbroken
Good to hear you back. Totally agree on ebike. I am in my 60s. Still doing tri. I have an awesome gravel ebike. It allows me to just go out and ride without killing myself or can go on the gravel or turn the battery off and get an intense workout if i want that. I still get on my Pinarello Dogma which i lovetoo.. Good luck on your new ventures
Life should evolve and move on. That's part of human growth. Good on you for continuing to challenge yourself and not stagnate! That said...nice golf simulator set up you have there. Is that one of your new challenges? It's a tough one, but you're in a beatiful part of Canada to play golf! Enjoy the struggle!
I don't believe in "this is best for everybody at all times, the science is settled" solutions. But that's probably not how its meant. I'll check it out for sure.
This is the story of a guy who got into something without knowing much about it, so did too much too soon without seing it. But since he learned a lot of things being deeply involed and curious, he thought he could benefits others by sharing his growing knowledge on RUclips. Then the reality of his too agressive or fast progression reel him back so he started looking elsewhere (had few other choice, indeed). In retrospect, the RUclips channel about triathlon came too soon, before having enought knowledge to inspire and best advice on how to start the right way, or at least what best his example could have been... Now, after a half success reorientation (that Mottiv channel), we are at calling "sauna 3 times a week and commuting on an e-bike" doing exercise! The irony would now be for Taren to start a channel on his businessman journey for, in 10 years from now, explaining why despite all the advices to other he personaly failed made it successful ! I know I sound cruel, but while I often appreciated some videos of the Triathlon Taren channel (especialy the one on "why endurance training makes us fat", maybe the only one out there who ever talked about it and explained something so important), on an other hand I always asked myself "where does that guy come from to talk about it like if he was so experienced and knowledgeable". Good communicator, good guy, but in the end a half sad half good story. I will now do exactly what he said: look at some of the new content on the new channels without first suscribing to them. I feel it will present content some youtubers are already into. The Triathlon Taren had its own feel, and distinct content. Let's see what the new ones will offer.
Taren if you even need parts for your bikes let me know! I run a shop in YYC we got a cycling team that would love to meet you as well. We also got a chiropractor that can work with you. Im also a huge ebike guy in calgary. I did a 1,080km ride to whitefish montana and back. We need to go for a bike ride lol
Hi Taren. It is really hard to search your new channels. From a consumer perspective, it would be much easier to simply evolve your current channel. I fear people won’t easily find your content.

Same here!!
Thank you Taren!
You filled my geeky needs for learning and always provided the latest trends and information out there.
Your introduction to running for beginners is still the best video on that subject on the internet.
I had missed some good ol Triathlon Taren and this video reminded me some of that. With that said i think in this type of videos is where you shine
Happy for you! ..and you don't owe me anything, you have given so much - knowledge, inspiration, and so much more. I owe you. A legend in the RUclips jungle and as an athlete. Thanks

That is awesome! Providing us weekend warriors with content that we need is appreciated. Good luck on your future endeavors.
All the best Taren,
Greetings from an early Trainiac. Learned a lot just by following your journey. Good luck in Galgary. Cheers from Amsterdam

Don't get old, kids. I was a masters swimmer and had started to dabble in triathlon, and bam! COVID. Long COVID turned into accelerated aging.

Hope you know “Global Runner” - he’s a great runner who’s trying to run a sub-2:30 marathon at age 50!

Welcome to Calgary! I moved here in 1991 from the UK.
Stay hard,bro!
Enjoyed the journey
What made you move from BC? Too isolated on the island?
You’re soooooo close to Banff! Lucky!!
Hope to see you swimming again! You loved that speedo ™️
So you’ve moved twice ? BC and now to Calgary .. what happened to the AIRBNB with all the goodies ? Sold ?
Was wondering why you moved from bc to Calgary
I don't believe in "this is best for everybody at all times, the science is settled" solutions. But that's probably not how its meant. I'll check it out for sure.

Been waiting for this video. What does a person do after they hit "peak triathloninginging".
You don’t wanna do a reconstruction for the ligament in the foot?
E-bikes are awesome, not for me but they are perfect for many people.
Finally!! 🎉
Why don’t you do swim/bike competition?
Welcome to Calgary.
Oh wow you’re doing a podcast with the guys from Mets. Luke (the founder) used to be my coach, really knew his stuff.
Yeah! Nick is super knowledgeable
Hi Taren. It is really hard to search your new channels. From a consumer perspective, it would be much easier to simply evolve your current channel. I fear people won’t easily find your content.
Off topic. Nice coat. What is it
I wanted to sign up for motivv but the swim workouts are too complicated
There is also a lot of people on Reddit that hate you and your platform, any idea why?
Why are you not wearing a helmet?
It's not required by law
All ebike riders. By law are to wear helmets
He stole my dam name
bye!
doosh
